We accept reservations on a limited basis via OpenTable, but hold the majority of the restaurant for walk-in parties. Because we hold tables for walk-ins, we recommend coming in and if there is a wait, we will seat you as quickly as possible. Generally speaking, everything moves pretty quickly in here and of course the bar areas are first come, first serve.
We do not reserve outdoor tables because we can never be sure of the weather. If you make a reservation, you can request to be seated outside on the patio when a table becomes available.
Tables are very small and pushed close together so it feels very cramped. Incredibly loud - talking and music - nearly impossible to have a conversation. But food was very good, drinks were great, atmosphere relaxed, service attentive, food and drinks served quickly.
It is pretty expensive for the food and drinks and service you get. Wait staff and manager were not that helpful during last visit. Many orders came out wrong and manager's attitude was "so, you got what you wanted eventually." Bad attitude for a manager.
So disappointed by my lunch at this hugely popular restaurant. We ordered an appetizer w/ raw oysters and shrimp in the shell. Oysters were great but shrimp were heavily coated in spice, way too cold to peel easily and there were no wet cloths or anything to get all that messy spice off your hands. Really an unpleasant experience + blah tasting shrimp.
Fish tacos also just OK - bland and no side salsa. Also pricey at $19.
I will not dine there again.
Great atmosphere and food!
We just love Millie’s! Yes it’s pretty loud and it’s not inexpensive but the drinks are fun, the menu is good (we like some of the recent additions and changes) and it’s always a festive, energetic environment. Oh and the ice cream walk up window rocks! It’s become a staple for us and we will of course be back!
We visit about once a month. the starter this time was not up to par. The server asked us and we were candid. they did not charge us which is smart. We will keep Millies's on our short list :-)
Great! Love the shishedo peppers. Our server was also nice.
The food is good, service was decent, we did have a reservation and came early and they were still able to accommodate (at the bar).
Awesome service, food and ambience as always. Loved the old bay and the artichoke/crab dip!
Went in for a quick dinner before the Caps game. Always a friendly place that makes you feel at home. Food is always great and although it's a little pricey being in the Spring Valley neighborhood, once you taste it, it's worth it.
Fun place. Lively. Good food. What more can you ask for in a neighborhood restaurant?!
This is the second time (and probably the last) I've had dinner at Millie's and both times it is so loud and noisy that it is actually unpleasant. In warmer weather service is provided at picnic tables outside. I'll wait to come back then. I've been to lunch several times and the noise level is not quite so bad at lunch.
Took 15 mins for the server to get to us. But the food got to us soon after so not bad. The food is horribly overpriced
Our server was awesome! I THINK her name was Nickie.
The food was delicious. It was a little too noisy. Service was good too.
Had a great time. Good food, service and ambience.
The restaurant was recommended by our daughter. The food was very good! However the server was not very attentive or responsive. As an example, I asked for pepper.....he brought just pepper, true I only asked for that but salt and pepper do go together. So, when someone else at the table wanted salt we had to hunt him down again and get the salt. Refills on water, non existent. Good service is as important as good food. Thanks for listening.
Odd restaurant. Not quite sure of genre. Fish tacos galore but not latin restaurant. Lots of families. Food fine not fab. Good tap beers. Didnt go for restaurant week menu because better deal on regular menu.
Great fish tacos and good place for a family night out.
We generally liked the restaurant. The food was very good, the prices competitive for the neighborhood, and the service was good too. The portions were generous. When we came in for dinner the bar area was rather crowded, which caused the entire restaurant to be very noisy for a while (even though we were seated as far from the bar as possible). But the noise level gradually diminished as the bar crowd thinned out. So we would recommend the restaurant but be prepared to shout if the bar is busy at the time you are dining.
This was outstanding! Before we were finished we already decided we would return!
Millie’s is a cute restaurant, fit for Sunday Brunch with a group. The service is not the best (sat for 15-20 minutes before anyone came by to take our drink orders). The food is okay, a bit over salted. But, the Lobster Salad is outstanding. Overall, it’s a cute place that’s close by and a good meeting place for friends. So logistics are good; service and food are okay.
I was very impressed how helpful the staff were in making the experience as accessible as possible. Everyone was thoughtful and made our experience easy and fun. The location and the food are also great!
Food and service are fabulous. A little noisy. And very limited deserts. Eel Taco is to die for! Highly recommend.
Full house at lunch. Noise level made it difficult to have a low voice conversation. Food is always good but portions are extremely large for lunch, represented then but a pricey bill
Parking is terrible. For the first timer, I tried to park on the street, it was a disaster. Then parked on its own parking lot. Although I had stamp on my parking ticket, I was still charged full price on the way out. It's not worth to go back again.
The food is always tasty and fresh. In the day time the noise level is fine but at night it is WAY above
the norm for ears that might be a tad old...like mine. Having to shout across the table is no fun but my lunch the other day was just fine. Thanks.
We thoroughly enjoyed it.
It was a delight to have lunch with a friend at Millies. The lobster roll was outstanding--lots of lobster. The service was superb--attentive but not intrusive and patience with us talking. Adam was outstanding.
Great Food, Great Casual atmosphere. Very attentive Staff.
Couldn't ask for a better time!
Food is great. Can’t wait to get back. The ice cream outside is super.
The crab fried rice was superb. Props to the chef for coming up with a unique and very delicious combination of ingredients.
What's better on a cold winter night than a cozy dining room with steaming clam chowder, chicken pot pie and a glass of wine ... absolutely nothing.
Nice neighborhood option, excellent choice of seafood options, well prepared and presented, good value. Servers on two occasions could have been more attentive but knew menu and were very pleasant.
Great food. Server was nice but just short of the mark. I’d come back again. More casual than for special lunch.
Good quality, pleasant ambiance, great bar, big enough but not too big - everything you want in neighborhood restaurant.
Fun local neighborhood spot in Spring Valley with excellent clams.
Love Millie’s but don’t go there much anymore because they haven’t found a solution yet to the noise level. I no longer go there for dinner because of the din, and my friend says she doesn’t either —conversation becomes impossible. Lunch is better. I met three friends yesterday for lunch (my idea), and it was helpful that music wasn’t playing over the din at least for the first hour and a half. As soon as they turned it on, it was less comfortable.
The rockfish in my taco was very fishy tasting. The noise level made conversation very difficult.
