Mimi Blue Meatballs is a tribute to our mother “Mimi Blue” Kosene. Mimi was a Lady, endowed with manners, taste, and an easy social grace. She loved good food whether dining out or cooking for a hard-working husband and three sons. Every home-cooked meal had to satisfy the whole family, as well as any friends who often stopped by. Cooking was the way she brought us together, kept us healthy, and showed us Love.
At Mimi Blue, we make the kind of food Mimi cooked for us at home, but we serve it in the type of comfortable urban setting that Mimi so much enjoyed. Like Mimi herself, our meatball dishes are classics. Each recipe is rooted in culinary tradition, but refined for the modern palette.

The food is very expensive for what you get. The cilantro sauce is quite spicy.
We celebrated national meatball day aT your Carmel location. I made an opentable reservation for the bar. The table before us was lingering which is fine so we sat at the bar for drinks. The manager apologized twice for the delay seating us and offered an appetizer for the inconvenience. That was a class act gesture. The app was good and then our table was ready. The bartenders waited on our table and on us when we were at the bar. They were very attentive, personable and wanted you to have a nice time.
One main reason we went was to gluten free options for my daughter. She called and talked to someone earlier in the day who assured her there would be nothing crossover between her gluten free food and food with gluten. That was a good comfort level and the time he took to talk to he about it was going above and beyond.
On to the food. The classic meatballs were phenomenal. Great with marinara, garlic cream and especially the cilantro cream sauce. Excellent! My daughter liked the gluten free veggie balls with cilantro sauce. You should bottle and sell your cilantro sauce! Hubby had the meatballs on pasta and love it. The side were amazing. Who knew a Brussels sprout could taste that good. Those are Not your mamma’s Brussels sprouts that you need to hold your nose to eat. Buy and try them. No nose holding required. The dirty mashed potatoes were good and polenta was perfectly cooked. Hard to find polenta so it was great to find it and find it well done.
Beer and wine were both consumed with wreckless abandon. The beer pours were good and the prosseco Cassie and I had was just right. With dinner we had a bottle of Primativo. If you’ve considered it, just it do it! It was smooth right out of the bottle.
The ambiance is great. The seating and decor look nice and upscale. The staff and manager were tremendous, the scene was vibrant. We will definitely return. Soon I hope, Thanks for a wonderful evening!
We were having celebration for my father in laws 80th birthday. We had family in from Texas and Ohio. Everyone raved on how everything was. It was a wonderful evening.
We were asked to dine with a candidate who was being interviewed at our congregation for a very important position. She and her husband are from St Lois and she is a vegetarian. This was the perfect place to give her lots of options and show them a local restaurant for a reasonable price. They both loved it!

I would recommend, but you'd have to like meatballs. The marinara sauce was excellent as was the garlic cream.
I felt very crowded as tables were close to each other. Would try again but would not sit in table for as they are quite small. Not enough for all the food we ordered.
Service slow even though it was late afternoon (4 o'clock start time) otherwise very good.

Our server Stephanie was great. She explained everything since none of us had been there before. We had friends in from Chicago, and they loved it too. We all would definitely go back! I didn't think I liked brussel sprouts until I tried these!
Service, price and food were all great. We went with a first time couple and our waitress explained the menu great and even let us sample the sauces. Definitely recommend!
We went on Valentine's day so it was busy. The food is very good and the service was good for how busy it was.
Valentine’s Day dinner with my wife. We have been here many times and always love the food. Mimi Blue was the first restaurant we ate at when we first came to Carmel before we got married so it has a very special place in our hearts.
Our server did a great job considering all the people she had to serve. We felt like they were a little unprepared for the night as the food took significantly longer than usual. Regardless, it was still a perfect night.
The new fried cauliflower is amazing! Several new menu items look great!
This was our first time there. The service was very good. Our waitress was excellent and very friendly. She gave several suggestions on the menu. The food was really delicious and great size.

We went to Mimi Blue for their Devour Indy menu, which was a dinner for two that included four meatballs each, one side to share, and two banana mousse.
They seemed short staffed when we were there, with only two servers, a bartender, and a manager (I think?) running the entire front of the restaurant. All four of those people were rushing around helping each other and hustling the whole time we were there, but none of them seemed harried or stressed. Even though we had to wait a little longer than usual to be seated, to get our drink order taken, etc., we didn't mind at all because it was clear they were busy, and the service was still really good.
It goes without saying that you probably want to be a meatball fan if you're going to eat at Mimi Blue, but I'll say it. My husband and I always love going here and mixing and matching different meatballs and sauces. I prefer the classic meatballs, but he likes to try different kinds, and all are good. I think I've had all of their sauces at this point, and they're all good. If you're not an adventurous eater, you really can't go wrong with the marinara.
There are a lot of sides to put under or on the side of your meatballs. This time we split the mac and queso. Delicious. Hot, melty, and definitely enough to share.
The banana mousse is a dessert that is always available on the menu, but we had never tried it until this visit. It's basically a banana pudding with vanilla wafers crumbled in it and some whipped cream. It's REALLY flavorful and delicious. One probably would have been enough to share. The color was a little off-putting...it looked exactly like dijon mustard. But the taste made up for the weird color that I'm sure was the result of the tasty ingredients.
We would--and will--eat here again.

Another great experience here. We were seated in the bar, which was had a higher noise level than previous experiences.
This was my first visit. Tried the classic meatball with creamy garlic sauce and the beef with marinara. Both ere yummy. Bressell sprouts were delicious and shared by three of us. Can’t wait to go back.
Great food different options from the normal burgers and fries. The sauces are unique as well as the meatballs. Salads are great. Good for small groups, dates, or Sunday Brunch.

This restaurant is consistently outstanding! We love the food. I always get the turkey meatballs because they are gluten free but my husband, son and guests like to try the specials and new items. We have never been disappointed. And let's not forget the Brussel Sprouts. They are the best I have ever had. Also, the last two times I have been to this restaurant, we had the same server, Rea. She is the BEST--cheerful, energetic, full of suggestions and always on top of her game.

We visited for my wife's birthday and the staff and management was wonderful. Josh immediately made us feel welcome and even brought some food he is developing to the table. What a wonderful experience.
The wine selection was great and we loved two of the red blends. We enjoyed the food including the new fried chicken slider. Keep up the great work and this is truly a neighborhood gem!

We had a party of 16 and we had great service and the food was delicious. It was our first time there so the waitress let us do the sampler of the sauces and explained everything to us. We will definitely be back.
The prospect of a menu centered solely on meatballs did not entirely captivate me at first, but its proximity to our destination was ideal and it was recommended by a vegetarian friend (who can be particularly demanding). The menu design and ordering gimmick was daunting, but a knowledgeable and helpful staff quickly put me at ease and helped to guide me to some good choices. I still felt that the menu design was choice overload in all the wrong ways, missing out on ways to highlight the various meatballs and focusing instead on the many ways you could combine meatballs and sauces into too many similar ends.
The food arrived quickly and was presented in a very appealing manner, given that it was meatballs. The meatballs themselves were good--tender and juicy--but felt pretty indistinguishable from one another. The special meatball (beef with poblano and cheese) was not distinct from the classic beef meatball, and the buffalo-turkey meatball's differences were much more subtle than I expected.
I came away with the impression that ordering multiples of the same meatball in slider or sandwich form was probably the best way to enjoy the food.

Fantastic food, the meatballs are high quality and the sauces are tasty. The manager came out and talked with us after we ordered dessert, the cake we ordered was made special by a top 20 maker in the US, best cake ever. All that to say it was fairly inexpensive (around $50 for 2 people and drinks) and amazing atmosphere, outside live band made it special.
