   As close to authentic Brazilian food (not steakhouse) as possible. Live music in such a small place are a big issue if you want to have calm conversations. The food is tasteful, a bit more expensive than expected.

   My wife is Brazilian and so we already know what to expect about Brazilian food and the flavors. Overall Minas did a good job. I got the bife acebolada which was a ribeye cut and my wife got the national dish of feijoada. The only issue i had with my dish was the ribeye was undercooked. A little to medium rare. Feijoada was excellent. The restaurant is small and tight but a good enviornment. A little strange with the entrance not having a host great you. Have to flag down a server. Overall a good Brazilian comfort food spot.

   We traveled from Mountain View to San Francisco. The traffic was awful and we had difficulties to find a place to park. We got there almost 1 hour late. They were closed our table 30 minutes before. I have 2 kids. We stood for an hour, and beside us had an empty table. They did not even let the kids sit down to rest. Finally they moved some friends to the empty table and put us in the place where they were seated.

   A wonderful Brazilian restaurant in the Hayes Valley area of SF permanently closed its doors on Saturday, Nov 3rd. A real loss to the city and the neighborhood!

   Very impressed with the food. Our seafood dinner served in a pineapple was very good. All the dishes being served to people around us looked very interesting.

   We were told the fryer wasn’t working but they got it working. We were then told they were closing the restaurant for good with no plan to open another location.

   Mina’s Brazilian, and Canto Do Brasil before it, has been. San Francisco mainstay for several years. It is with profound sadness that yesterday, I ate my final meal there knowing it will be closing forever on November 2. I’m still in a state of disbelief. This isn’t your typical Brazilian steakhouse, this is pure Brazilian food. There is no other reataurant like it around here and it will be sorely missed.

    Terrible terrible service. Made me wait 1 hour (not exagerating) for a salad without warning me before that I would have to wait that long for the "Special preparation" of the chicken, which ended up being the most plain chicken over salad which I have ever tasted. I was with a friend so they brought out her hot food 45 minutes before they brought out my salad-- both of which our main courses. Did not even offer some small appetizer or beverage or discount off the receipt for the inconvenience of causing the wait. The food here is very special but the service is extremely lacking and makes me not surprised that they are going out of business. Very disappointing over all
