Mio Nonno Trattoria - Victory Park
It was nice
The food and service was great. They have a nice aesthetic but the music was way too loud and cluby for the amount of people in there.
Great experience. Our server was responsive and attentive. Food was awesome. Great location too.
The only complaint- took too long for the food to come to table.
We ordered a cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza and a salad. The cheese pizza arrived runny and the pepperoni pizza was burnt. The salad was sub par. When we asked the waiter about the pizzas, he informed us because they are wood fired it cooks different. The pizzas were not edible. Instead of correcting the quality of the pizzas, we were only offered other items on the menu that were pasta dishes. We will not be going back.
Bday for dad
The menu was varied with options for any diet, the wine list was (for a non-wine snob anyway) excellent, the food was served promptly, at proper temperature, nice portions and deliciously seasoned. Service was excellent. Decor is all concrete and glass - restrooms were small but clean. Directly across from AAC and offering valet parking
great venue before a sporting event or concert - food is prepared perfectly - i had veal and my friend had one of the pasta dishes - started out with the spicy calamari - service good have been a bit more attentive but was eager - will go back again
Bad service which could not make up for ok food, and I have lax standards for Italian food.
From beginning to end our experience was exceptional. Our waiter, Zeke, was outstanding. Very attentive yet not overly disruptive. He was very professional, attentive, and courteous. The food was exceptional and a good value for the quality. The only downside was the noise level inside the restaurant. We asked to be seated on the patio where it was a bit quieter, but the music was still a bit loud. If I go back to this restaurant I will definitely sit on the patio.
Very tasty Italian food however was not impressed with the service. We had a reservation and were placed at a high top by the bar. Not the most ideal place however not the end of the world. Our frustrations were with our waitress Nichole C. We wanted to space out and enjoy our meal as this was an early valentine's date night for us. She made us order our entrees at the same time we ordered our appetizer and assured us she would space them out. Well, our entree arrived as we were still finishing up the appetizer. Then when we were ready for our second round of drinks, she was no where to be found. We were able to order our drinks as our entrees were arriving. Then after we were done eating and were enjoying our second cocktail, she dropped off the ticket and told us other people were waiting for our table. At that point we hadn't even been at the restaurant an hour yet. For a pricey restaurant, it is very frustrating to be rushed through your meal and basically told to leave. While the food was great, the poor service will keep us from coming back.
Close to the AA center!
Food was very good however, the food servers, not the wait staff, need better training. We had ordered salads with entrees and the entrees were brought to our table before the salads had even been delivered.
Such yummy food, terrific service and perfect location for a pre-Mavs game dinner! We usually split a salad and then the lasagna - that way it's not such a heavy meal. And that lasagna is GOOD. We have dined here several times and have only had really great experiences at Mio Nonno at Victory Park.
The pizza was very disappointing. It was way too salty for me. Wish I would have tried the pasta.
Pre-game dinner. This is our go to place. Great food. Great service. Valet parking.
Great service. Timely and thoughtful.
Good food and efficient / courteous introduction at the desk.
Would not accept valid coupon that I had.
The food and service was exceptional!! Perfect place for a great dinner before a game or concert!
This was not my favorite. The food was average and the prices were kind of high for what you get.
Didn't honor a food allergy, rough dinner. Chef and manager don't even know what is in the meal
The calamari was very good — you can ask for mild or spicy tomato sauce! The bursts and all pasta dishes were fantastic. We shared a tiramisu for desert and it was a good choice (good and a large portion — good to share!)
Generally the place is a good place. Food is pretty good, however the entire experience feels like you are in a race to finish your meal. Immediately after being seated you are offered drinks, when the drinks finally show up, you are expected to have your order, because the clock to get you out of the restaurant is ticking (Note to ownership... not EVERYONE who dines at your restaurant needs to get out to the Mavs game by 7:15). not 4 minutes after you give your order, your appetizer shows up, and before you can finish your appetizer, some kids comes and hands you your dinner, having to move your appetizer out of the way. Then the waitress, who never came back to refresh your 1st drink, come s and takes your unfinished appetizer plate. 10 minutes later, while you are still eating, the waitress asks, "are we ready for dessert? Add to the fact that one of the orders was completely wrong, so they quickly (and I mean quickly) get you what you wanted in the 1st place. Its always fun spending $100 at dinner and individually eating a meal. The food is ok, the rest of the experience sucked. Not worth going back.
AA center BB game
Love Mio Nonno! We’ve been to the one in Allen & Victory Park. Excellent food!
great place to eat before bb or hockey game. wasn't that crowed for some reason. food was great
We were craving Italian before the Stars hockey game and were hoping for a nice meal with with great flavor. Mio Nonno Trattoria delivered on all accounts. Wonderful menu offerings, nice presentation and great flavor. Can’t wait to return soon. Too bad we don’t live closer.
incredible place to go. We had tickets to a concert and decided to make it a special night and boy was it. The bar tender was very attentive and friendly. Reservations was on time and food came out hot and fresh. The timing of it all was perfect. I will defiantly go back again. just be sure to make reservations.
Seated thirty minutes after a 6:45 reservation. Walked in and was told to get in line so they clearly had no intentions of honoring our reservation on a show night. If they are too incompetent to manage reservations then they should get off of open table so people can better manage their time. I have never had this experience at any place in the uptown, hardwood, or victory park dining establishments.
Location to AAC was wonderful. Food was excellent. Service was lacking.
Found it to be inconsistant. Convenient to AAC events
I really, really like the food. I really, really like the convenience of meeting clients for dinner across the street from the AAC before a game or concert.
However, the service is consistently bad. Consistently. Bad. It’s slow, servers take forever before stopping by to say hello and provide water, our meals take a while to come out, and once delivered the server rarely returns. We often have to get up to find someone to get an extra napkin or silverware. I don’t think it’s from lack of training. I think you’re chronically understaffed on event nights.
My husband said there’s too many other dining options to return, but I want to give it one more shot.
We chose Mio Nonno because we were going to the Maverick's game that evening. The location is great, just across the street from AAC. However, the service was terrible. The salad came before the wine and the entre came as we were eating our salad. The waiter did not come to collect our salad plates and our table was so small that we had to put our salad plates on the floor by our table. Ten minutes later someone picked up our plates from the floor, but it wasn't our waiter because he didn't return until he wanted to know if we wanted desert. We poured our own wine and flagged servers down to get things like water and pepper on the table. The food was average but reminded me of the Olive Garden quality. Mio clearly relies on their great location to bring in their guest, but evidently does not care whether they return. I will say that the food is better and less expensive than the food in the AAC, so if that is what you are looking for, no service and average food, this is the place for you.
Great restaurant and quickly in and out for Stars game
The pastas were excellent - we had the risotto and lamb pappardelle. We had a nice brisket tá as an appetizer. Nice selection of wines by the glass as well.
The only negative was sitting next to the door when it is cold outside. We arrived around 6 pm and the place was only a quarter filled (a few tables remained open when we left) and we were seated a few tables away from and to the right of the door. There is quite a cold draft when the front door opens — so ask to sit away from the front if you can!
Dinner before a concert. The kids and I truly enjoyed dinner. Our server was very helpful and all her recommendations were delicious. We will be back. They have vegetarian options as well. They also have a nice wine list.
Only thing was our server was kinda rude.... She was a little snappy and was making us feel like we were bothering her by being there.
Love this place!
Staff is great.
Food is tasty.
Always an excellent choice before hockey game.
The food here is great, but this place consistently has issues with service on nights when there are events at the AAC. I've given them 3 tries and sent feedback regarding improvements needed, but it's always the same thing -- overburdened servers and interminable waits for food and for the check. I'll be dining elsewhere from now on.
I am indifferent on recommending this place. The food was great but the service was not good. The waiter was rarely at our table so it was hard to get drinks. I asked for shrimp to be added to my pasta dish and the waiter brought me ONE piece of shrimp on the dish. I did ask a different server (because ours was never around) and they said it’s usually 5 pieces but he specifically wrote the ticket as one?!? They did bring out five once it was ready. If we had a different waiter my review would probably be a great one. Hopefully he was just having a bad day or was new?
