About Miramar Beach Restaurant
The Historic Miramar Beach Restaurant & Bar has a long and colorful history going back more than 70 years. It was originally designed and built as a Prohibition speakeasy to serve the liquor smuggled into the Bay Area through a drop off point on Miramar Beach. We have kept the historical ambiance and décor of the 1920s including an incomparable collection of photos from the era. With only a frontage road between us and the beautiful Pacific Ocean, we have the number one view and sunset on the Coast side. Check out our website at www.miramarbeachrestaurant.com.

Miramar Beach Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I just ate there today, mid afternoon. We ordered the crab cake appetizer, which was good and we felt like we were off to a promising start. However, we both ordered the lobster tail sandwich and it became very clear what we were served was not lobster, it did not have the texture of lobster, nor the delicate flavor. Whatever the white fish was it was smothered or steeped in some kind of pepper soaked marinate that just was overwhelming and lingering. The desserts were fine, and the sorbet I had alleviated the awfulness of that sauce. But only for a time, as I sit here writing this I can still taste it, yuck. An awful lot of nerve charging $27 a piece for something like that. The service was fine, and I tipped the young waitress, not her fault. I paid the full bill, but we'll never go there again.
Booked it from Colorado for Valentine's Day based on reviews, and weren't a bit disappointed. Drove down from Fisherman's Wharf mid-afternoon, easy drive, had a window table overlooking the bay. Beautiful location to watch the sunset, outstanding service (thanks Valerie!), excellent food, no rush, no pressure, just a great evening.
Hard to find...even with GPS. But worth the search. Son had the calamari steak. He woofed it down and licked the plate. (No, he didn't do that, but he did say it was good.) I had the pepper steak (au poivre). Best ever, and that's one of my favorite dishes. It was very tender and basted in a flavorful sauce that was tasty. Portions were full, neither of us had room for desert.
Highly recommended, but figure out how to get there before leaving the house.
You need to train the hostess Inside resturaunt were 2 girls, they look very unhsopy and had a rude attitude! They need to be trained on been Cortouse , Welcoming , carry a smile and be approachable! They ruined our mood for our Valentine lunch. I did not complain and report this to the manager because I didn’t want to make abig deal in front of my date. But definitely we will not return their and will advise our family and friends not go as well.
We arrived just as they opened and were seated quickly near the window. The view is great!! Our server was good but missed things (sweetened for the iced tea, brought the appetizer and food together). She was nice and friendly but seemed overwhelmed even though her area was not full. Perhaps she was new?
I have been coming to this place for the past 12 years and it has grown into a great place to take friends and family or a date to just visit and have a good conversation or just watch the view . the food is very good. the wine selection is great. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that likes a view and likes fresh local foods and seafood.
Had a delightful meal, Cesar Salad, Crab Cakes over Polenta, Great Desert , House Chardonnay Had guests from Oregon, Sunset was Spectacular , Table Location Great, Waitress Lucy, as always was Excellent ... Terry at the Piano, Wonderful selections........... Another Memorable Evening ....... MOST REASONABLY PRICED , MIRAMAR BEACH RESTAURANT A REAL WINNER !
The view can’t be beat. Our reserved window table was waiting, servers attentive. My fish tacos were very good but they forgot to leave off the aoili as requested. Lobster rolls expensive but good-only so overly seasoned that could hardly taste lobster; were accompanied by a few French fries. Crab salad had a good amount of crab on mound of lettuce and little else. We’ve had fish tacos and fish and chips before and they were delicious. Haven’t tried other offerings. Great place to dine outside on a beautiful afternoon.
Great location on the Half Moon Bay coast, so get there early to snag a window seat to look out over the ocean. Food is very good, but a bit overpriced. The ambience could be very good, too, if it wasn't so noisy, especially if you get seated by a large group.
The food was mediocre and overpriced. Wine choices are poor (considering we are in northern California, one of the premium wine producing areas of the world). Our server was good, the restaurant was just sad, dated and tired. A prime example of location over quality. UNBELIEVABLE vapor trail from the women at the table next to us was additionally off-putting. The overwhelming garlic was a relief. I look for quality food, and appreciate our server telling us which of the desserts were actually made in house...
OUR RESERVATION SPECIFIED OUR FAVORITE WAITSPERSON & WINDOW , TABLE LOCATION .

I would highly recommend the Miramar Beach Restaurant, I've never been disappointed. I took my mother for her birthday lunch and we both ordered the Calimari Steak entree, it was delicious! We were seated next to the window to watch the waves and it couldn't have been better!
The feel of a local club...cozy with a beautiful view and unique classic bar. Locals knew the servers, and the servers greeted them by name - enquired about their children/etc. Just the right feel to enjoy lovely time with friends. Scored the fireplace four-top on a blustery rainy night. Huge waves splashed onto the little street in front of the restaurant... just the best. Worth a drive from SF or up the coast.
This place has a great ocean front location and fine outdoor seating facilities. The clam chouder suffered from too many potatoes, not enough clams, celery, or clam juice, and pastey consistency. Food was OK, but lacked spark. Clams tasted fresh. Price might have been justified by ambience, but not the food.
