Miramar is a family-owned and -operated Mediterranean seafood restaurant located near the water's edge in New Yorks Battery Park City. Offering a lunch and dinner menu, Miramar serves dishes inspired by Turkey, Greece and Sicily. Try appetizers like eggplant Napoleon, jumbo lump crab cakes or mussels. Seafood is the restaurant's specialty. Try the lobster ravioli, seafood linguini or stuffed shrimp. For vegetarian guests, there are options like eggplant parmigiana and vegetable penne primavera.
Miramar offers catering, delivery and take-out, as well as online ordering. The restaurant has outdoor seating and has great views of the water. Popular with neighborhood locals, this place is suitable for groups and is wheelchair accessible.
The best seafood and overall dining experience I’ve had in some time. The service was impeccable and the menu options were plentiful. We chose a few specials and some items off the menu and everything was flavorful and the portions were outstanding.
The staff made sure we had water and drinks throughout our stay and were very knowledgeable with all the menu options and attentive to all our needs. We completed our night with great desserts and after dinner drinks.
Will definitely recommend and be revisiting with others.
Thank you Miramar for a great night.
Tony served us, gave us some laughs, and was great overall.
Thank you Tony for making it a great day!

There was merely any service, waiting forever for the missing set of silverware and was told by a supervisor or manager that was because our waitress does not speak English...It took almost 90 mins for the food to come out and cold. Very disappointed.
Food was well-prepared though too salty. Would be helpful if menu or wait staff described the sauces atop the grilled fresh fish (e.g., peppercorn on the tuna).
Service was gracious and professional.
We will return!
We frequently eat lunch and sometimes dinner at this great place. The food is continuously good. Their seafood is very fresh and superior as Aldo the owner knows his fish. His wife Una knows how to cook Mediterranean. We get great service from Shadi, Tony, Shref and Saul.
We have tried pretty much everything from soup to appetizers and main dishes one cannot go wrong.
Our waiter was excellent. The atmosphere was stunning!
Lunch - on a Friday. No one else around the first 30 minutes or so. Had to wait at least 30 minutes to get the 3 sandwiches - they had just opened. A pleasant young man took our orders - did bring drinks and disappeared - we were sitting outside. Didn’t see him again until check time.
Lackluster food. Setting is beautiful - too bad.
Great food, great service!!
What a great experience. Service was fantastic and food was excellent. Beautiful outdoor seating during summer time. Will definitely be dining here on the regular. Thanks Miramar!
The restaurant was lovely, right on the water and on the esplanade. We reserved a table in advance, and they put us outside on a perfect weather day. Everyone in my party of seven liked the food. The waiter was lovely, and allowed multiple credit cards at the table. The restaurant was very busy, so we waited for some time to get our checks at the end. I would go back again.
Most disappointed with the Miramar. Our granddaughter said it was the worse bolognaise she had ever tasted and couldn't eat it . Our seafood spaghetti was fine though. We went for lunch and it was very quiet.
We are local neighborhood residents and want so much for this restaurant to be a great locale for not only tourists, but somewhere for neighborhood folks to enjoy as well. Unfortunately, I can't say that's the case. First, the table setting and overall decor. For what you are paying, the place is dirty and smells dirty. It's clear they do not clean the floors in the outdoor area regularly. They use these sticky vinyl tablecloths in the outdoor seating and the wait service walks around with a bottle of Fantastik to clean off. Now, the service -- horrendous. We waited over 1 hour for our food and we were one of the first patrons in the restaurant. We asked specifically with 2 kids, that our food be served as quickly as possible. 30 mins passed and I asked the waitress nicely to please check on the food. Another 20 mins passed, and said waitress tries to avoid my eye contact until I addressed her loudly to please check our food. Finally, the food arrived and while it was flavorful, it was overcooked. We are talking about a restaurant that prides itself in seafood fare. We had to ask for water to be refilled twice for the service to come around once. Bread was clearly left over from the night before. For $35 a dish, on average, you expect more. What you are getting is the view - if you don't mind the smell of leftover garbage or unwashed floors. I hope the owner is reading this and seeing what a disgrace this restaurant has become to the neighborhood.
The atmosphere was very relaxing. We were seated outside so we could enjoy the sun and breeze. The service was quick and the food was very good. We will definitely return.
I ventured to Miramar on Saturday Evening for dining by the water. The view was nice and the food was better than good. Unfortunately the restaurant itself needs a little attention. The walls are a little beat up, the bathroom could be cleaner and when I asked for hot tea, the plastic commercial container that the tea comes in was in horrible condition. The waiter while he was hospitable just needs a little training and confidence. I heard another waiter relaying the daily specials and the he informed the other table of approximately 3 additional items I was not told of. The food that came was great Lobster Fra Diavolo was incredible. Stuffed Shrimp was good. Seafood linguine was also a hit. I would nut have the calamari again, rasted as if it were frozen. Overall good food, but in a restaurant that needs attention and a little polish.
A couple of things about the restaurant
1. Food is good
2. It took over 2 hours to serve 5 us. A few people in our party ordered salads and those took over 45 minutes to come out and when they came out they came out 1 by 1.
3. 45 min later a couple of plates came out and maybe 15 min later the remaining came out. One of the salads came very last.
4. Service was meh, our server was a bit indifferent each time we asked for our food.
5. If you go, be ready to wait, looked like they only had 1 burner on the stove and 1 knife available for the salads.
The value was beyond what we were expecting based on the reviews. I had the seafood pasta and my fiancé had the shrimp scampi. We are pretty picky and really enjoyed everything. The service was amazing and we would definitely go back.
Sitting outside near the water was the highlight of the experience at Mirarmar. The waiter was sweating profusely and wiping his face with a rolled up tissue (which constantly dropped on the floor) and his hands, and using his same hands to serve our food. He was really sweet but it disgusted us that he was dripping sweat, wiping his face with his hands, wiping that on his clothes and then serving us. While he was patient with us as mulled over the less than exciting menu, by the time the food came we were turned off by everything. I think we “pity ate” because he was genuinely attentive. The food was mediocre at best - fried calamari that tasted like it was pulled from a frozen package; tilapia and pasta that was cold and bland, plus a tuna tartare that left nothing appealing to the eye. Frankly, the San Pellegrino water, bowl of chicken soup and bread were the highlight, but certainly not for that price!
I wouldn’t come back here at all.
Had the Apple Salad with grilled chicken, shrimp scampi. Both were very good. View was not what we expected or as website suggested.
Awesome food, excellent service and a beautiful setting :)
Our server was amazing. Wish I could remember his name. Food was great, everything was great.
A very nice seafood restaurant with good views of the Hudson River.
The Red Snapper( fish of the day) was excellent. Service was nice too. Will recommend.
I chose Miramar because I wanted to eat on the water and that was an excellent choice. If you sit on the patio, the waiter can show you the perfect view of the harbor and Statue of Liberty . You enjoy the view while watching everyone stroll through the neighborhood.
The appetizer of spicy shrimp was probably the item I was least impressed with - both in overall presentation and preparation. So that I would not necessarily recommend. But the main course I had the Meditteranean Seafood over rice and that was really good. The seafood was all appropriately cooked and the rice mixture was delicious, though a little on the oily side so heads up on that.
My friend had the lobster ravioli and I tasted it and it was deliciously flavored, though the presentation could use a little flare.
We had dinner after site seeing with relatives from Germany
My wife and I went into NYC to have dinner with a friend. This restaurant is located in lower Manhattan, below the 9/11 memorial. Some seats have a view of New York Harbor, Jersey City and the Statue of Liberty.
The menu offers a nice cross selection of seafood, steak, chicken and pasta. I had the Lamb Chops, my wife had the Swordfish Steak and our friend had a Pasta Seafood Medley. We have all had better meals, but on whole were very pleased meals. The service was good and our was fine. We plan to return.
Menu is very interesting and the food quite tasty. Service is okay but, at times, could be better. Unique outdoor dining in an enclave that offers views of South Cove Harbor, Hudson River, Statute of Liberty, Jersey City and more. Not cheap but not expensive - a good value. Good date spot but it would be better if they dimmed the lights a bit at night.
It was a quaint restaurant. The views of the Statue of Liberty were not all that good due to outside columns blocking the views.
Great lil spot to grab a meal while running around lower manh
A hidden neighborhood gem, recently discovered. Food was excellent, as was service and ambiance. One of the few restaurants left in NYC where you can actually hold a conversation and be heard at the table.
Highly recommend this outstanding seafood restaurant.
The food and service were outstanding. The location is beautiful right on the water. Our only complaint was that there was a birthday party in the main dining room and they were singing karaoke so it was quite loud and unexpected. But the waiter acknowledged this and gave us a free dessert! I would go back again.
My friend and I enjoyed a Friday night at Miramar. I would recommend this restaurant to another person, however it would be to dine there in the summer time. The restaurant was fairly empty for a Friday night, then again perhaps because it's winter? The meal was average - I ordered the shrimp scampi. It was good, not incredible and I don't feel like I will be craving that meal again. The drinks were very good. If anything the setting may be a good place to grab a quick drink in the winter and a great place for a seafood meal and ambiance in the summer.
The view is gorgeous. The restaurant is right on the Hudson River with a view of the Statue of Liberty. They are really known for their seafood, which is incredible. The service was exceptional as well.
Food was average at best. Fish tasted old and fishy. Shrimp cocktail was fishy smelling and tasting. Really limp. Tasted old. Branzino was very small and was not presented all cleaned and deboned as 99.9% of most establishments do. Sea bass was floating in a plate full of butter. The vegetables though were very tasty.
Overall for $150 the meal was terrible.
Would not fave been worth $35. And this $150 did not include any alcohol.
We would have a real hard time ever going back.
Great location but also the place feels dirty.
The service was extremely attentive and the food and the wine were excellent. Very large portions (even the soup)! The views of NY harbor and the Statue of Liberty are a great asset to this small restaurant.
I went to a performance at the Yiddish Theater and my friend and I selected the restaurant based on location. We both ordered the fish of the day-Halibut-a favorite of mine-as our entree. Everything was okay but not great. The location was terrific and the staff attentive. I don’t know if there are many other restaurants in the area but this would not be one that I would return to without checking out other local fare.
It was a mixed bag. The service was very good. The appetizers that we ordered were excellent. But the main entrees were very uneven. Of the four people we had in the party two were very happy with their dishes, one was indifferent, and one was very disappointed (ribeye steak was of poor quality, no chef could have done much with that cut of meat). It was probably a mistake to order a steak at a seafood restaurant. But I believe for a quality restaurant all choices must be to a certain standard. Otherwise why put it on the menu? The wine selection was limited. But the one we ordered at the high end of the list was good.
Good things first, my son got a little birthday song and a cheese cake.
Unfortunately food was boring. Not bad but simply lame.
Waiter was very nice, location as well
It was amazing all around!!!!
Service was very slow , we waited for food for 45 minutes. The quality of food is average. There was no prefix menu that we saw on ad on open table. We probably would have picked different restaurant if we knew it in advance .
We had tickets for an event at the Heritage Museum, which is only a few blocks away from The Miramar Restaurant. Arriving by the No. 1 subway, the restaurant was a few blocks from the Rector Street station; you can cross West Street at a Traffic Light and avoid the pedestrian bridge if you like.
At Miramar, we had the traditional Onion Soup and a Seafood Soup and then the Rib Eye steak, perfectly cooked and the others had Shrimp with Cousous; everything was delicious!
Our dinner was wonderful. We had the stuffed shrimp and the scallops, and the grilled octopus as an appetizer. The food was fabulous, but the service was kind of slow. Our server seemed to be a little preoccupied with something or someone else.
That said though, I would still recommend the restaurant highly.
