We accept reservations on a limited basis via OpenTable, but hold the majority of the restaurant for walk-in parties. Because we hold tables for walk-ins, we recommend coming in and if there is a wait, we will seat you as quickly as possible. Generally speaking, everything moves pretty quickly in here and of course the bar areas are first come, first serve.
We do not reserve outdoor tables because we can never be sure of the weather. If you make a reservation, you can request to be seated outside on the patio when a table becomes available.
The noise level when we walked in was terribly loud. We couldn’t eat outside bec we thought it was going to rain. We had difficulty communicating with our server regarding a lactose allergy. He was not helpful offering options and it was difficult to have a careful discussion with all the noise. In stead of an option for potatoes we had a 1/2 plate of greens. The soft shell crab still came with a sauce that had milk. I would like Millie’s to offer a complimentary dinner
The food was good, I got the scallop tacos which I really liked. My boyfriend got the crab fried rice and he said it was ok. I wish I would have looked more into it because this place seems more suited for a group of people getting dinner and drinks. It was so loud in there that we had to scream and repeat ourselves so that we could have a conversation. Just something to keep in mind!
Best POKE bowl in town!! And Best FROSE in town!! Wonderful little spot for weekend brunch or lunch, especially when the weather is nice and you can sit outside though sometimes the patio is overrun with kids. We like to order a few things and share (quesadilla, poke bowl, salad) - though I do wish they had all quesadillas and tacos on the lunch menu too.
Casual and noisy. Food is good but 427.00 Lobster rolls are too rich for us.
Lunch with a friend
Food great-service not. We ordered drinks, soup and entrees 1 beer arrived quickly. Then both entrees. We started on the entrees and the soup arrived. Waitress then stopped by. Had to ask for the undelivered iced tea and when I mentioned soup came after entree, answer was “not my fault, I don’t control the kitchen. (Pause). I’ll tell them about it.” No manager came by to apologize. Next time we saw anyone it was waitress with check.
PS. They do not sell desert any more. Need to revise open table menu which still shows desert.
PPS. Clam chowder and scallop entree were great.
Millie's is always a great spot for a group dinner or just to stop by for a drink. Fun atmosphere, great food, attentive staff. Can't help but feel like you are in a mini-vacation.
Enjoy the atmosphere and food but it was extremely loud. We dined early so there were many families with young kids who got noisy!
Good food. Super noisy and hard to talk and hear. Service is cheerful and bar to table is slow. Great menu.
Love the indoor outdoor feel. The fros 'e is delicious.
The kitchen should REALLY let up on the salt. Also, I was given an option for a reservation at 11:30 or 1:45 and there was no one there. Surprised I could not get in at noon. People started showing up around 1. Odd.
Frose is delicious.
The food was very good. The waitress was friendly and the food came put very quick.
Would have liked Happy Hour menu, but preferred outside seating.
A lovely evening — excellent food and atmosphere but still kid-friendly.
Great spot. Lovely staff. Food is really wonderful.
I love coming to Millies! Whether the weather is warm or a dreary day, the waitstaff is always very attentive, the food is delicious, and I always seem to run into someone I know who is enjoying Millies just as much.
Millie's is a friendly place with a young vibe. My friend and I had salads which were on the expensive side. That made not getting free bread ridiculous.
I didn’t think I could love this place any more than I already did, but wow. Yesterday was SO GREAT!!!! I REALLY wish I remembered the name of the hostess that sat us, she had long brownish hair and it was around 145 if that helps. Anyway, I don’t usually remember hostesses because they really don’t do anything, but she was SO SWEET and made sure we had everything ready to go and was very attentive. And that was the hostess! We didn’t wait once we sat down, Nicholas came by and knocked the whole experience out of the park. We had our son with us and Nicholas was just perfect. Made sure we were okay, made the baby comfortable, and he was just a super nice guy. Drinks were never empty, always checked on us, even made small talk. The food... omg... I wish I could have ordered the whole menu. The kitchen staff is phenomenal. We ordered the dip trio and that salsa with mint was life changing. Like what?! Who thinks to put mint in salsa?! SO GOOD! The soft shell crab sandwich and lobster roll was just like being in New England. Even the damn baby’s food was out of this world. We got him the kitchen kebab and he murdered it. Even the rice. And the tortilla. OMG okay I’ll stop just know everyone there that day was excellent, can’t forget the bar staff too for making our drinks great! I won’t wait 2 years to come back again.
Great experience; food, atmosphere, staff, service, and location all make for outstanding time.
The food was fine, not exceptional. We never saw the same server twice, it took a long to time to place an order and a request for salt and pepper was acknowledged but never fulfilled. So basically, service issues. They are usually more on point so will chalk this one up to an off day.
This is a wonderful addition to the Spring Valley neighborhood in NW DC. The food is excellent, fresh and well prepared. Great youthful staff, good drinks. Terrific outdoor seating for those warm DC summer nights.
There are a lot of hard surfaces inside, and so it can get a tad noisy when its busy, which is often.
Great brunch! Nice ambiance. Food was delicious but a bit overpriced.
We enjoyed our first visit. We shared a number of appetizers and I particularly liked the swordfish. It was a lovely afternoon so the bar scene was a bit crazy. The noise level was a little distracting. Otherwise a great experience.
The perfect spot in NW DC for a summer evening dinner. Leave room for ice cream, too!!!
We love Millie’s! Best food, best service, best frosé, best chef!!!
I really enjoyed the Po' Boy sandwich and the wonderful outside dining experience. Come for the Nantucket inspired seafood, but skip the coffee
We had a reservation for 8:45 pm and had to wait an additional 45 minutes to be seated. What is the point of a reservation when you have to wait? Then when we sat down they told us their kitchen was closing soon and we needed to order soon.
Loved the restaurant atmosphere, service, food and that it’s dog friendly in the patio section. I will definitely be coming back.
Such a lively neighborhood restaurant. We love that it is so close, the food is excellent and while somewhat noisy it is clearly loved by many. We enjoyed "tacos" that weren't tacos but just perfect for a light dinner. Thanks for a great dinner.
Excellent food, just a bit pricey.
Always delicious!!! Both cocktails and tacos were awesome! Service was outstanding as well... just wish the noise level was a little more muted... hard to hear those you are with once it starts to get crowded.
The best food and the most fun of anyplace in Spring Valley/Wesley Heights.
Unbeknownst to most, Millie’s changed their reservation policy from first available to inside seating only. I’m pregnant and couldn’t stand and wait for a table for 2 hours so had to accept the inside seating on a beautiful night when I had hoped to wait for a short period of time for a patio table (with a reservation). It definitely put a damper on the entire experience.
Great experience as always! I love the atmosphere!
Millie's on Nantucket is one of my favorite restaurants so I was thrilled when one opened in DC. Had my favorite grilled shrimp tacos and a margarita for a birthday dinner. My friend loved hers too! Great atmosphere inside or outside.
The menu is very interesting and it's hard to choose just one thing to eat. I had the scallops tacos and they were amazing. The service was excellent. The restaurant can be noisy, and the seats are very close together, but other than that, it's a great place to meet a friend and grab a bite.
The food was superb, but service was a bit botched. Main course came out very quickly (made us feel it had been prepared ahead of time), before the salad.
Wait staff was pleasant and accommodating. Noise level was high.
Food was not as interesting as on previous visits, also noise level inside made conversation difficult, we did have an excellent server.
