The waiter was nice and informative though she forgot to tell us about the specials. The food was superb and we love the ambiance. It was one of our birthdays, but no free dessert was offered. There was a candle in her cake. We will be returning.
Delicious food, excellent service and lovely outside seating.
Glad I found this last minute on open-table and there was space for us to enjoy this amazing meal.
Total rip off — not close to worth the money.
MIRABELLE remains a work in progress. The food is definitely the highlight of the experience, and Chef Frank Ruta never disappoints—and you feel like consuming food of high Michelin creativity, taste and quality. The restaurant needs an able, vigilant executive leader to organize and inspire the staff—and it needs a circulating busboy(s) to address table needs, including re-setting when customers depart-especially in the bar area. We would go back again—in a second—because we know the kitchen is brilliant, and we want to see the restaurant succeed.
Staff could be better trained. Front door was very drafty. All issues that can be fixed and could just of been a “bad night”. However, I will not risk it and just go elsewhere next time we go out.
Service was phenomenal
The way fine dining should be
Will go back anytime in D.C.
I ordered a vodka on the rocks which was served with one shot of vodka and a block of ice in he short glass. At least I kept my nose chilled with every sip. Sparse crowd compared to our previous visit several months earlier.
My husband stand and I had a great meal. Very attentive wait staff. Highly recommend.
Sumptuous in every way. This where you take your best client or the girl you want to love. Food, service and atmosphere are all impeccable. This will be one of my top choices going forward.
My main course, lamb, was hugely under cooked compared to my order which the waiter had initially confirmed would be no issue. It had to be remade. My guest had to wait. No order was smaller portion.
Wonderful French food. Upscale but approachable
Truly it was incredible
Food and beverage were impeccable, service evolved. A very relaxed experience, easy ambience for conversation. Can’t wait to return!!
I was very excited to have my birthday lunch at Mirabelle. It would have been nice if they had acknowledged that in some way. It was noted in the reservation as well as we informed them. The food made up for the flat service all away around.
Service was excellent with calm pacing to make for a comfortable relaxed dinner with friends. Cuisine was creative and delicious. Will want to return when we are in town.
Awesome in every way.
Great service and excellent food.
Best meal in DC in a long time. Everything was perfect.
Great place to be, very sophisticated atmosphere, perfect for business meal or special occasion. One of the best food places in DC!
It was a delight; felt very well cared for by multiple staff.
We had a lovely dinner but my husband was not very happy with the loud conversation next to us
The room is dark and uninteresting. The food was good, but the service was dreadful. No one seemed to know what they were doing. It was a slow night, so things should gone more smoothly. One thing which angered me greatly was the cocktail service. I asked for a Woodford Reserve Manhattan straight up. I was brought a drink which was clearly not what I ordered. I went to the bar to speak with the bartender, she told me they didn't have any of the bourbons I asked for. Why did she serve me something I didn't ask for? She should have asked me before serving me something I didn't like. She was rude.
When Mirabelle opened, I was hot to get there. For reasons unrecalled, I did not, but when invited to lunch recently I said I’d like to go to Mirabelle. I liked the food, much. The $26 ham sandwich, which I’d been anticipating, was very good. I ate half and took half home. The ham is extraordinary. Once home, I felt ill. Next morning, preparing to eat the other half for breakfast, I realized why. The top bread had a good quarter inch of butter on it, the bottom half an equal amount. I know the French like to butter their ham sandwiches, but this truly was extreme. The service is proper, sort of akin to people walking around with a pole in a certain part of their anatomy. Not engaging nor friendly. I always thought Corduroy excelled at this, but Mirabelle exceeds. The decor either is very rich, or very cheap, it is hard to tell, but I was much reminded of a shabby casino in Vegas, albeit a cleaned up one. And 80’s disco music at lunch? Hmmm. Who would have thought it? I am guessing Mirabelle is not long for this world.
Restaurant combines a sense of elegance with exceptionally good food. characteristics often overlooked among newer restaurants. Staff is accommodating and display a sense of knowledge without being patronizing. And a well-dressed clientele added to the charm.
Amazing service -- world class -- above and beyond, quite the perfect staff. Such a delight.
Dishes sublime and memorable -- the kitchen is beyond creative and talented; every bite an experience. In DC where the restaurant game (finally!) might be surpassing New York and rivaling the best in the world, Mirabelle can more than compete. But two caveats: 1) the ambiance is still a bit old stuffy Washington establishment, which might be what diners including political industry visitors from out of town expect so close to the White House, but most of all, 2) the music! What are you thinking?! It's not just awful and tinny, but distracting to the point of ruining the experience. Such a slight and easy fix. Go with Pandora Sinatra or other jazz standards. So many options. We'll come back happily if you do. Thanks!
Fantastic food and service. Some of the dishes were reminiscent of Chef Ruta’s great dishes from Palena. Top notch service.
Will definitely return for a special occasion - birthday or anniversary. Dinner was exceptional. Found street parking easily.
When you dine at Mirabelle, you will find yourself transported to another city. The quality and richness of the food is a level up from standard Washingtonian fare, even other fine dining options. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal of fish terrine with caviar, foie gras with cocoa nibs, bouillabaisse, pork belly, and date cake with ras el hanout ice cream. Already planning our next visit when out of town family comes to vist! Note that the bread is also made in house, and the sourdough was tasty.
The service is impeccable, the decor elegant yet not stuffy, and the food delicious. My favorite place in DC for a special occasion.
Anyone who fines at an establishment like this has high expectations, and rightly so. I had high expectations myself and was not at all disappointed. Service, food, and ambiance were all just right!
This is a second visit. Food was wonderful and the service was appropriately attentive. He was able to discuss the various menu items very satisfactorily. The wine selection was very good. Customers seemed very happy with all aspects. It was very comfortable and enjoyable evening for my guest and I.
Both of use would happy to return to this restaurant.
Everything about this restaurant is incredible - the wine list, the staff, the food. They certainly have raised the bar for other restaurants to follow.
Exquisita comida !
The service was wonderful, the food sublime— overall pleased though I do find the restaurant to be a bit overpriced.
The veloute of mushroom was out of this world as was the trout — both the smoked appetizer and the grilled trout entree. I couldn’t have asked for a more attentive server. This was a first visit for me and I will be back!
Catch-up with friends over v good food & wine. Chef Frank Ruta and Team Mirabelle are gold-medal wondrous to me.
Wonderful venue and not noisy
Food had a great presentation but some dishes were too salty.
Correct, but banal...
This was the best meal we’ve enjoyed in many months, possibly in over a year. We’ve been to most of the “hot” new restaurants and Mirabelle blew them all away by a significant margin. Excellent food that was well prepared. Each piece of the dish was excellent alone and were paired perfectly. Too many restaurants seem to try so hard to make something unique and fail. We will return again.
Went for Valentine's Day dinner. Excellent fixed menu with wine pairings. Great location for a special occasion dinner, but worth it for a "regular" excellent meal, also. We have had excellent meals and attentive service during each visit.
I started with the Mediterranean Galette (Greek Sardines in Puff Pastry) and had Sea Scallops and Urchin for dinner. My wife had the Lobster and Truffle Special followed by Braised Beef Tri Tip Bourgouinonne. Our desserts were Casablanca and À L’Américaine. Our dinners were creative, unique and delicious. We split a bottle of Alphonse Mellot, Sauvignon Blanc, ‘La Moussiere,’ Sancerre 2016 with dinner and with dessert, I had a glass of Mas Amiel, Grenache, Maury, Vin Doux Naturel, Maury Roussillon, France, 2010. The restaurant is beautiful and our service was very good! My wife's Old Fashion, scotch and our wines were also very good.
