Simply the best in Southern California. After dozens of visits over 15 years, Bertrand Hug never disappoints.
Very nice and relaxing evening for my wife and me on our date night!
A delicious respite! Mille Fleurs' cuisine is prepared and served by people who dearly love food. It's a lovely sanctuary and we felt as if we were on vacation in Paris. They have a beautiful patio with so many heat lamps you could sit outside in 50 degree temperature without a coat. If I could give it 6 stars I would!
Superb in every respect. Impeccable, knowledgable service. Wonderful job of transforming the courtyard into a magical “room”. And the food is better than ever. An oasis in the 2020desert.
You must try the homemade chocolate ice cream. It's so creamy and flavorful. I only get one scoop, but I could eat several!
Excellent food. Salmon was superb! Wonder service. Definitely a favorite eatery.
I’ve been to Mille Fleurs many times and had a decent dinner there however this time was different. Overall the food was not that good and three in our party ordered the beef Bourguignon. Now mind you this is a French restaurant. They served with pasta which had absolutely no flavor and it literally looked like 2 tablespoons of beef bourguignon was put on the plate maybe two pieces of meat. We complained and they brought out a cereal bowl full of additional stew and proceeded to ladle two more tablespoons onto the plate it was completely ridiculous. I don’t know what they’ve done but I will never go there and eat again. We even brought our own wine and the bill was almost $500 and I’m so disappointed!!!!
Mille Fleurs is a special experience with good food, wine, service and atmosphere.
It is one of the best rrestaurants in San Diego. Welcoming ambient, professional staff, nice variety in the menu and great chef. It is a bit on the pricey side but it is so worth! I can’t wait to return.
So the service was particularly SLOW. Got our appetizers in a timely fashion, but waited over 50 minutes after to get our entrees. Was told it was because of several large parties, but we only saw one party.
Also, while food taste was excellent, the portion size was quite small, especially given how much we paid for each entree.
Have had better service at this restaurant before; could have just been an "off" night.
Absolutely delicious French onion soup and very fresh salads. The service is always superior and the patio is beautiful.
wonderful lunch at one of the finest place in san diego. ★★★ great wine list and great service.
I’m sorry but the food was very bland, lacking in salt and flavor. I had escargot, deviled eggs and short rib tagliatelle, neither of which I enjoyed.
The one drink I had I did enjoy, it was the French Kiss.
Service was good.
Would return for a drink, and dinner if I’m feeling lazy.
Loved everything except the table of 10 who come every Friday to eat and smoke cigars. We were seated outside as far as possible but one man was aware of our issues with both the smoke and smell. He deliberately walked and puffed past our table three time. The ending discussion was not pleasant. But does not reflect on food or staff.
Wonderful evening for our 20th wedding anniversary
Mille Fleur is such a gem in our community.
The outdoor patio is a fabulous place to dine during Covid.
The food is always delicious and the staff is wonderful.
It’s one of our favorite restaurants in the SD area!
beautiful setting in the courtyard. Quiet setting, you can talk and hear one another. Food was excellent. Our group had the braised short rib, sea bass and veal. Risotto was very good and the deserts were fantastic. The service was very good, we brought two bottles of wine and they served them properly.
We have been celebrating our anniversary off and on at Mille Fleurs for 34 years. This is the first time that it went unrecognized: no complimentary anything! We were truly disappointed.
Bland food, mediocre service and a waste of what was once a great restaurant.
My wife ordered the veal and I the sea bass, they were both so off in flavor and so bland, if I’m adding salty to my appetizer, salad and main dish...the chef is not don’t his job. And it’s not it was lacking salt, it just had no flavor. And the waiters reaction to us sending back the dessert because it was inedible...”uhhh okay”
Don’t waste your time and money, moreover, don’t celebrate a birthday or anniversary here, it will be an unforgettable night, but not for the right reason
Great service super food desert was outstanding
Will return soon
Had a steak that was cooked to perfection and the cream brûlée was amazing. The over all experience was 10/10 would highly recommend
Mille Fleurs is my favorite restaurant anywhere. It is expensive but always delivers in terms of service, wonderful food, and an elegant setting.
As always excellent food, superb presentation, excellent service. It's always a very high standard.
The best meal that I have had in years. I had the beef filet cooked to perfection with wonderful sauce. The others in my party had scallops-very large and perfectly prepared, and Ora Salmon was outstanding with a velvety texture. Everything was way above most restaurants today. If I lived in the area I would go frequently
As a former chef I respectfully submit : To start I was served a "turned", vinegary glass of Pinot Noir at the bar. Duck was cooked properly but reduction sauce was sticky, not flowing. Steak was overcooked a little, sauces were excellent, but to serve greasy french fries with it ?! Green beans were overcooked, almost soggy and Bland. Beet salad was one of the best I've ever had ! Desserts were excellent as was service.
Excellent but dessert portions way too huge. charge us less and just give us half...
The pan sauteed salmon was delicious. I also treated myself to truffle fries, which were outstanding.
Appeared to have good safety precautions
Mille Fleurs is our favorite restaurant, and we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. It was our first dinner out together in six months since the Covid shutdown began. The restaurant has maintained it superior cuisine, service and ambience. They were especially careful to observe safety precautions, but in a very relaxed and congenial way. We had a wonderful evening together.
Great restaurant for a special occasion. Delicious, creative food! (The Matre D is a bit of a snob, but otherwise a good staff and service.
The service was great! Our server, Sid (I believe that was his name) made sure that all our needs were met in a timely manner. We had an excellent time!
All good and exciting
We had a wonderful evening at this fine restaurant. The service was great. I lived eating outdoors. Our meals were excellent. We'll be back.
The courtyard dining atmosphere and food was sublime. We loved it; from the clever way of pouring our drinks, to the personal attention from the owner. It was a great experience and we have already recommended the venue to friends.
Mille Fleur was a bucket list experience for me along with two woman friends. And it was a disappointment for me. I knew it was going to be extremely expensive with relatively small portions and that was true. The two starters we ordered for the table were quite
good, but there were three of us and the foie gras came with two pieces of toast. It would have been so easy to put three on the plate, after all it was only bread. We tried to get the server’s attention to no avail. My friend had the wiener schnitzel which was excellent. I had the duck breast which the server asked about my wish for wellness as he did my friend about her filet mignon. Both requested our meats be a little on the more medium than rare. Neither came that way. My duck was a little tougher than would have expected. The side of corn we ordered was excellent. The profiteroles were perfectly nice, nothing special. No one came to refill my water glass until dessert. My friend’s second old fashioned was extremely strong she said, much stronger than her first, and she needed to wait until the ice melted to make it drinkable. I’m glad I can check this restaurant off my list, but I can only recommend it reservedly.
A very beautiful setting in an open courtyard. The service was excellent and the food very good. The atmosphere was one of quiet excellence. All of the diners were respectful of others around them. The the two areas that seemed out of place with the elegance of the restaurant was the addition of a 4% service charge and a split entree surcharge. Given the listed pricing of the food, these two charges seemed surprising and unexplained.
Great ambiance. Servers were attentive, but not intrusive--perfect. And the gluten-free food options were fabulous.
Lovely place for a special occasion. Romantic. Excellent service. However while the food was very good, for this type of place I expect the food to be outstanding, memorable. It did not deliver that extra special punch.
Spending an anniversary weekend at Inn across the street.
Farm vegetables, experienced wait staff and incredible patio made this a very special evening.
