Our service was slow, the decor seemed dark and old. The hostess stand had strange curtains on each side of it. Though the omelette was decent, the eggs benedict was weak with a 1/4 piece of thin deli ham on it. The egg was poached well yet the hollandaise sauce was room temperature. The restaurant was very loud. The plastic banner hanging outside listing specials should have been our first clue to turn around. Eater be warned - this is not a French bistro.
Friendly waitstaff, good breakfast potatoes, decent chicken and waffles. However the food served did not match the menu description. The Paleo omelet was done with whole eggs, not egg whites. The coastal omelette was made with broken pieces of crab cake, not jumbo lump crab. The ambience was not elegant, there were noticeable large water stains on the ceiling tiles.
Even with reservations for brunch ..we still had to wait approx 10 min. The hostess also cleans and sets table.. only one server in our side of the restaurant so service is a bit slow. But...food was delicious. I had the breakfast croissant and French toast... soooo good. Husband had breakfast plate.
Overall pretty good. Will definitely go back
Th cheese on the fromage plate looked interesting but lacked on taste.
The ribeye was cooked well, however, it tasted as if it were basted in A1 sauce.
The salad was fresh, tasty and presented beautifully.
The deserts were delicious.
Mimosa offered a lovely dining experience in a quaint, romantic setting. Food and service was top notch! Try the duck and filet, they were deliciously prepared.
Waiter was very friendly but not a good waiter. He brought out steaks but we didn’t have steak knives. Actually no knives. Took agile to get so couldn’t eat our steaks. My husband got scotch. They ran out and had to go next door to buy more.
Food was ok. Did not taste fresh. Entree was cold.
We will not be back.
We so enjoyed our family birthday brunch celebration. Something for everyone on the menu. Food was absolutely delicious! Staff was super attentive. And the chef graciously came out to greet and ensure all was well! Can’t wait to get back there again!
Sunday brunch with family. Good selection of food choices. Excellent selection of mimosa choices, as befits the restaurant name. Busy time but service was good and prompt. Noise level was easily low enough for comfortable table conversation.
Service was very slow and they seemed to be understaffed for a weekend night. First 2 courses were well prepared. Desert tasted like it may have come from a package.
The fish meal I ordered was beautifully presented and very delicious! The mixed vegetables were fresh and perfectly steamed and displayed as was the tiny red and white skinned new potatoes. The steak meal ordered at my table did not look as good as mine and it covered more than half the plate it was so large. Reportedly it was not as tasty and tender as the $10 small rib eye we enjoy at Texas Roadhouse. I appreciated the free wine sampling (3 or 4 in all) and the opportunity to order only a glass of wine instead of a whole bottle. The only desert offered on the Restaurant Week menu was very good and twice the size we could eat, but it packaged nicely to take home. I'll go back to enjoy the wine tasting again and see what other offerings are on the regular menu. All in all, Mimosa was a very pleasant experience. Thanks.
It was a quiet Friday night when we went. After the holidays. The duck & the sea bass ( different species) they put on the menu was just outstanding. Their wine list is awesome & bar as well. Service was excellent. Good neighborhood restaurant. The owner Stephen ( ? ) was great. We will be back for dinner & will try their brunch too.
Wonderful food and service.
My wife and I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere for brunch.
The wine selection is exquisite!
We had an outstanding New Year's Eve special meal with excellent service and delicious options. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Great place for a quite evening without kids. Food was okay. Service was good.
Food was good but slightly cool. Wine was great and staff was too.
Brunch. Food delicious. Mimosa is excellent. Two hours for brunch due to slow waiter service. Have been there a few times before and will return but, service definitely slow for the earlier day brunch.
We went for brunch. The selection Of Mimosas was extensive and the menu choices were nice too. We had a nice time. I would recommend making a reservation if you are going for brunch. The restaurant was packed. The service was a little slow, but he was good when he was at the table. Also, my eggs were almost hard boiled. The manager fixed it without any issues. All in all we all had a nice get together and would go back.
Recent menu change, they now don’t offer many gluten free friendly options. Service was slow and we witnessed people waiting who eventually left because no one greeted them. It seems like they might be having staffing issues. I’ve been a customer for several years and the overall quality isn’t there anymore.
The menu selection and quality of the food at Mimosa is amazing. I've been here a handful of times and have always been impressed. Also, the service has been outstanding every time.
Eggs Benedict were barely warm and nearly hard boiled. It clearly spent too much time waiting to come out which was probably due to the lack of wait staff. The potential for a great brunch is there but execution was lacking this time. Since we live nearby i will try it again but it will be hard not to drive a little farther and go to Cappy’s.
This is definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood! My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner there. It is a tastefully decorated restaurant that resembles those restaurants you would see on some quiet street in Paris. We ordered some traditional French dish, Duck confit and chicken cordon bleu. Both were delicious and authentic. We were mostly impressed by the lobster bisque we had as there were lots of real lobster meat in it. There were also plenty of French wines to choose from and the owner was very knowledgeable about the wines and patient with our wine tasting. The server was also very attentative and pleasant to talk to. This is a great place to have a romantic dinner.
It was a bad night for the chef and the owner even came out to all of the diners and personally admitted this. They got my wifes order wrong and brought out another meal which was cold. Mine was burnt. It was an awful experience. We are not going back!
We had an absolutely wonderful experience. Our server, Thomas, was friendly, made us a wonderful pitcher of mimosas, and got our food out quickly, since we mentioned we were on a time crunch to catch a movie. I had the chicken cordon bleu, and my boyfriend had the mango salmon. Both dishes had generous portions, and tasted amazing. The owner even came over to check on us and make sure we were enjoying our meal. Highly recommend, whether for brunch or dinner.
Food is good, but service was a little off this visit. Great selection of brunch and lunch entrees and of course an extensive list of mimosa options! Our server was very young and just needs a little more experience (perhaps some additional training) - had to come back to ask me what I ordered because he couldn't read his own writing! The food that was brought out to me was not what I ordered, the person who brought out my order (not our waiter) apologized profusely and said she would fix it and get my food out as soon as possible - which she did, because the food was out pretty quickly. Our server then came over to apologize and said his manager gave him the wrong code to enter for the entrée I ordered. Nevertheless, he took responsibility for his mistake and overall, we still had an enjoyable time. Will probably go again.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Highly recommend
This place was just okay. The service was good, the wine list was good. Will have to come back and try it one more time, but the food was just okay. Nothing exciting to say. Servers were polite and friendly but honestly didn't know much about the wine list or the menu. Courses weren't fired correctly. We always try to support independent local restaurants, but sadly, this one didn't stand out in any particular way.
Food was good however the service was poor. There were only 2 employees in the Front of House - manager and 1 server. Both were very nice and friendly however were stretched. Took 10 minutes to be greeted at the host stand, another 10 min. to get water, another 15 to place order. Great food, bad scheduling on behalf of mgmt, especially during rest. week.
The food was excellent. The service was extremely slow but the server (there was only one) extremely polite and did the very best he could. It is always a pleasant atmosphere. We had no time restriction so we were alright but someone else might not have been. Maybe someone didn't show up for work that day!
One of the best brunch spots in charlotte. I come over so often and this place never lets me down. Outstanding choice!
We had a wonderful time. The food was great and they have several options. Our server, Kimie, was very friendly and provided excellent service. The owner came to check on us and was very down to earth. We absolutely recommend going to this place, make a reservation though, trust me on that one.
although it took 4-5 minutes to be acknowledged and a little long to be seated, the food was great!
We thought this was a great find. It is an out of the way place , stuck in a corner by Walker Ranch apartments. The better surprise was the excellent food , single guitar music and well configured wine list.
Feels like we discovered a hidden gem at lunch during restaurant week. Vichyssoise +quiche+peach tarte super rich and satisfying. French dip with thick jus on yummy bagette + chocolate sweet cream crepe memorable. Our server David was very friendly and helpful. Even owner Steve came by to check on us and talked about the food. Can't wait to come back and try weekend brunch.
went for restaurant week menu. was super impressed with the portion sizes. unfortunately some of our food was overly salty. we actually had to send back our calamari that was so salty it was inedible. they graciously remade it for us but it was still too salty. the quiche and salads however were perfect. dessert was decadent. we will definitely still go back. really enjoyed the ambiance and our server was very friendly.
Excelente ambience, food and service. Exceptional wines
We were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance. Had the house mimosa and it was very tasty. We were there for brunch and tried the quail legs, shrimp and grits and Stephens quiche. Shrimp was fresh and done perfectly. The grits were nicely seasoned. Quail was a nice opener. The quiche was some of the best I've ever had! We will definitely be back and bring friends. Do not be put off by the location. This is a true jewel.
Great food and great service. This is the place that you want to take special friends and guest for a meal well worth the time and effort. That’s the weather for the specials; and any special food requests.
This will be a dining experience that you and your friends will be able talk about for a long time to come.
