Great food and service very enjoyable!!
The whole stay was excellent.

I’d definitely recommend this restaurant, but would mention the fact that it lacks atmosphere. Other than that, and being off the beaten track, I’d say it’s really worth a visit

Absolutely perfect valentines meal , perfect setting and top class meal

Although we arrived 15 minutes early the bar staff did not seem able to deal with us. In the end we ordered a drink and sat to wait for our table. No one came to find us and when I finally asked we were not shown to a table in the restaurant, instead they wanted to sit us in the lounge /tv area. I'd booked a table in the restaurant as a romantic night for valentines. In the end we were sat in a big hall that had all the atmosphere of a funeral parlour. The beef was burnt leaving an over powering flavor that ruined the dish and dessert. I kept asking what the problem was with our booking only to be met with apologies. No explanation.

Our first visit and it was really good. Couldn't fault food, service or the friendly staff. Just one minor detail was that we had a table for 2 too close to ours, a bit more space would have been nice, but we will know to ask next time. Very well done.

Lovely meal at a great price. Staff are polite and welcoming and always give a good service. The place has a lovely atmosphere and is in such a pretty setting. We visit on a regular basis.

This is our second visit to The Priest House in the last month.
We were not disappointed with regards to the quality of the food.
It was well cooked and good presentation.
Flavours were there and we were all happy with our choices. There was only one problem, they had not fish cakes starter but the alternative choice was fine. Very happy with the wine quality and the staff were great.
Will we go again? Definitely.

Had to wait nearly 40 mins for 6 sandwiches and when the bill finally came they told us the card machine wasn’t working luckily 2 people out of our party had cash on them or not sure what would have happened this should have been told when we first arrived

We had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The meal was excellent as was the service from staff, setting and ambience. Food was great value. Our favourite place. We spent a lot of time here in the summer. Will definitely be back

However I would suggest for people to avoid booking when there’s a wedding/function on. Service was extremely slow and staff were inattentive.

Service was bad. Took ages to get anyone's attention. Both meals were not warm enough and the vegetables were just about warm, bland and tasted like they came out of a microwave.
Beautiful place but severely let down both the service and food.

Lots of choice on the menu and a well stocked bar. Friendly staff, who do their jobs well. We had a great night.

Booked a table at 2.00. At 2.40 we were told that the kitchen was really busy and we couldn't order for at least 45 mins!!

We did after a protest. But cast a shadow. Lovely venue but need to get staffing sorted.

Appreciate that it was a busy weekend, but the restuarant had no record of our booking and service was very slow. Another table with a booking at 14:00hrs were still waiting for their food orders to be taken at 15:00pm, only to then be informed that there was at least a 45min wait for any food to be deliverred!

The location is exceptional, but the hotel has none of the charm that existed originally, with the loss of the fammous Whiskey Bar in order to be replaced by lounge with a TV screen. Toilets were bearly clean.

The food was okay, but really only pub-grub standard and at £25 per person seemed slightly excessive.

Open Table booking is pointless as they treat everybody on a first come, first served basis and casual drinkers seem to take precendence over diners. All-in-all a quite costly experience for an average day.

We came for lunch, 5 of us including a 3 year old, and the food was delicious - every one of us polished off our plates and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The welcome and service were also excellent, we'll be back! Many thanks!

We have visited on a number of occasions and have always been very happy with the quality of the food and the friendly service. The setting is amazing, we would highly recommend for group and family friendly dining.

This was booked as a birthday meal what fantastic settings this place is in ..the staff were very friendly the bar area is good and we were seated to the right of the bar . The food was fantastic very tasty and cooked to perfection ..my only fault if you can call it a fault was their was a wedding on in full swing and a lot of the party came into the bar instead of using there own bar in the function room .Defiantly recommended and we will be back

Two nights mixed review. Night One was ok, decent meal but confused staff, kept being asked if we had placed an order. Then had to go get the bill as the staff never returned after saying we did not want dessert.
Night two was embarrassing for the venue. It was over booked, the was too little staff to handle a fully booked Hotel, Restaurant, Bar and Grill and a Wedding. There was not enough cutlery and glasses etc, took 25 minutes to get a drink and a hour late in seating and two hours for food. had to cancel teh dessert as it never arrived and again had to go get the bill and being honest tell them they had missed about 20 quid off it.
The whole situation the venue got itself into should have been avoided if it was managed better. If you cannot cater for weddings and a full restaurant and hotel then get the staff numbers so you can.

Beautiful scenery, with amazing food at a brilliant price

We had a great meal celebrating friends 25 wedding anniversary and Priesthouse was where we had the reception! Had a lovely lady help us when we arrived and great service through- food was really great- thanks Chef- would definitely recommend coming here - thank you

I love this place, the food is great and the staff very friendly, plus it's such a picturesque setting. Would definitely go back again

Father’s Day

Excellent service, the food and service was super. The ambiance was also super. What was nice that we were able to take our time. After lunch we had teas and coffee on the patio which was a very nice way of our time there. A place to be recommended.

A very nice place with a good atmosphere and OK food - nice presentation but very bland to taste unfortunately, have had worse elsewhere though. Considering the bar was not busy at all and there were at least a few members of staff on shift, they were very slow in delivering drinks and food and seemed to be running around everywhere in a rush. Never-the-less I would visit again as the location and atmosphere is fantastic.

We were a group of 6 meeting for a reunion - 4 who had travelled considerable journeys. The table was booked for 12.30 pm 3 weeks in advance. When we arrived (before 12.30) no table for 6 could be seen. In fact our table had not been set. One of our group assisted a waiter to arrange this! When we sat down, the waiting game began...... we had to ask for attention as no one came. After about 20 minutes our drinks arrived (there were only one other couple in the bar - so not exactly overflowing!) . Drinks were followed by our starter course which was a sharing board so not difficult to prepare. We then waited at least 40 minutes for our mains. Desserts, which mostly consisted of ice cream, took another 40 minutes!!! WHY ???? During the whole process there was no attention given to us. The 2 waiters, who between them, did their best to accommodate our requests but didn’t appear to know what they were doing!!! The food was reasonable - when it eventually arrived. What a disaster! From the waiting for our orders to the lack of attention and detail from staff who were obviously not trained to deliver. The whole time we were there, there were only a handful of people so we dread to imagine how it would have been had the place been busy. We had a similar reunion last year at the Millstream Bar which was fine. What a difference a year can make! We will absolutely certainly never return and will not be recommending to anyone. To sum it all up - a complete and utter shambles!

This is my second visit in about a month and once again I wasn’t disappointed. The service was excellent, food superb and great value for money. Just watch out for the wine prices ... I was a little surprised that two large glasses of Sauvignon Blanc cost £17:80 !! My one large glass of Pino Blush was £6:20 ... so choose carefully !! Otherwise a fabulous setting and a fabulous meal. Highly recommend this place.
One point to note is despite ample parking, there are no disabled parking bays near the entrance. The car park is reasonably close to the main building but is a bit rough and ready and full of stones, so not easy to walk on if you’re disabled, which I am. Perhaps a couple of dedicated spaces could be provided nearest to the building ... but made flat and marked out.

Good mother’s day meal - excellent value but some additional attention to details around service would be worthwhile

We enjoyed our meal in a pleasant environment with lovely helpful staff. Always a pleasure to spend time there.

I had visited The Priest House many years ago, so knew the location was stunning. However I had no idea how the good the refurbishment of The Millstream Bar and Terrace was. I was very surprised at how light and airy it was with contemporary, comfortable and well spaced out furniture. We were shown to our table straight away and the staff were attentive and helpful. We had drinks whilst we chose from an extremely well priced and varied menu. You could chose two courses for £9:95 or three for £14:95, excellent value in my opinion. We started off with one of us having a delicious fish cake, whilst the other had the chicken parfait. Both were presented well and were delicious. I then opted for a traditional roast beef dinner and was not disappointed; the meat was tender and plentiful, there were roasted vegetables, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and then a dish of freshly cooked spring vegetables. All beautifully presented, with good sized portions and all tasted really good. My friend opted for the risotto which was equally pleasing. We opted for the three courses so I had chocolate and orange creme brûlée which was absolutely divine and my friend chose the rhubarb crumble and custard, which was equally delicious.
The whole experience was excellent; great food, great value, great service all in a stunning location. I will definitely be returning soon and would highly recommend this fabulous place for a relaxing Sunday lunch.

We booked for 7pm, but arrived earlier than planned at the hotel. They were more than happy to accommodate an earlier booking. The food was lovely, and a good price. Unfortunately our order was not complete and one of the meals was wrong. They corrected the error and deducted the value of the meal from the bill. Service from the staff was good.
