Chicken Piccata was dripping in butter.
No request for drink order when taking lunch orders.
Once I was able to order a Diet Coke, no one asked if I wanted a refill (or another).
Service was a bit slow.
A bit loud too, due to the materials used to construct the space and the high ceiling.
Not great value, $24 for a small Caesar salad and a 4-oz. chicken breast prepared Piccata style and dripping in butter, and a few vegetables.
Great food and vibe.
Too loud. Never go here for a business lunch. It’s like a gymnasium inside.
The service of multiple persons was efficient but we were firehoused with drinks, salads, main course and desert - I felt like I was on a race track. Plus we were given our check with desert. Grrrrr!
Also our view of the kitchen walls were awful - dirty white walls with aprons, clipboards and junk. Boo!
One of the 20 best meals we have ever had and that includes meals we’ve spent much more on.
From the strawberry burrata salad to the wild mushroom rigatoni to the lasagna with shredded meat, not ground beef - exquisite in every way. Leave room for the housemade ice cream - we had fig and port!
The food was delicious. We loved everything. The vibe was great...nice open space.
Great food. Service was a little slow and not as attentive as you would think for a restaurant of this caliber. I would still recommend it and return.
The server/bartender was amazing , she was friendly and on top of things . She had great knowledge of the items on the menu. I took my wife there and she loved it. I will come back soon . Food was delicious and prices were reasonable.
Great for business lunches. Right across the street from my office.
I had the roasted beet salad with salmon and it was magical.
Maybe good for a business lunch, but weekend dining was nothing spectacular. Good salads and variety. Bar in the basement might be cool nightspot, however, but we did not stick around to see what kind of crowd the place attracts.
Super Yummmmy😋 lunch & cocktails 🍸 !
I was in town for a conference and looking for someplace close to my hotel. I never imagined that a choice based on convenience would end up being such a wonderful experience. We had an awesome server who made perfect recommendations based on our many questions. Honestly, he was 3 for 3 on all of his recommendations.
The food was absolutely delicious (wood-grilled octopus to start, followed by spaghetti with pork Bolognese) and I found myself thinking about that pasta for days afterward. The butterscotch budino for dessert was also divine. From start to finish, so delicious!!!!
I kept looking for opportunities to get back to Miro before my short trip was over, but, sadly, never made it. Next time I’m in LA, this will definitely be on my list of must-visit spots!!
Great happy hour available in the bar area... highly recommend for after work bites and drink!
The food and service were great. Ambiance and decor very clean and pleasing. I went during lunch and the noise level was high so would not recommend for a quiet romantic or intimate dinner or lunch. I have lots of allergies and they were accommodating and knowledgeable about allergies and cross contamination . Will go again for sure and do remind the grilled Octopus was superb!
For the restaurant: Ordered 4 drinks and an assortment of apps and entrees for my bday group of 4. Overall the drinks were ok at best (which is why we passed on more), the food i wouldn't write home about. Certain items felt overpriced because the experience with them didn't justify the cost. Its almost like some level of flavor was missing. Part of me wishes I had ordered a burger instead because that is almost impossible to miss on.
I will say the dessert was really good! We tried 3 different ones and I would rank it top to bottom: cheesecake, caramel budino, and tiramasu. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them.
After we went downstairs to see the whiskey lounge, however we only stayed for one pour. The selection was good, but I wasn't a fan of the DJ, and the music was entirely too loud where it made it hard to enjoy drinking a good scotch while conversing.
Happy birthday to me. I had invited my friends to have a small dinner with me at Miro. The decor was absolutely beautiful. They all loved it. My friend Christopher walks by Miro all the time and never went in, he said he loved it. Then my two other friends said it was "fancy." I said, "Nothing but the best for my friends."
We chose great food. I had the Scallops and Panchetta. What an excellent choice. My other friends went with the chicken and he loved it very much. The drinks were cleverly named IE: "Who are you gonna call?" and cleverly garnished. A definite must try. We all shared the well presented Caprese salad and then headed out for the night.
The service was great. The food was also good except the spaghetti was a bit salty. Great place for a date night.
I was quite disappointed with my experience at Miro. I booked a reservation for two on Valentine's day after researching the menu, but when we arrived, we were forced to order off a set menu. In addition, we were presented with champagne and flowers which, while nice for some, were not something we asked for and therefore did not want due to the extra charge associated with them. In addition, the menu displayed no prices, and the options were quite limited. Unfortunately, neither of us found any of the courses to be worth the spectacular unexpected bill we had to pay. In addition, both my date and I are under 21, and therefore did not touch the champagne we were "gifted." However, the waitress came over to us and asked us if we were of age, but before we could respond in the negatory, she quickly grabbed the glasses away from us as other diners watched. It was not only embarrassing, but no charge was deducted from our bill. We ended up spending $165 on a decent-but by no means worth the price-meal, and a $30 "20% gratuity" was slapped on before we were asked to tip.
I will not be dining here again. 1) they quite obviously took advantage of the holiday by withholding menu prices, serving small, average courses, and complementing parties with gifts, which I am appalled by, especially being a college student with a limited income. 2) they embarrassed my date and me by taking away our champagne, rightfully so, but before we could respond and in a noisy manner. I'm not one to write negative reviews or comments by any means, but I was truly disappointed and embarrassed. I hope Miro will someday offer a worthwhile dining experience, but they have yet to achieve so today.
It was oKay
Valentine’s Day pre Fox was not great. Have never tried on a normal day.
Valentine’s Day pre fixe menu.
We went there for Valentines Day and it was “ok”, nothing special and should have just kept the regular menu available vs forcing people to order off a limited very over priced selection. There was not one wow menu item that we had. All were, again, okay but not worth the money. My lobster pasta was completely tasteless.
Valentines Day was a hit!
My date and I enjoyed a delicious meal for Valentines Day. We liked the atmosphere and the music. Our four-course meal was wonderful. But service was mediocre. Then Miro built the tip right into the bill. No choice. That is not a tip; it is a hidden service charge.
Not the greatest service
Never had been and wanted to try. Super cute and great ambiance
The food and service were good, in fact, the food is consistently good, but it's quite noisy and therefore challenging to carry on a conversation.
the squid ink pasta and drinks that we got were really good, our friend had the lamb chop and said it was phenomenal. Also recommend the cheese plate. Ambiance was lively but not overly loud, I like that you can carry a conversation without raising your voice. Over all was a pleasant experience and will return. Definitely check out the downstairs bar!
Nice atmosphere and consistently good food, but very noisy.
Had a business lunch here. Good menu and food choices. Pretty interior and good seating space. Food was good, but not great otherwise I would give 5 stars.
I have been to Miro several times, and in the past, it has always been amazing. Unfortunately, this time, the food was just so-so, and the item I ordered had issues several time (main was out after ordering, then next dish one side couldn't be done, and the next was under cooked and the one after that did not seem right.) While the server was friendly, she was not attentive enough, so it took forever to get help. Three of us, and the entree for mine also came out nearly 10 minutes after the other two, and of course, with the issues, meant I was eating after the other two were done.
It’s a nice restaurant with a whiskey bar downstairs. The food is just so so. We ordered a lot of dishes and everything tasted bland or more correctly - like the generic versions of the plates. I have eaten at a lot of Italian restaurants in Asia - and there is something so I flavorful about them. The food looks great - but it’s some bland version of what Italian is.
We went downstairs for a nightcap. We sat at a table and were never approached by a waiter or bartender. So we left and went elsewhere.
They need to up their game: flavor! How can you order a Bolognese pasta, and a pepperoni pizza and have them taste exactly the same - without spices. Pepperoni had no flavor and the cheese was bland
This place is ideal for small groups of 4-8 as the shared plates are delicious and extremely varied. We all loved the grilled octopus but all were very good. We shared a mushroom and truffle pizza which was nice but very light on the truffle flavor... as in none. Still a nice pizza. The rigatoni’ with short rib was a real crowd pleaser as were all of the desserts. Our waitress was wonderful and her suggestions were spot on. Good energy and vibe. The downstairs whiskey bar is not to be missed either before or after dinner.
This was our second visit and we still love it. The menu has an interesting selection and the staff are friendly. Next time we'll visit the whiskey bar downstairs too.
Took a client, was great atmosphere, perfect noise level, delicious food and drinks
I don't like to give bad reviews just because I had a bad experience as sometimes things happens. There was 5 of girls dinning we all ordered at the same time but only 3 of the meals came out. We had to ask the waitress where our meals were. She came back and told us there was an issue with the printer and they missed our meal. They apologized , filled out wine glass for free, and comped out two meals. We did get our two meals when everyone was done, but I think they handled the situation graciously and I appropriated the honesty. The food was great and I loved the atmosphere.
The food and the place is good. The only complain I have is the noise level since we were seated with a large group celebrating birthdays. They can probably put them at the back.
Good Italian inspired good in DTLA. Some accoustic treatment of the room would have made the space less noisy. The grilled octopus was a table favorite as was the delicious homemade lasagna. The Scallop and Pancetta dish was uninspired and a qee bit disappointing given the level of the octopus and lasagna.
Pizzas were very good
Salads were fine
