Still among Richmond’s best. Pork entree was AWESOME!
Staff was fantastic!!!
Food was wonderful!
Highly recommended and we will be back!
My friends and I thorougly enjoyed our meal at Millie's. It was my wife's and my first visit to this little gem. We made 5:30 reservations through Open Table for 5:30 PM (when they open for dinner by the way). We were the first guests in the restaurant and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. Within the next hour, the small restaurant was completely full. My wife and two friends ordered from the wine menu. I ordered a local brew (Hardywood!). The wine was excellent (a Cab Franc for my male friend and chardonnay for the ladies). I ordered the warm tomato bisque. With the cheese and crisp bread, it was like eating a liquid grilled cheese and tomato sandwhich. Soooo good! For entrees two of us ordered the roasted rainbow rout, one ordered the Pan Seared Scallops and the other order the Thai Spicy Shrimp. The scallops and trout were perfect portions one can eat in one setting. Thai Spicy Shrimp was a large portion of rice noodles, veggies and shrimp. A lot for one person to eat, so the three of us who at the other two entrees were able to eat some of the shrimp dish as well. I can say without a doubt that all four of us were very pleased with our choices. For dessert we ordered and quickly consumed a slice of a peanut butter creme brulee cheesecake concoction. We wish we had ordered more....talk about melt in your mouth. We are definitly going back often to eat our way through the menu.
My wife and I had an absolutely amazing and unforgettable dinner at Millie’s.
We both ordered salads to start. My Caesar Salad was made aand tasted the way Cawas meant to be. The cheese, anchovy and garlic taste were perfection Extremely hard and very rare to find it made this well. My wife’s salad was also excellent.
Our two entree’s, grilled lamb shank and spicy Thai shrimp were to say the least, culinary gems. You really can’t get better prepared and unique food. This is a real tribute to a extremely talented culinary staff. Kudos to a great job.
Our young female server was knowledgeable, efficient and very friendly.
The decor is a hip and funky casual . The wooden booths had coin operated jukeboxes. A really cool touch. Overall, a place I wish this joint was in my neighborhood.
Love everything about Millie’s!!
Joe is best waiter!
Family dinner on New Year’s Eve was most memorable with delicious gourmet dishes from appetizers to entrees all the way through to desserts. Excellent service to boot. Highly recommended.
We had a delicious dinner with our family. We ordered nearly every dish on the menu, and everything was delicious. Joe, our serve, was wonderful.
Excellent service and food. Seafood (spicey Thai shrimp) and veggie (poached cauliflower with farro) entrees were tastey attractive, and good portion sizes.
Great food! Definitely a special occasion place!
I literally never bother to write reviews of anyone. But they're perfect. So, you should go there.
Excellent, as always.
Always amazing food and excellent service. Millies is a special place that love.
Great food on a slow night.
Overall great experience. Service was a bit slow and we had to ask for our server several times to take our order, and other requests that took a while.
I have been here several times for brunch and have loved it. Dinner was not what my friends and I were expecting. The menu was pricier than we would have thought. The food was still delicious as always, just didn't seem to match the usual casual-ness that is Millie's. Our waiter made some uncomfortable jokes and was constantly interrupting our conversation. Would probably still come for brunch, but did not enjoy this last experience.
There's a reason Millie's has been a favorite forever...consistently awesome food...good service...the only downside is parking in that area is severly limited...but that's what uber/lyft are for!!
Always great food...never fails! Loved my sheepshead. My husband and I love coming for date night.
A very delicious dinner. Not too noisy. Not crazy about dessert choices.
We had some teammates in from Chicago and wanted to give them a uniquely Richmond experience. Millie's did not disappoint. The food was excellent and they loved trying the creative balsam fir ice cream and macaroon dessert. Plus we were able to provide a driving and history tour of Richmond on our way to the restaurant. It was a perfect outing.
Enjoyed a quiet evening out with my husband. Great food and service!!
I’ve been going to Millie’s almost since the day it opened some thirty odd years ago. With all the hype surrounding other so called hot spots, Millie’s remains creative, rock solid and unfailingly dependable. It never disappoints.
Millie's never disappoints. Our meals were once again absolutely delicious. Interesting menu of seasonal ingredients. Artfully prepared. My husband had the lamb, and I had the scallops. Both dishes were memorably amazing. One of our favorite spots in RVA.
The food and atmosphere were awesome. Very creative dishes. Appetizers and dinners and drinks....all perfect. The mussels were in an amazing sauce....I wanted to drink it! The ceviche was also outstanding. You can't go wrong with any of their dishes. Ten of us returned 10 totally empty plates. Save a little room for dessert...they were also exceptional. We heard brunch is fantastic too but they were already totally booked.
We were entertaining out of town guests, and had a wonderful evening. Everything was spot on.
We ordered a bottle of wine and oysters to start. The oysters came before the wine, which was followed immediately by our main dish. We had only eaten 2 oysters before our main dishes were served. The food was innovative and attractive. The lamb chops had more gristle than meat, unfortunately. Everything was tasty, though.
Food was very good- service excellent!
Millie's was among the first top-notch, out-of-the-box restaurants in Richmond, and continues that tradition without fail. The best of taste and fun in every bite. Thank you!
Funky fun cozy spot. We were all impressed with the variety of meals on the menu and 4 of us out of our group of 6 made choices to share because we couldn't decide on just one plate. Excellent service and food made for a very fun night out - topped off with creative desserts. We all agreed that the chocolate brownie w/orange curd was the favorite out of the 3 we tried.
Enjoyed Richmond Restaurant Week meal at Millies (understand it is their 10th year participating) for a good cause. Menu was limited but delicious. Enjoyed the mussels appetizer (spicy), Chicken Confit and Pumpkin Cake. Excellent wine choices and service. Enjoyed the booth with jukebox and cosy atmosphere, with kitchen in open next to bar. Fun place to eat and enjoy company.
Innovative, delectable, and oh, so yuumy! How have they kept going all these years with such an incredible menu? If you haven't been--go!
Excellent food and wait staff. We were going pre theater and it worked out great!
Millie’s remains among Richmond’s best. Great food, great service in a welcoming atmosphere
great service and great food! Parking is better than one would think, parked right in front of the restaurant!
We had four apps and the Thai shrimp for 4 people. All great! Ceviche, and puapus were excellent.
Quite disappointed for a top rated Richmond restaurant. Service and servers were very good, however had to send back two dishes, too many other great Richmond restaurants to visit.
A bit disappointing. For one thing, any restaurant that charges $50 per person should maintain a little more upscale vibe. Our waitress was wearing jean shorts. She didn’t seem to like us. Maybe we were overdressed? It’s very small and loud, which is fine, but it’s the subtly sneering service that rubbed us both the wrong way. Food was fine, although my fish was served atop what appeared to be chi chi’s salsa, and my wife’s shrimp was swimming in an over-rich coconut sauce. Biggest fail was the creme brûlée, which seemed made in advance and stored in the fridge. When we asked for some simple fresh fruit we were told that the kitchen was “too small.” So I guess we’ll stick to places with bigger kitchens.
It was fabulous as always! Thanks for helping us have a great evening.
