Mille Fleurs deserves more than 5 Stars. It's simply amazing that a resaurant that has been open for 27 years can be so good time after time. The longevity and excellence of the chef, Martin Woesle, who has been in charge since the opening, and the very professional service staff, especially Marco and Bruno, are also remarkable. Bertrand Hug deserves the reputation he has as San Diego's greatest restrauteur. He is obviously also a wonderful employer who has earned the loyalty of his employees.
Went to Mille Fleur a couple of times a long time ago when we lived close by. Old friends came down and remembered a good meal we had there together. We went together for a 7pm reservation. Still seemed like the same place, very elegant and proper.
Three of us ordered the halibut. After about 5-10 minutes, waitress came back and said they were out of halibut!!! At 7 PM! Wine list is out of this world pricey, highest I have ever seen for a bottle of wine. Service was excellent, but they really need to get their act together on the menu if they want to charge those prices.
As usual the food was amazing and our waitress was also very very attentive and was able to answer all questions we had
Superb in every way. One of the rare high end restaurants that merits the somewhat costly menu. We always return for Valentines Day and our Anniversary (plus a few other times when we just want to celebrated with good friends.)
Easter lunch was amazing and will definitely go back.
Very lovely place, food was very good. We came with an infant & they accommodated us with a chair to hold the car seat. I was somewhat surprised that they did not have any sort of high chair. Next time we know to bring our own baby set up. Will recommend & be back
The food was delicious and creative!
It was nice to have excellent service from all of the waiters. The ambiance was nice, quiet conversations going on at all of the tables. Menu was good. Nice to have the piano bar at a distance from the dining. We had the venison and one of our guests had the fish. Excellent.
We will return.
I went to this restaurant about 15 years ago and had an incredible experience. Thats why I was so happy to see that it had maintained its reputation as one of the best restaurants in North County. Unfortunately that was not our experience, as the entire meal was uninspired.
Our waiter was fair, the food was not well described on the menu, and the entrees were just average. The salad dressing and the couscous was completely tasteless, as were the potatoes. The John Dory was bland, while the lamb was at least reasonable.
Perhaps we got them on a bad night, but there are many better restaurants in North county at this time. Hopefully they will reassess their operation and either improve or make significant changes.
The food is always expertly prepared and our waiter Bruno is a delight! We love coming back year after year!
Always excellent. One of a dying breed of quiet, intimate, charming restaurants with great food and ambiance.
Mille Fleurs is a lovely restaurant. The service is impeccably attentive...a throwback to a bygone era when proprietors and hosts took the business of providing their patrons with a "dining experience," not just a meal. The cuisine is good, reliable French-American fare with a menu nod to local farmers and fresh fare. Staff were too eager to fill our wine glasses and remove our dinner plates before we were ready which may have merely been a reflection of their commitment to attentive and excellence in service. Overall, the "dining experience" was exceptional. Mille grazie!
Fabulous food and service. Always a delight to dine at Mille Fleurs.
Lovely evening and delicious food! Enjoyed the ambience .
Visiting form out of state , on our way to palm Springs. Exceptional service and meal. Loved our lunch in the courtyard , can’t wait to go back for dinner.
Mille Fleurs is at once a high-end restaurant with an impeccably professional and personal staff, and yet warm and inviting as you move room to room. Super great experience, as always.
Food was good. Service was great. Expensive, which is fine we knew that going in. But a 4% “surcharge” on the whole bill? That’s bad biz practice. Should just add the 4% to the menu price rather than trying to sneak it under the table. Will not return. Oh it was just 2 of us so it wasn’t anything like a group surcharge.
Great food, super-friendly staff. Overall just a great experience.
We had enjoyed this lovely restaurant twice so returned to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The exceptional meal I had last time was not on the menu this time but because we asked about it, the chef prepared it just for me! Delicious!
They also have a wonderful wine list.
The food was delicious, the service exquisite,
and the table by the fire perfectly delightful.
Fantastic food and impeccable service. Great dinner for my wife's birthday.
This was a wonderful place for a family gathering of ten. The table set-up and room was perfect. The service was exceptional. My disappointment was with the food. It was good but not great which I expect at these prices.
Been to Mr Bertrands places many times, unfortunately this ocassion for my anniversary food tasted like plastic. Bad bad bad. Disappointed.
Always amazing- one of our favorites when we’re in San Diego.
Just simply our favorite place to eat. Service is always excellent and staff friendly
Always excellent food and service. It's a quiet spot so it"s also easy to hold a conversation.

Spectacular! Best French restaurant in San Diego. Don't miss the desert menu!
Wonderful service! Amazing food!
World class ingredients, presentation, top notch service and exceptional wine list. You get what you pay for.
Perfect service and delectable food. I know of no other restaurant in San Diego that provides such professional service and European style dining. The menu selections are classic with beautiful presentations.
Excellent food and service.
Great servings of tasty food, won’t feel stuffed after 3 courses, emphasis on quality, great service, strongly recommend for a quiet night out away from the noise and hustle from downtown San Diego. Looking forward to the next meal.
Delicious food, great service, expensive , great for special occasions
Restaurant week♥ and it was just wonderful! Squash soup, ravioli and my mom had pasta and that pasta omgggggggg the best seafood pasta ever!
Have heard about Mille Fleurs for years but it's off the beaten path and out of mind until I saw it on the Restaurant Week list. My friend and I went for lunch and the experience was lovely. It is everything that is expected with a great reputation--over-the-top service, great food and lovely surroundings. The surprises were that the lunch offering described as $20 for Restaurant Week on Open Table and the SDRW site, turned out to be a $28 offering of three courses--a soup or salad, an entree (3 choices), and one delicious dessert. There was no $20 menu so I'm not clear why it's wrongly advertised on two sites. The other surprise was that none of the 3 preferred entrees were French--chicken schnitzel (German) cioppino and ravioli . The 18% gratuity was added automatically (not sure why) but was appropriate for the considerate personnel. With a 4% surcharge and normal tax this was a $70 lunch for two. I guess there is a reason it's in Rancho Santa Fe.
