MIO by Amore Vinoteca and Italian Kitchen
MIO Italian Kitchen & Vinoteca is brought to you by the same family who served up your favorite pizzas and pastas at Café Amore, bridging the gap between a pizzeria and fine-dining. When you come to MIO, you will leave your worries behind and relax with friends and family as you enjoy our hand-crafted Tuscan dishes. From our amazing anti-pasta appetizer to our mouth-watering, chicken and shrimp dama bianca, your taste buds will take a journey to the famous olive groves in Italy, where your cares are millions of miles away.
Very good value and the wait staff is very good and knows the menu. Good menu.
The service was a little slow & it felt like the AC wasn’t working. This isn’t our experience in the past. We will give them another chance.
We enjoy this place for it's BYOB option - makes an evening out more reasonable. We were immediately seated as the restaurant was not crowded at 6P (no reservation needed). We were then forgotten for about seven/eight minutes - we decided five more minutes and we would leave. After the ball got rolling, everything was as it should be. The ingredients are fresh and tasty. I personally stay away from their chicken as I have never had it prepared right (could just be me). The shrimp on any dish is fantastic and my husband always enjoys the lobster ravioli. I highly recommend the calamari!
First time to this restaurant and we enjoyed it. Food was very good and service was outstanding.
One of the best local Italian restaurants in the Dallas Metro area
Wonderful server and fantastic food selection. Would reserve again!
MIO is our favorite restaurant. The menu is very extensive and all of the dishes are absolutely delicious. When you walk into the restaurant, you are always greeted by smiling faces. From start to finish, it is always an enjoyable evening!
I like the fact that patrons can still choose to bring their own wine vs. buying it at Mio. The food was good and our waitress was very nice. She didn't rush us to order but let us move at our own pace. Since we had a 20% discount coupon, the price for our meal was very nice!!
Absolutely recommend. Have eaten there DOZENS of times. Never a bad meal. Food & preparation excellent.
Food was excellent. Desserts were great. Moderate prices. Good value. Could have done without the Accordion player.
Our fav bypb Italian place. Aiken is great and always takes good care of us
Great place for “date night”. We lived the flatbread and calamari appetizers. Mio is now on my short list of best places to go for my favorite Italian meals: Linguini & White Clam sauce.. delish!!
Another really good meal and service (Aida always attentive)
Great meal, service and ambiance. We loved our Turkish waiter. Very personable. We also loved the accordion music. Very talented and unobtrusive background music. We’ll be back.
Best deal around for New Year’s Eve dinner. Prix Fixe dinner for two with bottle of wine for $80. We had shrimp cocktail and Charcuterie plate as appetizers. Shrimp were fresh tasting, according to the menu it was supposed to come with 4, however ours only had 3. When we brought it to the waitress’ attention she did apologize and bring out another plus an extra! Cheese, variety of sliced salami, crackers, olives and mustard very nice as well. Salads were fresh, nothing out of ordinary. Entrees ordered were double lamb chops with veggies and side of gnocchi, and Surf and Turf which consisted of 2 large shrimp and small filet with same veggies and gnocchi. The meat on both our plates were cooked to order and very tender. Lamb Chops were very small, not much meat, but I suppose for the price point it is to be expected. Dessert was kind of rushed on us before we were ready, it was put down on the table before dinner plates were taken, that I didn’t like. By that time there were plenty of open tables, so There weren’t people waiting. Also, We were supposed to each get dessert but waitress said they were out of some of the smaller portions so she said we had to share and could only choose one thing, Didn’t make sense at all, but we agreed to the Italian Cream cake, which was very good. This is probably the third year we’ve been for NYE and would go again.
Great meal for a great price.
Eva was an excellent server.
Unfortunately, we had a horrible food experience here. All of our pasta sauces were best described as watery, with very little taste. The bread was something out of a box.
The service was very good, but we won’t be back due to the lackluster food.
We have eaten here many times and it never disappoints. The lasagna is the best I've had. Love the BYOB option.
It was our Christmas famioly gathering and you made the gathering just wonderful
Great family and friends dining:)
Food. App of goat feta cheese baked was delicious. Tossed salads good value delicious house-made dressing.
Lasagna stouffers quality , not great.
Vodka sauce pasta was meh.
Bread good. They throw out your bread when you ask for more, vs. just bringing more
Music, live accordion was honestly more annoying than enjoyable.
Avg food that you would find at a lower end Italian restaurant. Great service. Restaurant needs a face lift.
A neighborhood spot with good Italian food that does not cost a fortune, they do not rush you out so you can enjoy the evening. Osco Buco is always good, along with the appetizers and cippano. The rolls are handmade and fresh from the oven. It was very nice to go a restaurant on a Saturday night where you could actually talk to one another in a party of four without having to yell.
Marsala sauce was very thin. More like a light gravy than a true Marsala sauce
Food is always delicious, especially the Caprese… our favorite of all we've ever had anywhere. Great service, casual and easy to enjoy the evening here.
Always a good meal and good service. We request Indiya when we dine there because she enhances our enjoyment. We have been going there for years and will continue to do so.
Took my family to MIO on Saturday night for the first time. We were looking for authentic Italian and MIO is much more American Italian, which is fine, but not what we really wanted. The restaurant, though not much to look at on the outside, is cute on the inside and we had a great waitress who was very nice.
The problem really is that the food was unremarkable.... at best. The Frito Misto platter was the best thing we had. Nicely fried, with good accompanying sauces. Unfortunately, the fried "baby shrimp" were so small that we thought they had been left off, until we were told that the little bits of what we thought were fried batter knocked from the fryer basket, were the shrimp; they were literally smaller than my pinky fingernail! Anyway, the calamari was great and the peppers super yummy, so it was enjoyed. The entrees were less successful. One daughter had a pizza and it was good, expensive, but tasty. My other daughter had lobster ravioli and while the menu does state that it is a plate of four ravioli, there was enough sauce for 16! It was a giant plate of thick sauce with 4 medium sized ravioli sitting in the middle. Though the flavor was good, the sauce was too thick and the proportions all wrong. I had a farfalle which was ok... nothing special. In fact it was so unmemorable I can't really tell you what was in it now, artichokes and mushrooms maybe.... other stuff too I'm sure, but again the sauce was heavy and flat. My husband had the pasta with chicken and sausage and it was the worst of the bunch. Totally bland and tasted more like green peppers than tomatoes. The meats did nothing to enliven the dish either; it was just, not good.
So why did I give MIO a 3 star review? I guess because the ambiance was nice and the waitress was sweet. The food was meeehhh, but the evening was nice. Wasn't bad enough to give them a bad review, wasn't good enough that we will go back. I guess this review is fitting to MIO itself - middle of the road and kinda bland.
Friendly staff. Great food.
Nice restaurant with good food. Decent wine selection. Staff was very nice. Live music was a plus, although maybe that’s just a Saturday event. Will definitely bring my family back here to eat.
Highly recommend. Great food and great service at a reasonable price.
Food was great as usual and Indiya is always an attentive server.
Dine out several times a week and this is one of the few places we can talk.
We always enjoy meeting at Amore. Indya has been our server on several occasions. She is excellent and I always request her as our server.
Great food, kind and attentive service, excellent cost! Highly recommended!
Our order was wrong, just a simple mistake that was corrected. However our waiter said he would be right back with the fresh Parmesan cheese, so we waited and waited. We finally went to the front and we waited even longer. The manager came to our table to Correct the veal Parmesan and explained to me the other dish was correct just different than I am used to as eggplant parmigiana. The bread was very hard with no flavor. The icing on the cake was the waiter pocketing my change from the bill. Just a very minor thing of .33 but a thief is a thief and I can tell you we won’t be letting the thief get us twice especially when it was pretty bad service and food! Skip this one, there are plenty of good Italian restaurants out there.
I made a reservation for dinner for 8 when my siblings came from out of town for a reunion. It’s close to our home and we like that it’s BYOB, which makes it more affordable. Everyone enjoyed their food choices and the waiter was wonderful, friendly and solicitous. My only negative is that my chicken piccata was pretty dry, not up to the usual standard. But overall it was the perfect place to welcome our family after their long plane flights. My husband and I also like to order their pizza for carry out occasionally, as we love their crust.
Loved the Ziti and Cioppino, amazing value.
We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to host my daughter's 17th birthday dinner on short notice for a large party of 20. The server was accommodating and did not complain about the split checks. The food was delicious, menu options for all and ample space for the large party.
Tonight was fantastic! The food, the service all superb.
This was our first time here and we were so glad we tried it. It will be now one of our go to places for good Italian food.
The food was great, the ability to bring our own wine is wonderful and the server/service was very good. However, again for the second time, the kitchen seemed to be having a little trouble. There was a wedding party it seems, so the kitchen was behind and appeared to run out of a few things. But, what we received, although not necessarily what we ordered, was delicious and our server was so kind, patient and continued to fill us in on the delays. Still one of our favorite restaurants!
