We are regulars at Mimosa, and almost always have a first class meal and experience there. This Mother's Day was exceptional beyond ordinary, for the friendly, prompt service, and the delicious menu. The proprietors are always welcoming and thankful for the business, and make their customers feel appreciated!
everything was slow. food was underwhelming.
I was a little disappointed in the service. There was absolutely no hustle with our waiter. Especially in mothers day. Limited menu, which in understand it keeps the kitchen at a good pace. However, our food took so long to get to the table.
Everything we ordered was good in flavor and temperature. The mango mimosas we ordered were tasty as well.
I probably wouldn't come again for a special occasion.
We went on Mother’s Day. It was a little slow in getting our meal, but well worth the wait. Our waiter was friendly but a little unorganized. But again it was busy and Mother’s Day. We will definitely be back.
The food was really good but above all the service was outstanding! I would definitely recommend this place and we'll be back as well.
We enjoyed our early Mother’s Day brunch! We will be back.
Food was amazing and of course the mimosas are amazing too! Will definitely go again.
My wife and I have been going to Mimosa from time to time over the past few years, since the new owners, Stephen and his wonderful wife (I forget her name) took over. First of all, the food is some of the best I've ever tasted, and I've eaten in some of the best restaurants in the country from my career of business travel. Their current chef is creative and skillful.
On most weeknights, the business is very slow, which concerns us, because we want to keep this place in business! They do a lively business for Sunday brunch, but otherwise it's been very quiet very time we've gone in. Stephen is almost always there and is very personable and comes over to visit and is very concerned with this customers' satisfaction with the food and the experience.
We had bacon-wrapped quail legs in a house aioli sauce and a crab appetizer special. The quail legs are absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The Mimosa’s Lump Crab and Egg Specialty had a softly scrambled egg, folded into lump crab meat and then skillfully placed into a crab shell and served with delicious greens. Just the right size for an appetizer!
For our main courses, my wife had the Chilean sea bass, which she raved about. I had the trout meuniere amandine, which was also delicious, and a very generous serving of two filets. The saffron rice and vegetables under the sea bass, and the garlic mousseline potatoes and mixed vegetables under the trout were also worthy of their own meal! We accompanied this with a bottle of Louis Latour Pouilly-Fuisse from their incredible list of reasonably priced fine wines! (Last time we went, we had the Chateau Talbot 2012.)
We then each enjoyed a delicious Tuxedo Truffle Mousse Cake, and I am not a dessert eater!
Our waiter, Austin, did a great job and was very attentive.
I highly recommend Mimosa to any foodophiles!
Thank you for this wonderful review. I'm glad you enjoy the dinner as much as the wine. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.
The food was very good. We had the escargot and quail for hors de ouvres and both were very nice. We had the chicken cordon bleu and the filet for our main course, also very good. The place was nearly empty on a Saturday night. The interior decor struggles to be authentic French in a strip mall environment. The service was very attentive and made accommodations for the items listed on the menu which were not available.
Thank you for the wonderful review. Glad you enjoyed the escargot and the quail. Looking forward to seeing you again.
Celebrating my daughters birthday...overall experience was superb. Food was awesome, service was great and ambiance second to none. We are frequent dinners at Mimosas and will continue to be. Stephen and his team have always done a fabulous job for us.
Thank you for the wonderful 5 Star review. Glad she had a good time and hope to see you again.
Our service was slow, the decor seemed dark and old. The hostess stand had strange curtains on each side of it. Though the omelette was decent, the eggs benedict was weak with a 1/4 piece of thin deli ham on it. The egg was poached well yet the hollandaise sauce was room temperature. The restaurant was very loud. The plastic banner hanging outside listing specials should have been our first clue to turn around. Eater be warned - this is not a French bistro.
Friendly waitstaff, good breakfast potatoes, decent chicken and waffles. However the food served did not match the menu description. The Paleo omelet was done with whole eggs, not egg whites. The coastal omelette was made with broken pieces of crab cake, not jumbo lump crab. The ambience was not elegant, there were noticeable large water stains on the ceiling tiles.
Thank you for your feedback. I apologize that the Paleo omelet was not made correctly. I've spoken to the chef. Regarding the Coastal Omelet, it is made with a Lump Crab cake not "Jumbo" lump crab. This adds a much needed texture to the dish. Regarding the ceiling tiles, the roof is in the process of being replaced and its why there is all the construction equipment out front. Of course it rained during this process and once they complete the roof we will have the tiles replaced.
Even with reservations for brunch ..we still had to wait approx 10 min. The hostess also cleans and sets table.. only one server in our side of the restaurant so service is a bit slow. But...food was delicious. I had the breakfast croissant and French toast... soooo good. Husband had breakfast plate.
Overall pretty good. Will definitely go back
Thank you for the 5 stars. We appreciate your patronage. Glad you had a good time. Yes, the hostess is the owner and our 14 yr old daughter works in the back helping the waitstaff. Hope to see you again soon.
Th cheese on the fromage plate looked interesting but lacked on taste.
The ribeye was cooked well, however, it tasted as if it were basted in A1 sauce.
The salad was fresh, tasty and presented beautifully.
The deserts were delicious.
Thank you for your feed back and your patronage. I do apologize that we didn't meet your expectations and do hope you give us another try.
Mimosa offered a lovely dining experience in a quaint, romantic setting. Food and service was top notch! Try the duck and filet, they were deliciously prepared.
Thank you for the 5 stars. We appreciate your patronage. Glad you had a good time and that you enjoyed the duck and the filet. Hope to see you again soon.
Waiter was very friendly but not a good waiter. He brought out steaks but we didn’t have steak knives. Actually no knives. Took agile to get so couldn’t eat our steaks. My husband got scotch. They ran out and had to go next door to buy more.
Food was ok. Did not taste fresh. Entree was cold.
We will not be back.
Thank you for your feedback. I can understand your frustration. I do apologize that you didn't have an excellent experience. Additionally, we didn't run out of the French Oak Reserve 15 yr Glenlivet, but I do want to personally apologize to you that your waiter seriously misinformed you that we had; and, I most certainly didn't run next door to buy more. I do hope you can see past this and give us another try.
We so enjoyed our family birthday brunch celebration. Something for everyone on the menu. Food was absolutely delicious! Staff was super attentive. And the chef graciously came out to greet and ensure all was well! Can’t wait to get back there again!
Thank you for the 5 stars. We appreciate your patronage. Glad you had a good time. Hope to see you again soon.
Sunday brunch with family. Good selection of food choices. Excellent selection of mimosa choices, as befits the restaurant name. Busy time but service was good and prompt. Noise level was easily low enough for comfortable table conversation.
Service was very slow and they seemed to be understaffed for a weekend night. First 2 courses were well prepared. Desert tasted like it may have come from a package.
The fish meal I ordered was beautifully presented and very delicious! The mixed vegetables were fresh and perfectly steamed and displayed as was the tiny red and white skinned new potatoes. The steak meal ordered at my table did not look as good as mine and it covered more than half the plate it was so large. Reportedly it was not as tasty and tender as the $10 small rib eye we enjoy at Texas Roadhouse. I appreciated the free wine sampling (3 or 4 in all) and the opportunity to order only a glass of wine instead of a whole bottle. The only desert offered on the Restaurant Week menu was very good and twice the size we could eat, but it packaged nicely to take home. I'll go back to enjoy the wine tasting again and see what other offerings are on the regular menu. All in all, Mimosa was a very pleasant experience. Thanks.
It was a quiet Friday night when we went. After the holidays. The duck & the sea bass ( different species) they put on the menu was just outstanding. Their wine list is awesome & bar as well. Service was excellent. Good neighborhood restaurant. The owner Stephen ( ? ) was great. We will be back for dinner & will try their brunch too.
Wonderful food and service.
My wife and I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere for brunch.
The wine selection is exquisite!
We had an outstanding New Year's Eve special meal with excellent service and delicious options. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Great place for a quite evening without kids. Food was okay. Service was good.
Food was good but slightly cool. Wine was great and staff was too.
Brunch. Food delicious. Mimosa is excellent. Two hours for brunch due to slow waiter service. Have been there a few times before and will return but, service definitely slow for the earlier day brunch.
We went for brunch. The selection Of Mimosas was extensive and the menu choices were nice too. We had a nice time. I would recommend making a reservation if you are going for brunch. The restaurant was packed. The service was a little slow, but he was good when he was at the table. Also, my eggs were almost hard boiled. The manager fixed it without any issues. All in all we all had a nice get together and would go back.
Thank you for the nice review. Glad we were able to fix your egg. Glad you had a good time and hope to see you again soon.
Recent menu change, they now don’t offer many gluten free friendly options. Service was slow and we witnessed people waiting who eventually left because no one greeted them. It seems like they might be having staffing issues. I’ve been a customer for several years and the overall quality isn’t there anymore.
Thank you for your feedback. Sorry we didn't meet your expectations. We do offer a number of gluten free options. In all, 9 gluten free or can easily be made gluten free items on our brunch menu, and most of our dinner menu is or can be made gluten free as well. Additionally, we have a good mix of reservations and walk-in customers; therefore, a walk-in customer may not want to wait and choose to leave. We do greet everyone at the door.
The menu selection and quality of the food at Mimosa is amazing. I've been here a handful of times and have always been impressed. Also, the service has been outstanding every time.
Eggs Benedict were barely warm and nearly hard boiled. It clearly spent too much time waiting to come out which was probably due to the lack of wait staff. The potential for a great brunch is there but execution was lacking this time. Since we live nearby i will try it again but it will be hard not to drive a little farther and go to Cappy’s.
This is definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood! My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner there. It is a tastefully decorated restaurant that resembles those restaurants you would see on some quiet street in Paris. We ordered some traditional French dish, Duck confit and chicken cordon bleu. Both were delicious and authentic. We were mostly impressed by the lobster bisque we had as there were lots of real lobster meat in it. There were also plenty of French wines to choose from and the owner was very knowledgeable about the wines and patient with our wine tasting. The server was also very attentative and pleasant to talk to. This is a great place to have a romantic dinner.
It was a bad night for the chef and the owner even came out to all of the diners and personally admitted this. They got my wifes order wrong and brought out another meal which was cold. Mine was burnt. It was an awful experience. We are not going back!
We had an absolutely wonderful experience. Our server, Thomas, was friendly, made us a wonderful pitcher of mimosas, and got our food out quickly, since we mentioned we were on a time crunch to catch a movie. I had the chicken cordon bleu, and my boyfriend had the mango salmon. Both dishes had generous portions, and tasted amazing. The owner even came over to check on us and make sure we were enjoying our meal. Highly recommend, whether for brunch or dinner.
Food is good, but service was a little off this visit. Great selection of brunch and lunch entrees and of course an extensive list of mimosa options! Our server was very young and just needs a little more experience (perhaps some additional training) - had to come back to ask me what I ordered because he couldn't read his own writing! The food that was brought out to me was not what I ordered, the person who brought out my order (not our waiter) apologized profusely and said she would fix it and get my food out as soon as possible - which she did, because the food was out pretty quickly. Our server then came over to apologize and said his manager gave him the wrong code to enter for the entrée I ordered. Nevertheless, he took responsibility for his mistake and overall, we still had an enjoyable time. Will probably go again.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Highly recommend
This place was just okay. The service was good, the wine list was good. Will have to come back and try it one more time, but the food was just okay. Nothing exciting to say. Servers were polite and friendly but honestly didn't know much about the wine list or the menu. Courses weren't fired correctly. We always try to support independent local restaurants, but sadly, this one didn't stand out in any particular way.
Food was good however the service was poor. There were only 2 employees in the Front of House - manager and 1 server. Both were very nice and friendly however were stretched. Took 10 minutes to be greeted at the host stand, another 10 min. to get water, another 15 to place order. Great food, bad scheduling on behalf of mgmt, especially during rest. week.
