We accept reservations on a limited basis via OpenTable, but hold the majority of the restaurant for walk-in parties. Because we hold tables for walk-ins, we recommend coming in and if there is a wait, we will seat you as quickly as possible. Generally speaking, everything moves pretty quickly in here and of course the bar areas are first come, first serve.
We do not reserve outdoor tables because we can never be sure of the weather. If you make a reservation, you can request to be seated outside on the patio when a table becomes available.
Having been to the original Millie's on Nantucket, I was excited to try the one in Spring Valley. The ambiance was nice, open and energetic with patrons. We had a great seat against the same wall as the bar so it provided a nice overview of the restaurant. The food was good, but I think I bit overpriced for what you get. I would go back, but I will pay more attention to what I order to get a better value. $17 dollars for a salad is a bit much.
The food was delicious which is the only reason for my recommendation. The service was pretty terrible. My friends and I split a few things: clam chowder, shrimp tacos, tuna sashimi, peach bruschetta, beet salad. All beautifully plated and scrumptious. However, regarding the service... upon arriving, I was seated first and sat for a good 10 minutes before someone asked if I wanted a drink. During that time, there were about 5 servers socializing at the bar next to my table. The waiter did not check in once during our meal while all of our wine and water glasses were empty. When I sat down, I told the host that we were celebrating my friend's birthday and he gave me a blank stare. Waiter did not ask if we wanted coffee or dessert; he simply brought the check. I'll go back because of the food, but the service could use some serious work.
Friendly staff as well as manager. The quality of service and food has made us wanting to return with friends very soon.
Great ambiance and yummy food. Service is fine. When we visited the restaurant did not have any dessert except for ice cream, which was the only disappointment of our meal there.
I’ve been to Millies a few times now and keep hoping it will get better. The food is decent, but expensive for what it is. Everything just seems a little bland to me. The atmosphere is lovely and it’s definitely a prime spot for ladies who lunch. The outdoor patio and ice cream window is by far the best part!
Went on a Wednesday night. Requested a quiet table. They sat us next to the bar, even though we later saw there were several open table near the kitchen that were much quieter. Service was very slow. They held us hostage for 30min after dinner, taking our credit card, then telling us their computers were down, and refusing to return our card.
I ordered the lobb salad for $27 there was arugla salad, small cut up potatoes, one hard boiled egg and the lobster and balsamic dressing on the side, everything was good except for the lobster. The lobster tasted flat, not fresh. I wish I ordered the lobster salad. There was 2 of us and my friend ordered a crab cake over salad for $22, she enjoyed it. With 2 cocktails and 2 entrees, it came to $74, with tip and tax, I ended up paying $96 for lunch. I will not be going back there for lunch, I have never paid that much for a lunch for 2.
Sat at the Bar. Abc was great and the noise was comfortable enough to have a convo. The Cod sandwich was really great.
Millie's is the best, most lively restaurant in DC. If you want to feel like you've been transported back to 18th century Versailles, go to Millie's! The people watching alone is worth the visit.
Had the most fantastic meal at Nina
The food was poorly cooked. The quality of the food and preparation declined quite a bit in the last year. The service has also been on the decline. On this occasion our waiter disappeared for long periods of time despite the restaurant being empty. The bus team stood next to our table the entire meal and conversed which was quite awkward. Overall this was an Unpleasant and expensive dinner. Good place for a drink and appetizer but not likely to return for dinner.
Millie’s is a great place! Good fun, staff and ambiance. Always.
Love Millie’s! Food’s delicious, great for families.
We went for an early New Year’s Eve meal with 4 kids. We felt rushed even though half of the tables were empty. Most us found the food to be mediocre.
We had brunch! It was great. Highly recommend the potstickers appetizer
Good vibes and excellent food!
We had an excellent experience!! Can’t wait to come back!!!
Joined a friend for lunch and tried Millie’s for the first time. Literally the best chicken tortilla soup I’ve ever had. It was thick but not overly rich. Topped with fresh avocado, shredded cheese, cilantro and fresh made tortilla strips. The menu was clearly labeled with allergens (thank you!!) and had good variety without being overly extensive. Good wine and beer selection. Service and ambiance were great.
Wonderful experience.. we went for Brunch and a surprise Birthday celebration.
Lovely restaurant.. great food.. nice service.. brunch was jam packed with crowd.. and lots of families and children .. it is very loud in Millie’s..
Music playing.. loud kids. Much of that is the attractive somewhat industrial design of the space. Sound bouncing everywhere..
that being said.. it is obvious that all the kids. And they certainly were all nice children.. liked the food..
wonderful testament to the quality of the menu..
we will find again !!
The Huevos Rancheros, steak and eggs, crab Benedict.. all great.. Oyster mini tacos.. yummy.. one hot sauce there.. just be aware!
Great place !
Great atmosphere and food. The restaurant accommodated for my celiac disease (gluten free). Great spot!
Had an amazing server. We stayed way to long and never felt pressured to leave. Everyone was so professional.
too noisy! Acoustics is terrible.
Food is good. Not a place for conversatıon
Food was fresh and well prepared. We returned for lunch a few days later
Good food. Southwestern take on biscuits and gravy. I had the goat cheese scramble and thought there could’ve been a little more flavor or goat cheese, the mushrooms were excellent. Chocolate Chip pancakes and crispy hash browns were tasty.
I would highly recommend Millie's. Fun atmosphere, really good food, good service. Great setting. One significant complaint though- The noise level is way too loud and the proprietors should do more to deaden the sound (cloth inserts in the ceiling?).. Too many hard surfaces and the noise just echos everywhere making it hard to carry on a conversation..
Excellent neighborhood gem. Lobstah!!
I had the seared tuna in a flour tortilla. The tuna tasted a little tired. It was just okay. Not delicious by a long shot.
Good food and service. Very loud.
We love Millies. It’s our neighborhood gem. It feels just like you’re on Cape Cod and everyone at the restaurant really shows you a good time. Kid friendly.
Vibrant atmosphere, very friendly and attentive staff, excellent food. One of our favorites!
High end neighborhood place in a high end neighborhood.
Convenient, lively and good drinks. Food seems to be slipping and new menu isn’t rocking me. The roast cod was undercooked and a sparse portion, the oyster tacos were flavorful but dry.
Overall, great food, drinks, and experience. Our server was friendly and was attentive to our needs. The menu rotates on a seasonal basis. We ordered the Caramelized Pear Bruschetta to share between two. The sweetness of the pear, nuttiness of the arugula, saltiness of prosciutto, bitterness of the blue cheese was a great combo. We also ordered the Baby Lamb Chops, which was tender and came with perfect vegetables and whipped potatoes all in a flavorful buttery sauce. The Lobster Pot Pie was very flavorful. Not your home-made flaky crust pot pie. The pastry top was very difficult to eat because it was thick and very hard. The lobster bisque came with at least three pieces of lobster and hearty vegetables. It was a bit on the salty side, but still very delicious.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Enjoyed Millie’s very much! Had some gluten free options if needed.
brought my parents in for dinner and we were treated very well
Great salads and server (Jordan!)!
The menu is varied but I find most of the dishes are a little too heavily sauced. There is an underlying richness to the soups, tuna poke, chicken skewer that is unexpected. The potstickers were delish!
