After 25 years as executive chef at Pitahayas Restaurant, Volker Romeike, opened his own distinct Asian fusion Restaurant and Sushi bar in San Jose del Cabo and it is called Mirai! Wanting to be more independent and free to travel and explore made him take his decisión in the summer of 2020! The very outgoing and multi talented Chef Volker Romeike began his illustrious food creating career when he was just 18-years old in his native country of Germany. Romeike wanted a way out of the cold winters of Germany and by the time he was 22 years of age, he made that adventurous voyage out of Europe and started working in the Hotel industry at Hyatt Regency Los Angeles. Later San Diego, Puerto Rico and Hawaii, It was during this time that Volker learned to speak both English and Spanish. From there, he accepted a chef’s position with the Hyatt Hotel chain and journeyed to Cabo San Lucas in 1995 for the groundbreaking construction of Grand Hyatt Los Cabos.

Did NOT live up to its review. Sat inside and the decor and ambience is quite dumpy. They only had local fish, which was limited to yellowtail and dorado. The yellowtail was good, but every roll consisted of the same fish. Had the coconut shrimp appetizer, which was very good. Overall, I would not recommend.

Totally enjoyed our delightful meal on the patio at this wonderful establishment. Excellent rolls, delicious drinks and attentive service start to finish. Highly recommend.

This hidden gem was our favorite restaurant we visited while in Cabo. Superb fresh fish, beautifully served by attentive service in a quiet neighborhood setting. Fair prices and large portions were a bonus - we paid much more in Cabo for far less exciting meals. I can’t express how much we recommend trying Mirai. You won’t be disappointed!

Incredible food, atmosphere and service. We tried nearly half the menu and were amazed by how good every item was. I cannot recommend enough.

Fabulous time as always, although the wine pour is a little weak. Would recommend checking into to ensure its comparable with market and a good value for the cost. The food, ambiance and service was amazing and would highly recommend!
