Food was good but you feel like you are in Wendy’s!
No beer or wine in stock!
No breadsticks or salad with entree!
A $7.99 bottle of wine they charged $31.00??Woodbridge wine!
We will not be back!
Read some negative reviews about service but we didn’t have any problems! Service very attentive & friendly. Cute place-not the easiest to get to tho!
We had pizza & pasta Milantoni. Pizza was good, but needed more flavor-didn’t have a lot of sauce on it. I was surprised when the chicken on the pasta Milantoni was breaded. It said sautéed on the menu so wasn’t expecting the breading. Alfredo sauce was good but not great. This dish would have been much better if chicken wasn’t breaded & just sautéed with Italian seasoning.
We didn’t have dessert
My husband and I loved it! He had the chicken and veggies and I had the Manicotti with spaghetti. We also had the bruschetta. The bread the serve with their meals is also GREAT! I can’t wait to go back!
I will not patronize this establishment again nor recommend it to anyone.
Tuesday night, 5 people with reservations, 6:30 p.m. table was not ready.
The food is always terrific. This visit the service was slow and a little unorganized. For example, the waitress brought out the bread for the table. However we had to ask for plates. Also charged us for a pitcher of sangria when we had one glass.
Will return because the food is great and hope service is better next time.
Nothing you couldn’t do fairly easily at home, but pretty good for the price.
We made a reservation for 7pm. When we arrived another party had been waiting an hour for their “reserved” time. We waited with another party for about 20 minutes in the “hostess area” and were completely ignored by the staff. When we saw another table that had already been seated stand up and walk out due to lack of service we followed them out the door and went to Old Chicago.
Great tasting food especially the sauces. A little expensive for what you get.
The food was delicious, however the service was something to be desired. There were only 4 people on the floor on a Sunday evening. I do realize that due to a storm and the restaurants down the street being without power people went to Milantoni's however, that is no excuse for my party not to even be recognized for 1/2 hour! We had a 7:00 pm reservation, got there on time and not even a hello from anyone. The set up for the hostess and greeting is horrible, there should be a desk where you can check in with someone, we thought we weren't getting acknowledged because we weren't in the right spot. While we were waiting, there was a large party waiting, we watched as there were 3 tables that stayed empty for the 1/2 hour we waited, people could have at least been seated! When a few tables got free, they bussed those tables, while smaller parties were still waiting and set up the table for the large party!
Not sure if there was a manager there or not, if there was...they need some training. I'm sure you lost sales by not seating the smaller parties while they were waiting to get enough tables to set up for the large party. Several small partied could have been in and out by the time we got seated.
My party and I discussed the situation (one of them has worked at a very well known Steak house here in Louisville) and we will give you all another try because we loved the food. We all believe you need a nicer place with a better atmosphere, we are hoping you are just testing the Louisville waters before you go to a bigger, nicer place. We haven't been to the Bardstown location yet, but from the website it looks MUCH nicer.
I wish I lived in Louisville just so I could come to this restaurant more often! It was near a conference I was attending, and I always like trying out local businesses that I can't get at home, and Milantoni didn't disappoint in the least. I'll be dreaming of this food for weeks. (Ordered Italian cheese bread and stuffed manicotti on top of spaghetti, subbed red sauce for alfredo sauce.)
I had been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile now. I took my parents and husband to try this new find. We all gave it a thumbs up!! My lobster ravioli was delicious and my husbands chicken parm with homemade sauce was a hit. I have already recommended Milantoni's to a coworker and she loved it.
Service was slow for the large party that we had, but food was great, server attentive, and kids enjoyed. Will definitely return. Sangria is a must!
This is certainly a "homey" spot tucked away in an old Wendy's, so it's funny and quirky. The food is truly authentic Italian and very, very good! The wait staff is friendly and there always seems to be a party going on. Fun, friendly, and great value. We love it!
I only gave the numbers I gave because it was the only way Open Table would allow me to post. Actually we did not eat here as the manager told me she was unable to honor our reservation. She said they were overwhelmed by the fact that Open Table did not close reservations. Neither the restaurant nor Open Table thought it necessary to inform me of this. Quite the Mother’s Day gift to have 12 people expecting to share lunch only to be told “we can’t honor your reservation.” Thanks for nothing Open Table and Milantoni. Won’t have to worry about me patronizing either ever again. I’ll simply call myself in the future. Unbelievable simply unbelievable.
Warm and somewhat attentive service. The food was unappetizing all around. We won’t be back.
The three of us tried different dinners and they were all just mediocre. They lacked flavor. Need to step up the seasonings. Loved the Parmesan bread appetizer!
Service was wonderful and everyone there was super friendly.
Atmosphere lacked a clean fresh look.
The food was decent, but the sauces were really thick. I would have liked good ole fashioned hot out of the oven Italian bread. It reminded me of a chain restaurant, not a mom and pops restaurant. I was hoping for mom and pops.
Two Baked Spaghetti with meat sauce and one Fettuccine Alfredo. All delicious. Sweet teas were fresh and sweet. Our food was delicious. The restaurant is in an old renovated building of some sort. The outside has little aesthetic appeal. The inside had an Italian decor and was pleasant. The dining room was not crowded, but two large groups seated near us were quite boisterous. My husband and daughter said the N Y Cheesecakes were good also.
We have been going to Milantoni since it opened. We're never disappointed. However, I think that this visit showed some growing pains. Because I'm comfortable there, I always order the same 2 or 3 items. My dish was wonderful as always as was my husband's. Our friend, who goes with us frequently to eat there usually gets pizza. This time, it was very bland and the crust wasn't really crunchy. There were many soft, gooey spots. Also, the bread was different this visit. Not bad, but with a very different taste. We like the original one better!
My one gripe with this restaurant is their side salad. It costs $5 and all it is is Iceberg Lettuce and some cheese and cherry tomatoes. The salad dressings are amazing but for that price, there should be better lettuce and some other veggies on it. Never order a salad because of it!
We recommend this restaurant to everyone. I hope that opening the 2 new stores doesn't ruin the quality of the original one.
Enjoyed visiting this hidden jewel on Hurstbourne Pkwy.
Although the ambiance could use some sprucing up, the food more than made up for it.
Most everything is prepared fresh daily and the items we ordered were delicious and served HOT. The bread was excellent.
The service was friendly and prompt.
Looking forward to our next visit and will recommend Milantoni to family and friends.
Food was good and reasonably priced. Was in a converted Wendy’s fast food restaurant and the interior was not elegant. It was certainly serviceable though. While my reservation was confirmed by Oprn Table the restaurant never received it and they said they were having trouble with Open Table. Got there early enough so it wasn’t an issue
Food was very good and freshly prepared. From prior evaluations we were prepared for a wait. Service was a little slow, but the staff was very friendly. Not sure they had enough employees working for the amount of people that were seated.
My baked Zita was the best I’ve ever had. Tiramisu was wonderful. I will return for sure. Even in its humble location, the service and food was first class
The room was really cold. Our table was near the door. You really need to have a double door system so the outside air-- hot or cold doesn't change the interior temperature so drastically. Otherwise, everything was great!
I ordered chicken picata. What came out was chicken in a red sauce. The corrected version was rubbery.
Food was excellent and serving sizes more than ample. Very friendly staff hat checked on us frequently.
Only negative was parking. I parked behind gas station as their lot was full. When we left, two truck was just pulling up... so watch out! I was lucky!!!
No liquor license but food was good. Many kids
Food is excellent, but service was horrible. We were given our meal for free as compensation and told that service is better on weeknights. We don't typically go out during the week, so not sure if we will be able to come back. I would like to give this place a second shot, but if service is bad on Saturday nights, not sure what the point is. Shame, though. Food is amazing!
No liquor license is a problem. Great food
Great food! Everything Homemade! Very friendly atmosphere and family owned. Free complimentary bread was amazing!
Great homemade Italian food.
Delicious. Some of the best Alfredo ever.
This was our 2nd visit. I had the baked ziti both times! The homemade sauce is delicious! My husband had the sausage & pasta & loved it! No liquor license yet, so no wine, but the bread sticks & sauce filled us up instead!
Excellent food. We had six different entrees and all were delicious. Will definitely be going back. Hopefully next time, the liquor license will have come through.
