First visit - 6 of us for dinner. Krista was an excellent server.
Very noisy, but inviting space.
Parking is horrid. We arrived before 5 pm, didn’t know valet available after 5 & we parked 3 blocks on street, west of restaurant.

Mixed reviews for Mill Valley Kitchen. The trout was excellent, and also liked the tea and apple crisp. We were a little disappointed in a curry dish (not very tasty), and a mixed cocktail was so-so. The waiter tried too hard to send out a casual California vibe. It was also pricey for a lunch.

The Decour in this restaurant is lovely, the food is fairly good, if quite overpriced. They made an unfortunate change to the wine list, and have a limited number of overpriced glasses of wine.

Mill Valley is consistently one of the best restaurants in the Twin Cities. From the moment you walk in the door you can feel the customer service. Staff is sincerely happy you are there, whereas many restaurants feel they are doing you a favor by being there for you. That positive attitude prevails through dessert.

Our food was just okay. My friend ordered the chorizo flatbread. She said is was sort of okay, only ate half asked for the rest in a take home box. The server took the plate and never returned the rest to my friend.

Great place to meet up with friends for dinner. I like the cozy atmosphere and that you can have a conversation without having to compete with music or peripheral noise.

Food is good. Especially loved the pork chops. I would say that the portion sizes are small for the price. This is not the place to go if you are super hungry, might have to order a double portion.

Service was spectacular and overall will definitely come back again.

This was our first visit and we had a great time. The food was excellent and price was what we expected for the quality of food plus gourmet quality. My husband and I, while we love to eat great food, appreciated the calories listed on the menu so we could mix/match and share. We went with another couple to celebrate a birthday. We sat in a booth which made it relaxing, more private and quieter. Not sure if I would have felt the same way if we sat at a table in the middle of the restaurant. Our reservation was for 6:30, but we had to wait about 10 more minutes to be seated. The wait staff was attentive without seeming like they were rushing or hovering. The food was superb. For dessert I appreciated being able to get a small version, if you like chocolate and peanut butter, get the Fluffernutter...yum!

I just can’t ever say enough about how fabulous this restaurant is!

I’ve become a “regular” over the last few years, going at least 2 a month. However it had been maybe 2 months since I last went home just due to being out out town. When I finally got home, and it was a friends birthday I knew I had to take him to Millvalley.

And they did not disappoint!!! I walked in and it was still the same friendly atmosphere and it’s usual staff with lots of smiles. We were seated by Jaija; she is a GEM!! Jaija was so friendly, helpful and fun to talk with. She saw us out as well and was still full of energy and even remembered our names.

But, the main part of the evening which was focused on my friends birthday was awesome! We had drinks made by Amelia, who is one of the best bartenders in Uptown! Then I asked if we could be seated in ADAM’s section. I had never seen him before, wasn’t referred to him, but I just thought he was the coolest guy just by listening to him chat with co-workers by the side bar and new my friend and I wanted him! And Adam was amazing. He’s extremely funny! And so friendly and easy to talk to... yet completely professional, new his menu and was so accommodating. I plan to tell people to ask for Adam if they can and we had an absolute best time!!

I love Mill Valley Kitchen! It is a great option in the Twin Cities for vegan food with a nicer ambiance. The chefs are usually willing to surprise us by making a vegan dish on the fly. It was my birthday and our server said the chef was not very busy but the chef refused on this night which was disappointing. We enjoyed an excellent host in Evan and good food anyway.

Best Sea Bass I've ever had in my life (Miso glazed Sea Bass) ... served on a bed of quinoa and mushrooms with a slightly pickled cucumber salad. House wine. Great meal. Both host and server were well versed on specials and could answer our questions about the food. Food was fast, but we didn't feel rushed. Nice atmosphere falls just between high end white napkin/tablecloth restaurant (date-friendly) and family chain sit-down place (kid-friendly). Nice variety on the menu in both food and price. Cons ... maybe, if there are any at all, would be the price was a little high for the portion and we did comment on the noise lever ... had to repeat ourselves a couple times. Will definitely return.

Our server was so conscientious- we told her we were seeing each other after years apart and she was so unobtrusive - yet prompt with service when we stopped talking long enough to order!

Took friends to Mill Valley as a thank-you. Everything was fabulous! I've never even had an average meal at this restaurant. Always first-class. I particularly like that the food is locally-sourced, whenever possible and that information on calories and sodium is provided. Had one of the best wines I've ever tasted there, as well. Sadly, I no longer live in the Twin Cities, but Mill Valley is a preferred stop whenever I'm back in town.

A group of us were gathering from across the metro and were looking for a central location with good food and a full bar. We couldn’t have been happier with the experience. We arrived early enough to take advantage of happy hour, then stayed for dinner. Our server was knowledgeable, making excellent suggestions, and was friendly and fun. The cocktails, wine and food were all excellent, and the ambience was relaxing and comfortable. We’ve all been to Mill Valley Kitchen before, and because it is so consistently good, we will keep coming back.

Decor and lighting were lovely, and we were very happy with our cozy booth. The food underwhelmed us, however, especially as it is expensive. Several items were a bit too spicy for out tastes, and others didn't taste like anything special. The white cheddar grits were good, meanwhile.

Our waitress, while very nice, took quite awhile between visits to the table.

The bill, for three of us, came to $150, and that was without any alcohol. We had hoped for more delicious flavors.

Yum. We've eaten at Mill Valley several times and it never disappoints! We had the SeaBass and the Trout--both were lick-the-plate clean delicious. We also tried the cucumber salad and it was light and tasty and different than expected.

Mill Valley staff were helpful making sure my meal was dairy free due to allergies.

The only downside to Mill Valley is the parking situation. We used Valet as there was no spaces to be had in their lot.

First time at Mill Valley Kitchens and we were very happy with our experience. We were two couples who just got together to chat and catch up. We ordered the smoked salmon appetizer to split between us all. There was a very large portion of salmon, so this worked well. Delicious appetizer. My husband and I split the beet salad, which the kitchen plated separately for us. It was delicious and very full of wonderful beets. I ordered the miso encrusted sea bass, one person ordered the trout and two ordered the pork chop. All of us raved about our food. My seabass was perfectly cooked, which is a real issue for me with fish and seafood - it is so often overcooked. This was just luscious. I had a bite of the pork and the trout and they were also very good. Nothing left on any plates. Our server was a little overzealous, but only one of us four found her annoying. The other three thought she was fun. Unfortunately for us, the table behind us had a gentleman who talked exceptionally loud and we found ourselves having to repeat things as we couldn't hear each other. When he left, the sound level dropped considerably and we enjoyed the rest of our meal. We would go back and we would recommend it to friends.

My partner is totally blind and has a hearing loss. Staff seated us in the private dining room and service was attentive to his comfort. Food was amazing as usual and the recommended featured wine was really enjoyed by the two that had two glasses each!
