Miramar Bistro combines the traditional French bistro with flair from Havana; from traditional Cuban sandwiches to steak frites, the menu is always fresh and seasonal. Service is friendly and thorough and the ambiance will take you back to 1920 Havana. The French doors open to the sidewalk patio and lend to al fresco dining both for lunch and dinner. Miramar also books parties and banquets up to 300 people.

Miramar Ratings and Reviews
We spent a lot of time trying to find a French restaurant open for lunch (for our 42nd wedding anniversary). Miramar was one of the few options, and we decided to give it a try. We were extremely pleased. We sat in immensely comfortable red leather winged chairs which enclosed us in privacy. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere. We were happy with everything we ordered, especially the endive salad. Service was prompt. We left feeling "this was exactly what we wanted" !
The place was crowded, but our table was waiting for us. Small space and you get to hear other conversations. Rustic style, but the kitchen did not support the expectations. Food was less then everyday and had a lack of French taste. My special request for desert was ignored and that made it even less special for me. Ok, if you are in the neighborhood, bit I would save the Drive and look for other place for special occasion.
Visited this restaurant with my husband for our date night, and unfortunately it wasn’t what we were expecting. We decided to seat at the bar, and wanted to make small talk with the bartenders but it seemed they didn’t understand us very well. I asked for recommendations and about a few dishes, like the Assorted Cheese Platter, and he couldn’t tell me anything about it. I wish they would’ve been more personable with us. We started with a few cocktails, and wanted another round but it took a while to get their attention so we decided to just order wine and food. The food was excellent, just wish the service from the bartenders would’ve been better. Maybe we will give this place another try in the future.
Three women out to lunch and thoroughly enjoying Miramar! Our food was fabulous, the service was impeccable, and they allowed us to sit and chat for a full hour (!) beyond the time they usually stop serving lunch (four p.m.). A first-timer to Miramar said it was the best food she'd had for a very long time on the North Shore, and this is a lady who eats out at least twice a week. Past experience has shown Miramar isn't this quiet and congenial in the evenings, especially on weekends, but for a Friday afternoon get-together it was perfect!
Food is is above average and we had a lovely meal. However the noise level was so agregiously loud that it became impossible to converse even tho there were just 4 of us in a booth! The extreme noise level really negatively impacted the enjoyment of our evening out. Too nice of food and too expensive to tolerate that environment unfortunately.
Miramar consistently delivers outstanding service and wonderful delicious food and all within a beautiful restaurant. You feel as though you've been whisked away to a different country. I can't rave enough about the warm, thoughtful, top notch service we receive each and every time we dine there. Every person who works in the restaurant industry should dine here to know what truly excellent service entails. A must have is the Bouillabaisse with Pernod broth. Other favorites include linguine with clams, steak frites, and when on the specials list, the skate wing. A truly enjoyable experience every time.
We have always had good experiences here, but this last time was honestly not great. We were seated in what was basically the connecting area between the two dining rooms and it was terrible! High traffic and loud, servers bumping into our table. We made this reservation 4 days in advance of the date of our dinner. Our server didn't seem to want to be bothered with our table. Will definitely think twice about going back- so many other good choices of restaurants in both Highwood and Libertyville to go back to be treated like this .
Good range of menu items, and at different price points. The entrees were a bit pricey, and the service was not quite what I'd expect for the price points. Overall I think I would not be opposed to coming back but there are many more options in the area I'd like to try first.
The place was too noise, some flies around the tables and food; the food was good nothing special.
We arrive and it took some time for someone take care of us.
They didn't ask about birthday but is was said in the reservation.
A place to go, not for special occasion.
