Not sure how the reviews have been high. Our experience was quite bad. We got dropped off at a table and no one came to greet us for quite awhile. When the waitress did show up, she dropped the cocktail menu in front of us and immediately asked if we were ready to order drinks. Really? Couldn’t give us s couple minutes? She obviously didn’t want to make a trip back to the table to allow us time to look at the menu. So she walks away annoyed and doesn’t come back. I had to flag her down to give her our drink order. Many moons later the drinks show up and my girlfriend’s tea was barely lukewarm. But since she took off immediately and refused to make eye contact with us, we couldn’t tell her what was going on. About 20 minutes later we finally ordered some food. When it started to come out, my food came out first and my girlfriends didn’t show up. I sat for TWENTY minutes trying to flag her down. Eventually I had to literally talk very loudly across the restaurant saying “Excuse me” to get her attention. She said she’d check on it and never came back. We waited even longer. Turned out she screwed up the order and didn’t put my girlfriend’s order in. Mind you, this was my girlfriend’s birthday dinner. Eventually her food came almost 40 minutes later. Our drinks were empty and she never asked if we wanted anything else. I had to ask the table busser to order me another drink. Of course he wasn’t happy about that. All in all it was a 2 hour dinner with 20 minutes of actual eating. To add insult to injury, I made arrangements ahead of time to have a birthday dessert for her. I told them my girlfriend was lactose intolerant. What did they bring out? A single scoop of ice cream and something that looked like a flan. Ridiculous. Thanks for ruining a special dinner dinner! I won’t be back.

Had early dinner at 3:30 for Father’s Day, a perfect time for a party of 3 that includes a vision and mobility challenged 85 y.o. Great ambience with low noice level before the happy hour crowd. This is our second visit and it was even more memorial. The favorites are seaweed wrapped uni/toro (off menu) and sashimi combo (including amazingly fatty king salmon sashimi), uni & wagyu rolls, and fish pot. Even the vegetable tempura was excellent as well. The senior in our group lived in Japan and gave two thumbs up to the quality of sashimi and nigiri - one of the best in the area. The uni is from Hokkaido, very fresh and has a uniquely sweet taste that lingers long after the bite. Just uni alone is worth a trip to Minamoto where the essence of traditional Japanese seafood cuisine is still preserved amid creative fusion dishes.

The food was excellent and extremely quick to arrive at our table (we ordered sushi only, no hot food). Our primary server was rather disinterested/inattentive, but everyone else was very responsive and helpful. A little pricey, but the food was delish.

This place had decent lunch options,so my third time around i came in for dinner. My recommendation will be..... do not waste your money and stay away from dinner menu. Do yourself a favor by saving your lovely taste buds. Wagu sushi was over priced and terrible. It was so tough i couldn't chew no more and had to swallow the thing. Uni was okay..but idk for a 25bucks a piece..okay shouldn't be described.
Mushroom pot something in almond milk was so gross. We took a sip and looked at each other...gave wt.....look @.@ I've had better hospital food than that. So save your $500 go somewhere else.

1. Grilling meat on the table where sushi is served doesn’t work well. Tables do not have overhead fans. When diners next to our table started grilling meat on their table, the smoke and smell were not very pleasant.
2. Menu needs to be kept clean. My menu was wet with water. If menu is not clean, you wonder how their kitchen would be.

We dined here for Mother's Day. Our first time. The food was delicious and we'll certainly return. Service was a little slow. We weren't offered the opportunity to order drinks before our food order was taken and no one asked if we wanted dessert. Not a huge deal, but you would think on a "holiday" we might splurge...which I would have. Oh well, but the food was certainly worth a return visit.

I have traveled to Japan many times for work. This restaurant is probably closest to actual Japanese food here on the east side. They also serve lunch but that’s so so. Dinner though....wowzer. Just too good. Not cheap.. we were 300 in with the 4 of us, but definitely recommend!!

Minamoto gave us a rare true Japanese experience. From the subtle service to the beautifully arranged food and quality of every ingredient served, we strongly recommend. They were super organized for mother's day. Table was ready on time and the staff was very courteous and not intrusive. Well done.

My wife and I had a special occasion to celebrate and wanted to do something memorable and I am so glad that we decided to try Minamoto and their Omakase (Chef’s choice) experience. The food was simply on an entire other level so far above what I had experienced before in Japanese cuisine. The experience of sitting at the bar and watching the chefs create the dishes was so much fun. I couldn’t recommend this place more highly!

A tad salty on a few food items. Should have given my comments to the chef while I was there. The King Crab Don Nabe had ikura on it which looked pretty but because of the saltiness of the king crab, they over powered each other and the dish was both salty and “fishy”. For the Chirashi, it was beautiful and wonderful fish wise. The rice, if they didn’t have any furikake on it would have made the dish even better. I enjoyed my experience there but I feel that some of the dishes didn’t match the price point they were going for....

Service was attentive and the food was good. Sushi and our drinks were amazing. However, we were expecting the Beef Sukiyaki to be more flavorful.
They have a great selection of Japanese beer and wine.

Good food, beautifully presented but tiny servings on the specials. 2 hours free parking next door with almost all seriously small spaces, truly compact. Took forever to get our check, even after providing credit card.

The gyoza was the best ever. Sushi presentation fabulous. Drinks ridiculously priced, 45 dollars for a half carafe of Saki. Expensive but unusual beers you never see anywhere. Great place if you have a big wad of money to burn.

The food was excellent but service was rather lacking. Service was good when we first arrived but after we ordered we didn't see a server for over 15 minutes then one person received their meal. About 15 minutes later the other 4 meals arrived. After another 15 to 20 minutes a server asked is the food was ok. In about another 10 to 15 minutes, a server brought a special birthday dessert to one of our party but we had to remind them that we all had ordered the lunch set that includes dessert and we would like it. It took an additional 15-20 minutes to get and pay the bill. We asked to have our parking pass validated but when we left the garage it cost us $10 for the parking.

The potstickers, Godzilla rolls and fried rice(both mushroom and wagyu) were delicious. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that it took at least 15 minutes to get my credit card back (there were only 3 other tables with customers) and, the host validated my parking which did not work in the garage so I had to pay $7.

A very different sushi experience for us but absolutely delicious. The rolls were very fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. It was nice to not see typical “Japanese” food on the menu. A very unique and wonderful menu. However, I missed not being able to sit at a “sushi bar” and talk to the chef and watch his artistry.

We had an incredible omakase experience. My son and I headed out for a special dinner and were pleasantly surprised by every bite. From the hand ground wasabi and home pickled ginger to the incredible nigiri and other traditional dishes. This place gives other more famous places a run for the money.

The food presentation was lovely. The kitchen was efficient--our food came out quickly. Just as we'd finished one course, the next would arrive. The food was good, and a few things were very good, including the sushi. Our group tried 8 dishes. Our favorites: gyoza, chasu udon, nigiri sushi, lava steak.

The serving staff needs more training. Our waiter didn't seem very familiar with the menu and couldn't answer several of our questions. He even misidentified a type of fish as a vegetable. Also, the staff tried to clear dishes off our table before we were done with them on three separate occasions. At no time did they pause to ask if we were finished.

Even though we didn't order drinks or dessert, the bill came to $75 a head before tip. And, we avoided ordering the most expensive items on the menu. Not sure if we'll go back.

One of the best sushi in town. Bit expensive but fresh food and great service. Dinner is different (better) than lunch....like 3 vs 5 stars. Also a great sign that more than 80% of customers are Japanese. Definitely not Japanese/American fusion.

We enjoy Minamoto for the awesome sushi and other Japanese dishes. The A5 Wagyu that you cook on the Lava rock is always an amazing choice and the Wagyu Sukiyaki is so good. They have a large selection of Japanese whisky. If your a truffle lover try the Truffle rice and the Truffle ice cream for dessert!! It is amazing.
