About
Wonderful dinner!
Food was great. The restaurant represents a nice change from the standard Italian and fusion restaurants that are generally in Napa. It’s Japanese food like I’ve never had. Corn fritters were to die for, udon was great and dessert is always fun, ice cream with every topping imaginable. Only beef was service. The restaurant was very busy but clearly understaffed. Our waitress was good but covering so many tables that there was no way to provide the level of service expected. Noise is always a problem due to the restaurants design..beautiful carved ceilings with cement floors.
I’d definitely go back. When one gets tired of heavier rich food, Miminashi is a good place to land.
Terrific kitchen and selection of brilliant tastes. Service is less than perfect, the only thing that causes me to withhold that fifth star.
Do give this place a try, you won't be sorry.
My go-to for every occasion, even if there's no occasion at all. Don't miss out on the fried rice (or any of the rice dishes for that matter) or the ramen. Favorite all-time dishes are the little gem salad and the corn fritters, and I always get soft serve at the end of the meal. You won't be disappointed. This place is hands down the hoppin-est place in Napa. No longer a hidden gem!
One of my receny Go-to places in downtown Napa. The food has been consistantly good, and I love the natural warmth of the wooden everything inside.
Sake Carafes are a bit skimpy for the price, especially when they dont even fill up your carafe more than half. Everything else is reasonably priced and the ice creams are worth it.
Tasty twist on Japanese cuisine. Service was a little slow b
An amazing experience and great flavors! A must stop while in Napa!
Fabulous food, service, attention.
It’s always consistent and wonderful!
It was wonderful the food was delicious!
Great ambience, food is delicious, enjoyed my time there
Unbelievable!! We will definitely be returning. Unique and authentic and delicious dinner. Wow.
Favorite spot in town! Great food, awesome ambiance and friendly service. Soft serve is delicious of course but chicken tails are my fave!
Jessica curates an awesome wine and sake list, cocktails are top notch.
We will be back again and again for sure!
Very nice minimalist design with a nice calm ambiance. Food was very good - robatayaki was excellent. Rest of menu was a nice blend of different flavors from ramen to okonomiyaki. All the dishes we had were excellent. Only negative was the service, we had to wait 45 minutes between our first and second courses with no update until we asked. However, we would still go back.
Every single dish is beyond our expectations. We had been here before and remembered how good it was. But this time is even better than our first experience
Birthday, mine. They asked when we arrived, but then never wished me happy birthday nor offered any sort of birthday wishes
Our favorite place to dine in Napa
Spectacular! Chef Curtis is ALWAYS on point. MiMiNashi is Great any night of the week, but I would also recommend Tiki Night!
We’ve been here 4 times and every meal excellent! Highly recommend.
Very good Japanese izakaya food. For some reason, this is rare in the US. Miminashi has an authentic Japanese look, feel, and flavor (despite nobody being Japanese.) The prices are higher than one would expect from an izakaya in Japan, but the portions are surprisingly generous, so it balances out. We'll be going there again (and for what it's worth, I used to live in Japan, so I'm familiar with these sorts of places and foods.)
Always a dining experience I look forward to. The team at Miminashi made this special occasion even more so. Our server Max was at our side whenever we had a question and he made the experience seamless. Truly outstanding time. We will be back soon. Also a thanks to Andrew, Jorge, Jessica P. and Chef Curtis.
Really interesting set of small plates wonderful flavor profiles great service and a meal to remember.
Had a weeknight 7 pm reservation and founf it wasn't needed with only 2 tables taken . Had great fruit-sake martinis along with delicious Goyoza and chicken thigh skewers. The main dish was a ramen that came streaming hot in a clay pot. Our waiter kindly served it. My dessert was a coconut and kiffir lime ice cream that wasn't my favorite. Actually was described by my friend as, "sour".
We really enjoyed this experience, sitting at the grill table and talking with owner chef Curtis. Great food, very good value, good service and reasonably priced wine list. We’ll definitely be back!
Chef Curtis had a phenomenal menu! Definitely best Brunch I've had in a long time! Service was fantastic, great input and explanations on the menu. All the food was amazing!
While the food was excellent, the noise level was too high and we could not hear each other. Although we had reservation we were not seated in a booth, not sure if that would have helped noise level.
Service was good but very slow we waited a long time between courses, not sure if that was intended or not but too long.
Not a restaurant for people who are very hungry
This is the best find. The best sake selection.,we had the omakasse, surprisingly great!!!!
Just a great dining experience. Wait staff guided us through the unfamiliar menu. All very professional. Food was fantastic and so unusual. Definitely on our list now for go to places!
Favorite restaurant in Napa.
Great food and welcoming service!
One of the best date nights we have had in a long time! We LOVED every dish and only regret not being able to eat more. We will be back!
Love this place! 5th time here. Love the fresh soft serve, the delicious salads, appetizers, and entrees. Music was a bit too loud, as we were one of 2 couples in there. Food never disappoints and is always a go-to for taking out of town guests to dinner. I hope this place does not shut down. This is a real gem
When for dinner with friends, the place is lovely and the food was amazing. Highly recommend this place!
I LOVE miminashi ! Everything about it. Cheers!
sit at the yakitori bar. omakase to try a bit of everything. great food and service.
Meh - good drinks, ok Japanese food.
We ate here on a Saturday for my husband's birthday. It was excellent! We ordered several dishes intending to take some home for lunch the next day. We ate every bite it was all so good. Stand outs were the spicy chicken dumplings, the spinach, and the tuna and charred celery salad (yum!). The most amazing final dish was the savory egg custard with rock shrimp. It was like heaven on a spoon---so light and full of delightful flavor. Since the interior design is some incredible woodwork and concrete walls the noise level can get pretty loud. Once one large party left the noise level returned to conversation-possible levels. Not a reason to avoid the place, but be prepared. Not an intimate romantic spot, unless you like shouting. The menu changes often, and we look forward to going back.
Went early (5:45) on a Saturday. Only bar seat reservations available at that time. Got there and 75% of the tables were open and remained so while we sat at the bar. The beef chuck stir fry was meh but the hamachi sashimi was fresh and delicious.
Innovative cuisine, with clean and pure flavors that show case the elements. An eclectic wine list with an extensive sake selection and a knowledgeable staff. Currently my favorite Napa restaurant among strong competitors.
Everything was wonderful from the service to the food. Will be coming back
