Mill Creek Tavern Ratings and Reviews
Our party of 4 went for Restaurant Week to enjoy the event at Mill Creek Tavern in Bayville. We always enjoy our visits to this quaint venue ....Restaurant week was an opportunity to try dishes not previously experienced and to embibe and party with nice people. You really dont need an excuse to go there only the need for fun and good food!
We'd spent the afternoon exploring Oyster Bay and walking along the beach just up the street, and Mill Creek Tavern was the perfect place to stop in for dinner on a busy Saturday night.
We walked right in, were greeted warmly by the manager and waitstaff, and were seated in the small but cozy, comfortable dining area. The bar was cheerful and busy, and served up quick glasses of Guinness and pilsner that our waitress brought to our table. The dining room was mostly full, but our food came very quickly and was really excellent. The seafood pot-pie, one of Mill Creek's specialties, was a religious experience--this is a must-have! The penne with broccoli/sun-dried tomatoes/garlic/chardonnay sauce was also excellent. There were plenty of other pasta and seafood dishes that looked like wonderful choices as well.
This is a friendly, fun place with a good menu, great food, and great service. We would recommend this for a date, a special group gathering, or just a nice dinner at a great location near the beach.
We enjoyed our dinner at Mill Creek Tavern, the other night. To our surprise they still had the summer Sunday lobster special. It was all delicious, the lobster, corn and bake potato. The staff was curtious, friendly, helpful making the even experience delightful.
Mill Creek Tavern is always an easy choice to make. Great food with something for everyone. My guests were from out of town and wanted seafood in Bayville. They especially enjoyed the mussels they all had as an appetizer. Personally I always enjoy their onion soup...it's not overly salty. It's easy to park in lot across the street if their lot is full. Worth the trip to visit quaint Bayville.
Went to Mill Creek on a Thursday Night for the first time. The tavern was busy and full, but not overly noisy. Got seated in corner booth for two. Service was great and very attentive to all our requests. Food was great. Had the granny smith apples and chicken and the lemon sole. For appetizers split the wedge salad and perogies. All the food had great flavor. The server was knowledgeable about all the items and was helpful in deciding what to get. Will go back and try the other items on Menu.
My schnitzel was over cooked. The hot German Potato salad was made with mushy potatoes and had a sharp vinegar taste. My wife's Risotto with shrimp and scallops Had very tiny shrimp. The asparagus was non existent. I expect better for what we paid. The Onion Soup was excellent.
Despite passing by here for many years, we never had a meal here. Starting with warm Brie stuffed bread and arugala salad we knew this was going to be memorable. One & 1/2 lb steamed Lobster was perfect. Shrimp and scallop on risotta with veggies was excellent. Save room for double chocolate cake with ice cream. Bar in next room was not even noticeable as far as noise. We will be back often
We had a very nice meal at the Mill Creek Inn. Its a very casual but cozy, comfortable neighborhood spot. I had the smoked salmon appetizer, sauerbraten short rib with delicious red cabbage and excellent sweet potato fries and yummy Oreo mousse pie from the Thursday night Bavarian prefix menu. Good beer selection and the wine by the glass selection was satisfactory.
It's too far from home for us but if I was local I imagine we would eat there often.
Mill Creek Tavern is a favorite of ours. The food is consistently good and the service is typically a 5, but was a little slower this time, perhaps be4cause we weren't ready. The room has a nice ambiance, not too dark, not too bright and there is a fireplace as well. Love the Lobster Bisque, salmon, pot pies and there are many options for seafood.
We have been here once before and had a better experience. Today's was good, but not stellar. The Pirogies were on point! Burger? Fantastic! I ordered the fish tacos and was slightly disappointed. I asked for the salsa on the side because I don't like onions, but it was on top anyway. The server offered to fix it but I had already taken off the onions and eaten one of the two tacos by this point so I declined. The tacos were hard to eat and not super flavorful. So I was disappointed but my husband loved everything. Last time was better so I would go back.
I've been to Mill Creek before and the food was MUCH better than this (special event) evening. The waitress, who had the whole room was very good; I'd recommend more than one for an evening affair. However I was there to be entertained and meet with friends-it satisfied my goal.
Went to eat there on Mothers Day we were seated 15 mins early which was fine. Took forever to get our food. Place wasnt that crowded yet. Only ordered sodas, 1 appetizer and 5 dinners no dessert. 2 1/2 hours till we left. Food was so so. My daughter wasnt impressed
We enjoyed our first experience at Mill Creek Tavern during restaurant week. The cod was tender, flavorful and mouth watering. The roast duck was cooked to perfection. Portions were right size, not too small and not too big. Overall a great dining experience. Barnstormer beer was available but $7/can was a bit pricey, no?
