Mimmo's Italian Village
Mimmo's Italian Village was started by Vincenzo "Mimmo" Gaglio, originally from Montelepre, Sicily. Before arriving in San Diego, Gaglio sharpened his cooking skills in Tunisia, New York City, Ontario, California, and finally, San Diego.
There are lunch and dinner menus at Mimmo's Italian Village. For the former, you can choose items like the eggplant parmesan, fettuccine alfredo and spicy shrimp linguine. If you stop into Mimmo's Italian Village for dinner, you can enjoy popular options like the stuffed mushrooms, calamari fritti, specialty pastas or any of a number of traditional pasta dishes.

Mimmo’s He is always great and very special with all of their pastor being homemade and outstanding choice sauces. As close to Italy as you will get without going through the country! Highly recommended!
Was disappointed this time....food came to the table just warm......waiter didn’t come around till about ten minutes after the food came to check what the food was like. Was offered to reheat it but by that time I had eaten enough and was ticked that the waiter didn’t come around sooner. They were not busy at all so that was not an excuse. Also the food itself was bland...it was the sauce that was so good. Last time we were here it was perfect. Food was hot and waiter was excellent. So I guess it depends on who is the cook and who you get for a waiter.
It was a great dinner that got dampened by a party of about 16+ that left us with a sore taste.
Food was great! A few small errors that could be fixed with time and questions, like the menu says all salads come with a vinegarette but I asked to add blue cheese to the salad so we just got blue cheese dressing instead. Entrees and appetizers were perfect! Wine is affordable and priced low so come and enjoy great food and wine. Lot of other options around but this was enjoyable and great!
We had a room off to the side for our group which was very nice. We were there on a Sunday night and it wasn't too crowded, however the service was slow. But everything we ate was delicious and I would definitely go back next time I am in San Diego.
Very rushed service. It’s clear they want you in and out as quickly as possible. Our main course came while we were still working ok our appetizers.
We went early for my husband's 76th birthday. We took advantage of 1/2 off on wine and small plates before 6:00pm. Especially, in winter when it gets dark early, this is a nice option. We found two small plates and a full salad shared was a perfect amount of food and delicious. Small plates are generous and generally easy to share. The house red wine for the evening was a Merlot and was smooth and delicious. The restaurant gifted us dessert complete with a sparkler to make the evening more festive.
Great food and atmosphere
Meatballs mushrooms delish blackened chicken dry Alfredo ok
Made a reservation for Valentine's day. Was seated immediately. Food, service, and wine was great.
Romantic setting , food was really good and great place for date night .
Food was a delicious as it was last time we were in SD about 4 years ago. Keep up the good work
Good food, a little pricey for what it is though! We had slow service but it allowed us to enjoy our expensive meal for longer!
We had a delicious meal and sat at a nice table in the little side room rather than the main dining room, which definitely kept the noise level down. The food was good. The portions were a good size and we all enjoyed our meals. I would definitely come back to this restaurant.
La comida no es algo especial, y el servicio se pudiera mejorar,
El lugar no tiene nada espectacular
Charcuterie plate "B" Pear salad "A", Capatavii Sausage "B+".
Great time at Mimmo’s! Excellent service, quaint table in the back, great food what more could we ask for? We had an amazing dining experience here and can’t wait to return
Even just the bread is fabulous. We had the gnocchi with meatballs and vodka sauce, and it was melt in your mouth amazing!
Meatballs were recommended, but were a little dry and not so fresh, may have been because it was a Sunday??
I went for my birthday and was treated like a king. The pasta, pizza and appetizers were amazing. Happy hour pricing in the dining room was a bonus and the free birthday tiramisu was icing on the cake of a wonderful early New Year's Eve evening. Definitely recommend. Thank you so much for the wonderful food, service and ambiance.
Good and simple.
Good for groups. Baked dishes and pizzas could have spent a bit longer in the oven.
The food just doesn’t “blend”. Chicken Pomodoro had grilled chicken in a red sauce with too much garlic.
I could taste the “grill marks” on the chicken. The garlic wasn’t cooked enough.
The service was very good.
For Italian food that was priced somewhat high, it was an ok experience. Good. Not great.
Took my mama out for the most delicious Italian food. We LOVED everything we got. Started with the calamari, then a small Cesar (MUST ORDER), gnocchi with vodka sauce(wowowo so good), my husband had the Mac and cheese and I’m so glad he did it was soooo good, my mama had the ragu and it was some of the best ragu we’ve ever had. Server was great, he seemed like he wanted us to put in our order super quick, but was very knowledgeable about the menu. 🖤
We were visiting San Diego for the first time and a friend told us about Mimmo’s, so glad we went it was the best Italian food we have ever had. Wonderful service, great ambiance & delicious food!
Very peaceful, friendly, quiet & romantic
amazing food but no AC so it was very warm, they do put down industrial fans on the floor..... atmosphere is like being in Italy... def recommend
The Best of Little Italy — food and service were wonderful!
I have 10 years experience in the restaurant industry and received arguable the worst service I’ve ever received.
Delicious and delightful — we went two nights in a row!
Absolutely amazing food with a wonderful atmosphere. A very romantic setting.
Good value for money, portions are big. The ambience of a old traditional Italian place, feeling like in an old Italian home. Relatively inexpensive. Food was good mostly, not mind breaking but solid good. To the negative comment - There is only one sink in the female restroom for females and there was a huge line. I think it’s definitely not enough and should be changed, the place is big and there are many customers.
We celebrated a birthday here. The staff were helpful and very pleasant. The food was very good in general but lacked taste in a couple of dishes. We were a party of ten.
The service was good, the ambiance was great and the food was the best Italian we’ve ever had!
Great service. I reserved my table on Open Table. I made a special request for a certain table and they made it happen. They were ready for us when we arrived. It was great! Our server was amazing and food was delicious
