Mill Creek Tavern Ratings and Reviews
I had 2 hrs btwn meetings, so I went to Mill Creek for food and drinks... I'm never disappointed here. The bar seats approx 10, you know the place is popular when only 1 seat is open. I started with the classic chicken wings, all the sauces are on the side which is a great touch, then followed it with the Mac n Cheese which was delicious. Highly satisfied customer who will be back
Took my love for valentines day and we loved every moment. My wife is a vegan and there is always a token grilled veggie salad on the menu but they had a pan seared cauliflower steak with butternut squash hash and roasted brussels sprouts with a chimichuri sauce that was to die for. Me on the other hand had the long bone tomahawk steak. Cooked to perfection and one of the best steaks I have had in a long time. The service was professional and flawless. for valentines day I commend them
Great spot. Had never been and saw the reviews and decided to try it. Very glad I did, will definitely go back. Our table was ready on time. Menu had terrific selection of appetizers and entrees. Everyone had something they liked. Food was great and service excellent.
Food and service are consistently great. Our waitress, Vanessa, is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. We will definitely request her the next time we go back - all of the servers are really great, Vanessa is the best.
We have been here several times over the years, this time for a birthday dinner. The German menu was a great choice, the smoked salmon flatbread was delicious, as were the short ribs and schnitzel dishes. My son loves the homemade Mac and cheese. We will be back soon.
Mill Creek Tavern was great. Restaurant Week menu was varied and had many fine choices.
Not a real fancy place, but fancy does not mean delicious food which is what the Mill Creek
served. Definitely would return for one of their "special nights" to sample the menu again.
Have added another place to our list of restaurants for a guaranteed great meal.
Our first visit to the Mill Creek Tavern was a pleasant experience. We chose Mill Creek based upon the Open Table reviews and the menu selection for restaurant week. Upon our arrival we were welcomed warmly. Our waitress Vanessa, and our hostess, whose name escapes my memory at this moment ensured that our water glasses were always full and our bread basket was abundantly supplied. The chef was particularly kind enough to allow me to request another entree that was not noted on the Restaurant week menu because of my many allergies. I ordered the chicken pot pie and absolutely enjoyed it. My husband ordered the seafood pot pie and commented on the freshness of the seafood. We will definitely plan to return to this restaurant because it is a quaint and homey place with good food.
Stuffed artichoke was very good as was grilled octopus salad. Seafood pot pie and short ribs were delicious. Only complaint was that potatoes were not hot when served. Crepes were scrumptious except for the banana which was substituted for strawberries. Service was prompt and professional. Would definitely recommend.
Had dinner at MCT this past Friday night. We wanted to go someplace we hadn't been before. We were always fans of Mim's in their old Syosset local before they closed and go to the Roslyn location every so often. When we found out the owners also had Mill Creek Tavern we had to try it. The menu is very similar to Mim's Roslyn and prepared the same. Food was very good. The only issues we had were that parking was terrible, the service was slow, and you have to walk through the bar area which was packed with people in order to get in/out of the restaurant. Would We go back? Maybe every once in a while.
Went for Long Island Restaurant Week! Started with the grilled octopus salad, for my main I had the seafood pot pie, omg heaven! For dessert I had the wild mixed berries. Portions are large, so I ended up taking food home and saved it for lunch! This place is so so cute. Service was friendly and all around a home run! Can’t wait to go back to this place when I’m in the area again, to try some other delish items
Once again this restaurant never fails. Went for restaurant week and had the roasted cauliflower with barley, gigante beans, rough chopped herbs, Dijon, lemon. delish!! and the Swordfish Provençale Tomatoes, onion, olives, spinach fresh herb garlic, white wine, roasted potatoes. Wow!! Finished it of with some strawberry crepes with hot fudge. What more can you ask for!!
What a pleasant surprise...It was restaurant week as I discovered upon arrival. Great Value and Very Tasty as well. Meatballs and Osso Bucco were a homerun and my friend said the octopus was charred perfectly, Duck was very crispy but not dry. I always have a great experience here but was nice to sample some new items and it was excellent as expected.
i went for restaurant week to try some of the menu items I'd seen online- and they did not disappoint!! Meatballs were outstanding and Duck was crispy and tender- the blueberry port was AMAZING! staff always super friendly, and very knowledgeable about menu items, which I appreciate. By far the best in town- can't wait to go back
MCT has a homey atmosphere. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The were tentative but not overbearing. The physical atmosphere is bright and clean. The food is pleasantly presented and served hot and the cold food cold. The wine was well chilled and a very generous pouring. I will be back sooner than later!
This is one of the best spots for dining on the north coast of Long Island! Great food, great service and great ambiance! The Trifecta! While we have eaten here many times (indeed, I have to admit that this is a family "favorite"), I have been at fault for never taking the time to write a review. Perhaps it was because, on Thursday night, we possibly had a "best ever" evening and I decided that it was about time! No......over due time!
We took the kids's grandmother (my mother-in-law), who is Danish and very much a sophisticated "world traveller"! And she was blown away! My son's filet mignon could not have been better at Prime, or Ruth's Chris, The Palm or Keen's or Gallaghers! The vegetarian dish was fabulous and on and on. Nothing was short of excellent. And...the service topped it all. The treated our children like the prince and princess we think they are and the service was effecient and professional without sacrificing an ounce of comfortable familiarity! All around I highly recommend Mill Creek Tavern....whether it be an everyday family meal (excellent value! The filet was part of a 3 course dinner for @$26, including several choices for appetizers and an apple crisp with ice cream that our 12 year old couldn't finish!) or a family birthday (yes, someone had the cake and song and everyone in the restaurant joined in. Yes, it felt like family!).
Don't miss this!
Our party of 4 went for Restaurant Week to enjoy the event at Mill Creek Tavern in Bayville. We always enjoy our visits to this quaint venue ....Restaurant week was an opportunity to try dishes not previously experienced and to embibe and party with nice people. You really dont need an excuse to go there only the need for fun and good food!
Food was amazing! Had the chicken pot pie and the skirt steak. Both were fantastic! Cocktails were tasty as well. Great portion size. My only complaint is the servers were hard to come by! Literally the bus boy came to our table 5 times more than the server. Would definitely go back
We'd spent the afternoon exploring Oyster Bay and walking along the beach just up the street, and Mill Creek Tavern was the perfect place to stop in for dinner on a busy Saturday night.
We walked right in, were greeted warmly by the manager and waitstaff, and were seated in the small but cozy, comfortable dining area. The bar was cheerful and busy, and served up quick glasses of Guinness and pilsner that our waitress brought to our table. The dining room was mostly full, but our food came very quickly and was really excellent. The seafood pot-pie, one of Mill Creek's specialties, was a religious experience--this is a must-have! The penne with broccoli/sun-dried tomatoes/garlic/chardonnay sauce was also excellent. There were plenty of other pasta and seafood dishes that looked like wonderful choices as well.
This is a friendly, fun place with a good menu, great food, and great service. We would recommend this for a date, a special group gathering, or just a nice dinner at a great location near the beach.
We enjoyed our dinner at Mill Creek Tavern, the other night. To our surprise they still had the summer Sunday lobster special. It was all delicious, the lobster, corn and bake potato. The staff was curtious, friendly, helpful making the even experience delightful.
Mill Creek Tavern is always an easy choice to make. Great food with something for everyone. My guests were from out of town and wanted seafood in Bayville. They especially enjoyed the mussels they all had as an appetizer. Personally I always enjoy their onion soup...it's not overly salty. It's easy to park in lot across the street if their lot is full. Worth the trip to visit quaint Bayville.
Went to Mill Creek on a Thursday Night for the first time. The tavern was busy and full, but not overly noisy. Got seated in corner booth for two. Service was great and very attentive to all our requests. Food was great. Had the granny smith apples and chicken and the lemon sole. For appetizers split the wedge salad and perogies. All the food had great flavor. The server was knowledgeable about all the items and was helpful in deciding what to get. Will go back and try the other items on Menu.
