Mill Valley Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
The food was not only excellent, but interesting! It seems hard to find interesting food these days. So many restaurants have the same cookie cutter menu. Mill Valley Kitchen has a good variety for a variety of different tastes. It was hard to decide because there were several things I wanted to try. The portions are reasonably sized versus being so over the top huge and I love the little deserts. The wine and beer list is good and I love the pear martini! I would highly recommend Mill Valley Kitchen!
We had not been for dinner in a couple of years. We came in early during Happy Hour. Very reasonably priced beverages were served, half price glass of very nice wine. My wife found her entree on the happy hour list. I had a nicely prepared steak that was of moderate proportion, fine with me, but well prepared.
Mill Valley Kitchen is a great choice for healthful food and creative cuisine. Their happy hour is a bargain and they have a nice selection of beer, wines, appetizers, sides, and sandwiches. The wait staff is always friendly and attentive.
WE all enjoyed the food and ambiance. The only p[problem we had was they did not have our Open Table reservations when we arrived. Luckily it was early enough that there were plenty of space. It was quite crowded when we left.
Just so great. We always have an amazing, satisfying and flavorful meal. The ingredient/health transparency is so nice too. It's such a luxury to not have to ask about gluten free items! And the drinks - love the non alcoholic options. And the service is fantastic!
Love the central location, lovely service and overall good food. Very good wine choices. Horrible parking in lot shared with apartment residents, but they do offer valet. Rather park car myself and hope not to get a car dent! Will return here with friends when in the Twin Cities.
If you're looking for a classy, quiet, old-style restaurant experience with friends or family, this is a great option. Its ambiance is its greatest attraction. The food is extremely uneven (my pasta was overcooked and the sauce looked unappetizing; the dessert custard wasn't set but the fruit topping was wonderful). The wines are nice and the cocktails are creative.
My friend( from the western suburbs) and I (from Southeast Minneapolis)look forward to meeting at MVK for lunch and always request the cow booth in the bar. the bar is cozy, quiet and conducive to conversation. Wait staff are excellent, attentive and never rush us. The food is imaginative, healthy and delicious. We especially like the mini desserts.
I have been to this restaurant several times and this was the first time the service was pretty bad. Our server brought waters and then disappeared for 15 minutes. We ordered drinks and they took another 15 minutes. I know there was a large group in the private room, but I would hope there would be adequate staffing for the large party.
I will chalk this up as a one time bad day and will give Mill Valley Kitchen another try.
The only problem was the server was just not attentive or available. We were at the table at least 30min before she brought our bottle of wine. One of my guests had to get up twice to get her to come to the table. Very out of the normal high quality service.
Our food was excellent, but our experience was not. Unfortunately, a mouse ran down the drapery behind our group. The server came over and said, " Oh no! Not again.". The mouse was chased into another area and caught. The next day I called to talk to them about this and was told that the mouse probably came in the patio door. They did nothing to encourage us to return. I guess we'll be having our birthday lunches elsewhere.
We were 2 people in the bar area as it IS quieter in there. Each item on the menu looked wonderful, it changes all the time. We chose an omelet & salad, salad & perfectly cooked chicken breast, wonderful coffee and yummy chocolate dessert! Stephanie the bartender/ wait staff was a dream, thought of everything before us!
