Mirabelle - Washington, DC
Guests can anticipate a whimsical approach to dining that is meant to convey stories and memories that allow them to transcend the boundaries of the dining room. Both services are connected through our teams' experiences of growing up in New England, as well as a strong connection to the mid-Atlantic and our culinary travels beyond.

Just terribly disappointing. Hardly any French influence and overly sauced with too many ingredients. Smallest piece of fish ever served. Very difficult to recommend.
Wonderful service and outstanding dishes.
I could not have been happier. Jordan reached out to offer to print a birthday menu for my best friend (as we were dining to celebrate her birthday) and the level of attentiveness to us from the moment we arrived to the moment we left was outstanding. The new squash blossom appetizer was incredible and all the other courses were excellent as well. I am looking forward to dining at Mirabelle again soon!
Food was exquisite. Service was professional and attentive. Definitely going back. Dessert was my least favorite, but the highlight of the meal for my husband.
The Faberge egg--get it! The food here is a feast for both the eye and the palette. The flavors in the Dali Shrimp bring back memories of seafood from childhood along with a symphony of related and contrasting flavors. Every course was a winner.
Overpriced and small portions. Double charged for water. Overall would not go back.
We booked Mirabelle for a birthday celebration, and they had a "Happy Birthday" menu. Sweet. The food was outstanding, and the chef explained each dish and the contrasting/complimenting flavors. There was an unhappy toddler at the table next to us, but other than that this was a first rate dinner.
Although overall the experience was magical, we credit the ambience and the service more than the food. No doubt the food was creative but much of it lacked flavor. The lobster was creative in presentation but not special. The halibut lacked flavor though the dish was attractive. The amuse bouche and other offerings was a nice touch.
It was decent and the food was mostly tasty, but really overpriced for what you get. I was also given the wrong main course.
The consistently exceptional service matches the impeccable food. Mirabelle never disappoints.
Our waiter was Wannawuth. He is outstanding! Please note that every time I visit Mirabelle I would request that he be my server. He made the evening very special for me and my guests.
Crab sliders were great.
Perfect experience. Except paying $320 for 2 person lunch.
One of the best dining experiences in the city. Everything is excellent, every dish is a mixture of flavors and textures that is amazing.
Mirabelle is a great choice for a special dinner. The food was creative and delicious and the wine pairings were excellent. The Faberge egg was a chocolate egg, filled with foie gras. It's decadent, beautiful, and wonderful. Mirabelle is a comfortable restaurant, where you're not sitting on top of your neighbors and can have good conversation. We'd like to go back in good weather and try the patio, too.
The atmosphere was delightful, and the service was spectacular. Kevin was our server and he not only patiently waited for over an hour while my guest and I caught up with each other, but he also made terrific suggestions for lunch. The food and drinks were fantastic. Definitely comfortable highly recommending Mirabelle.
We went for lunch. Quality of the food was quite high. However the portions were particularly small, even for a restaurant in this price range.
Wonderful food, inventive, great service! Cant wait to return
Attentive waiters and outstanding chef, with an evident commitment to quality and innovation.
You cannot do better than Mirabelle. The food was outstanding in every way - taste and presentation. The service could not be better - from recommendations, knowledge, commitment to product and perfect discretion. I cannot recommend highly enough.
Excellent food! Enjoyed my soft shell crab sliders.
Lunch at Mirabelle with a friend visiting from Europe, was a great pleasure. The menu is varied and sensibly priced—and completely delicious. We had a pasta with morel mushrooms and seasonal soft shell crabs—and both totally outstanding. We had a bottle of rose with our lunch, and it-too-was great—actually had body, depth and taste. Mirabelle—as they say in restaurant critic language-is worth a journey!
I loved the food and the ambiance. However,I think it’s pricy for the food you receive!I ordered the lobster which was delicious, but it consisted of 4
tiny portions which were really more like an appetizer!
The restaurant should serve larger main course portions!
Otherwise,an excellent restaurant with a chic vibe...
The food was excellent. And the wine expert named Brent offered amazing pairings and wonderful stories. He made the whole evening enjoyable. Can’t wait to go back.
It doesn’t get any better. Each experience at Mirabelle is better than the last. Jennifer and her team are driven by excellence and warmth. A very special place in every regard.
After a hiatus, we went back to Mirabelle to taste Chef Bombaugh's creations. Overall, a very positive and pleasant experience. The soft shell crab was an absolute delight with its sauce, balance and creativity . The pasta dish (Ricci) requires some more thought: it did not seem to hang together. The heavy creamy sauce overwhelmed the king crab and the sea urchin melange served on the side did not contribute to the dish. (The pasta was a bit tepid as well.) The beef was very good, cooked MR to perfection. Deserts were also very good. Delicious cara cara orange sorbet was refreshing. The Rhum with limoncello came across as a bit overwhelming.
Service was perfect as usual. The wine list is made of a wide spectrum of French and American wines; maybe it could be broadened to initially, say, Italy, Spain? The corkage policy is very reasonable (bring a bottle and buy one from the restaurant and the corkage fee is eliminated).
This experience is based on the three savory plus desert prix fixe menu. One can go a la carte as well and next time we'll try that...
(The patron who spoke at length on the speaker phone could have been requested to cease and desist.)
Excellent service and the chef easily accommodated special requests.
We enjoyed the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff. And the sound level of the facility was low enough that we could talk and discuss topics without having to yell or raise the level of our voices. Also, the amount of food for the prix-fixed menu was more than sufficient - we left very satiated. And the food was also excellent, except for the accompanying sauteed mushroom accompanying the grilled duck entree - the braised mushroom should be replaced with another vegetable.
Parking is a hassle (no valet), but otherwise, this restaurant is outstanding. The food is innovative, the drinks are sophisticated, and the ambience is superb. This restaurant is light years better than many of the food critics' favorite restaurants, such as Komi or Rasika. How some of those mediocrities are rated higher than this one is a total mystery to me.
Outstanding. The menu is incredibly inventive and employs some innovative, cutting edge cooking techniques to create unique dishes. Service is fantastic. Just a wonderful experience and a meal like no other.
lovely atmosphere- beautiful presentations
creative names for dishes- memorable experience for my friend's birthday dinner!
Terrific service, very attentive. Food was great. Wife vegetarian special entree, my son’s filet mignon, and my poisson provencal were all very good.
It was Mother's Day. There was a special, delicious menu. The staff was wonderful-- helpful, knowledgeable and very attentive. The food was delicious, start to finish. We're already planning a trip back.
What a lovely experience! Mother's Day brunch--apparently trying a few more "traditional" french cuisine items-i.e. French Onion soup--best ever. Beautiful room, impeccable service.
The food was phenomenal. Loved the Shrimp through Dalis eyes and the foi de gras the best i ever had
Outstanding management, bar service, overall service and magnificent creative menu superbly executed! The restaurant is beautiful and reminds me of the great restaurants we used to have in DC 30+ years ago but in a more modern setting. If you like a 3 Star restaurant in France—go to Mirabelle
We dined at Mirabelle based on a recommendation from our hotel concierge. Everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING, was absolutely wonderful. The craft cocktails were pretty and delish. The menu - oh man... We did the tasting menu. Many tasting menus can be a bit rigid where you get what you get; however, this was totally flexible. Both the presentation and the actual taste of each dish were beyond expectations. Each course was paired with wine so each person in our group got a different wine depending on the dish they selected. Every wine pairing was amazing. While Mirabelle has many popular wines, their somm has done an excellent job curating a list of lesser known but stunning wines. Last but most certainly not least, their service was amazing - from the time we walked in the door to the minute we left. Everyone (hostess, bar, server, manager) made it a point to make our entire experience delightful. DC is not short on great places to eat but Mirabelle is head and shoulders above. Now that I have found them I will go back every time I visit DC. To sum it up: WOW!! Just WOW!
I love this restaurant. The food is delicious, the staff does not rush you and the service is great.
The tasting menu was fantastic
Great, classy place. The food is really good and the service is really friendly. Highly recommended.
