   They sat us in a corner table near electrical outlets that were at eye level. We sat for over 5 minutes before we had anyone acknowledge us, and then at that time was noticed we weren’t given menus. We weren’t told of any specials, which we overheard they had as another waiter told his table a few tables away from us. We heard this after we ordered. Food was good, but overall experience was a fail.

   Our waitress was extremely nice. The issue was that my wife was not brought what she had ordered, with the waitress initially indicating it was. Only after showing her their own menu description did she acknowledge she was new and must have input the wrong item. She then tried billing us for a lesser priced item before going back and getting the manager to approve the item be comp’d altogether, which should have been automatic!! Flip of the coin whether we’ll be back!!

   Let me start with the food was AMAZING! Plus there was a gluten free option for pasta! Yum! And those who ate the bread absolutely loved it! We went to celebrate our daughter’s 10th birthday. We sat on the patio which was nice, not too loud. Sadly, I think being put in the back of most restaurants create an “out of sight, out of mind” experience. This was what happened here. We didn’t get to order dessert because our server (who was pleasant and wished our daughter happy birthday) took so long between rounds to our table. Water refills were also something we gave up waiting for. We took our girl to another place for dessert.

    We were excited to be able to get a reservation on NYE's, and Mio Nonno did not disappoint. We had the Italian sausage appetizer, an excellent choice. Then we both had dinner specials, I had the lobster and shrimp pasta and he had the lamb chops. Finally, we shared the Italian cream cake for dessert. Wonderful meal and service.

    The restaurant is very nice, great servers. Our issue was the excessively low light. We had to tip our menus to the window to read them…and it was only slightly after 5pm. We asked the server if they could turn it up a bit but nothing happened.

    4 wine by the glass, 4 salads, 4 entrees, with tip = $270 Wine: small portions Salads very good and fresh Entrees mediocre. Gnocchi was obviously not made from scratch and uninspiring, chicken pomodoro was tough and the melted mozzarella was leathery and served with a tiny mound of angle hair pasta gone in four bites. The chicken needed a knife for cutting and was very chewy. The russian dish was just OK, and chicken creama was alright, but not well seasoned. We will not return. I wish I had my $270 back and we had gone to Olive Garden.

    The old fashion was awful & not made right. The Russia, my favorite go to dish, was not great. Noodles way over cooked, too soft. Calamari also not great, overcooked

    Outside dining was excellent. Food was tremendous. Music from the grassy area beside the patio was overly loud. Server was having a tough night and didn't do a very good job. He was very friendly, but not particularly attentive.

    We have been to Mio Nonno several times, and the food and service are always excellent. this particular time we had trouble checking in. We made reservations for 6:30 PM, requesting patio seating. When we got there, there were only two tables left on the patio. The hostess said it was going to be a 30 to 45 minute wait. I was surprised and confused because we had reservations. She said that there was no guarantee for patio seating when you make a reservation, so we would be put on a wait list. I said OK. After about 10 minutes, I still noticed an open table outside and there was no one else waiting but us. I asked the hostess why we couldn’t have that table. She said it was because there were other people on the waitlist and it’s first come first serve. I said we’re here first, so can we have the table? She said well, no, because there was going to be a group coming and they were going to need to put tables together. So we waited about 35 minutes when she came to take us to the table. She took us to that exact table we had asked for. Now she says that all those people had decided not to come so we could have the table. Just really odd and unorganized. I think it would help if the restaurant would have specific reservations for the patio as well, and give the hostess some help while it’s so busy. They definitely need some management organizing things.

    I have always had excellent food at Mia Nonno's in Flower Mound. Service is usually very good as well. Can be a bit loud inside, but I really enjoy sitting out on the patio.

    Bad service takes away from good food. We eat at Mio Nonno often. Each time, the service just seems to get worse. We ate there at 7:30 on a Sunday and they were not super busy. After we were seated we sat for a long time with no acknowledgment that we were there, no water, no silverware, etc. We finally had to flag the hostess to ask for a waiter (even though we could see a group of wait staff gathered in front of the kitchen). This is just an example of the overall service. And because we’ve experienced this several time, I don’t think it was just this individual waiter. The food is really good and why we keep going, but always end up feeling frustrated- as the food is not inexpensive.

    Friday nights during the Lakeside Concert Series is the best way to enjoy our experience. My boyfriend and I sat on the patio, shared a bottle of wine over bruschetta and watched the music performance and it was a lot of fun. Not to mention the people watching was perfection. Highly recommend!
