We accept reservations on a limited basis via OpenTable, but hold the majority of the restaurant for walk-in parties. Because we hold tables for walk-ins, we recommend coming in and if there is a wait, we will seat you as quickly as possible. Generally speaking, everything moves pretty quickly in here and of course the bar areas are first come, first serve.
We do not reserve outdoor tables because we can never be sure of the weather. If you make a reservation, you can request to be seated outside on the patio when a table becomes available.
The overall experience was not as good as we expected, as we returned to the restaurant after a good experience lunching there six months ago. We booked our reservation well over a month in advance and was given the worst table in the restaurant. It was about 95 degrees outside and we got the booth for 6 closest to the kitchen so it was very hot and very loud. A couple guests wanted a burger and they said they could not serve one at dinner time even though they did have a mini kids burger at dinner time. We were not checked in on regularly so we sat without beverages for much of dinner and waters were not refilled. Our entire party left very underwhelmed.
Frose was A+! We liked the pepper appetizer and the tuna poke was amazing! My fish tacos were a little bland but my friend got the lobster salad and it was so good. We'll return.
Great spot. Brought my kids who are adults and we all loved it!
We arrived at peak dining hour of 7 pm Sunday and the place was filled with people and kids. This was the noisiest time I have been here, and my companion and I had to speak quite loudly in order to understand one another. It has been much quieter when I usually come for lunch.
Also, the chairs are hard on my butt. Can you get some cushioned chairs for those of us with ender posteriors?
Taylor was awesome. Great food. Can’t wait to come back
Fresh food. Great cocktails. We only tried the sea food and everything was delicious. Lovely outdoor seating on a nice day.
Great atmosphere and food was amazing! We sat in the bar area and the drinks were really good too. Highly recommend.
Absolutely my favorite spot in my neighborhood!! Best service, staff and great healthy options.
LOVED everything about it. So cute, friendly staff, good food!! Highly recommend for any occasion. Lots of outdoor seating as well. Great neighborhood gem.
Atmosphere was terrific, wait staff was outstanding and food was fabulous!
Two for lunch. I had the Lobster salad and it was as delicious as it was generous. My lunch mate had the lobster roll sandwich, equally as delicious and generous. Love Millie’s for lunch and or dinner with its Nantucket style casual seaside atmosphere, excellent service, good drinks and tasty food. Glad to have such a fun eatery so close to home.
I ordered a salad with shrimp. The shrimp were cold and dry. Shrimp should have been cooked and hot. Salad greens were marginal. Not worth $18.
Good food. Great clam chowder. Rockfish in the tacos was a little dry. But overall food and beer selection are very good. Only problem is the high noise level. Seems like they could do something about that.
What a gem for the neighborhood. Great scene! Great people watching! Interesting meals and drinks. Super service. The ONLY minor issue is that its super loud. So, Id avoid hosting a business meeting there.
The food, service and ambiance were spectacular. To a person, everyone in our party of 8 LOVED their meal. Esther Island & Smith Point tacos were delicious, the Rhode Island quesadilla was super flavorful, the Cliff Road and Lobb were excellent salads. Make sure you leave room for ice cream!
I would definitely recommend this as a lunchtime venue. Very nicely laid out, friendly table servers and very good food. Would go back again.
Best restaurant in D.C. It is purely amazing and astonishing. The food and drinks are sensational!!!
Over the top noisy.
The invasion of the under 10 crowd
Quality of the food excellent.
Delicious food! Loud. They should serve their ice cream in the restaurant too.
Use to love eating at Millie’s ... perhaps it was an off night but food was definitely not as plentiful or tasty. Bowl of clam was 1/2 full but very good. Poke was plentiful but shy on the avocado. The Great Point salad was mostly greens ... hunt for those shrimp and mango, and the Eel Point taco was soso. Restaurant is always lively and there is no lingering over a meal for conversation. We went early hoping it would be more relaxed ... not so.😔
we have been to Millie's many times but we came for brunch and found the huevos to be only "ok" and served with bacon which made no sense. The salads are much more consistently better. All in all it is a pricey and precious place.
moms night out
Food was very good. The noise level was almost intolerable. Service was ok but not outstanding. Would go back on a less crowded evening, maybe in the fall
Great outdoor seating. The Frose is a must. Raw bar was very reasonably priced.
First time, and I was very pleasantly surprised! Great service, great cuisine, nice wine list, excellent cocktails, high quality ingredients (you can definitely tell) and a festive environment that is welcoming to all. Generous portions of premium seafood, ie crab and lobster. Soon to be insider tip: Order the spoon bread side dish (essentially a delicious corn soufflé) you’ll be glad you did! We hope to return very soon!
Very very loud, even though we sat along the wall on a far side from the kitchen and middle tables. Oddly, there was no dessert. Rather, we were told, rather sheepishly by the server, that we could go outside and buy some ice cream and bring it back to the table.
Been several times now -- I enjoy Millie's very much. I think it's a fun atmosphere and feels like you're at a beach bar even though your on Massachusetts Ave. I was very disappointed this last time, I made a reservation a month prior to our visit and requested a seat in the bar area or the patio. So I was very surprised when I got to the hostess stand and she said they don't accept reservations for those spots. It would have been nice if someone had gotten back in touch with me to tell me that news. We had to wait 60 minutes to be seated there, even when we had a reservation. It doesn't make sense to me that they can't reserve some outside tables for reservations.
There was one server by the bar who was very very rude. He yelled at me for taking a water glass. Otherwise everything was grest
I asked around for the best lobster rolls in DC and Millies was among the suggestions. I'm so happy we chose this for my mother's 94th birthday lunch. We came early -- 11:15 and had a quiet table but I suspect by noon at busy dinner hours this could be a noisy place. If that is an issue for you, make your reservations on the early side.
The waiter was attentive and very helpful. Two people wanted their lobster roll without mayonnaise and one needed to avoid raw onion in the side dish salad. He solved all special requests without hesitation. The lunch was delicious!
One note if this is a special occasion and you want a treat to finish the meal: No desserts on the menu! They have an ice cream cone walkup window outside and you can bring it in to your table. We did that but... frankly... this is not particularly great ice cream.
The noise level when we walked in was terribly loud. We couldn’t eat outside bec we thought it was going to rain. We had difficulty communicating with our server regarding a lactose allergy. He was not helpful offering options and it was difficult to have a careful discussion with all the noise. In stead of an option for potatoes we had a 1/2 plate of greens. The soft shell crab still came with a sauce that had milk. I would like Millie’s to offer a complimentary dinner
The food was good, I got the scallop tacos which I really liked. My boyfriend got the crab fried rice and he said it was ok. I wish I would have looked more into it because this place seems more suited for a group of people getting dinner and drinks. It was so loud in there that we had to scream and repeat ourselves so that we could have a conversation. Just something to keep in mind!
Best POKE bowl in town!! And Best FROSE in town!! Wonderful little spot for weekend brunch or lunch, especially when the weather is nice and you can sit outside though sometimes the patio is overrun with kids. We like to order a few things and share (quesadilla, poke bowl, salad) - though I do wish they had all quesadillas and tacos on the lunch menu too.
Casual and noisy. Food is good but 427.00 Lobster rolls are too rich for us.
Lunch with a friend
Food great-service not. We ordered drinks, soup and entrees 1 beer arrived quickly. Then both entrees. We started on the entrees and the soup arrived. Waitress then stopped by. Had to ask for the undelivered iced tea and when I mentioned soup came after entree, answer was “not my fault, I don’t control the kitchen. (Pause). I’ll tell them about it.” No manager came by to apologize. Next time we saw anyone it was waitress with check.
PS. They do not sell desert any more. Need to revise open table menu which still shows desert.
PPS. Clam chowder and scallop entree were great.
Millie's is always a great spot for a group dinner or just to stop by for a drink. Fun atmosphere, great food, attentive staff. Can't help but feel like you are in a mini-vacation.
Enjoy the atmosphere and food but it was extremely loud. We dined early so there were many families with young kids who got noisy!
Good food. Super noisy and hard to talk and hear. Service is cheerful and bar to table is slow. Great menu.
Love the indoor outdoor feel. The fros 'e is delicious.
