   Considering it had closed down weeks before you confirmed the booking it was interesting that you did not bother to warn us. That gives considerable confidence in the efficiency of your organisation. I would be wary of buying shares. Bernie jackson

   Made the booking online for a Father's Day meal, but turned up at Milan to see a note stuck to the door saying 'closed until further notice'. Small group of very cheesed off people outside with a ruined evening. At the very least, OpenTable should liaise with restaurants to mitigate events like this, otherwise, what's the point in using the service?

   Booked for father's day with my daughter's arrived to see a piece of paper in the door saying it was closed until further notice I wasn't informed by text or email which completely ruined my father's day so won't be going back again

   We booked the table here as a celebration for my daughters engagement with some friends and were really looking forward to it...... however when we arrived the restaurant was closed..... yes closed with just a note on the door saying closed till further notice. To say I was very angry is an understatement..... very embarrassing when your friends have travelled to get here on our recommendation....... 8pm on a Saturday night and everywhere is fully booked. They had my mobile number and e mail address so the least they could have done is contact me to say it was closed.....this is unacceptable from a restaurant. We certainly would not recommend it to anyone .... our plans were spoilt for such a special occasion. Had to put stars in the box above ....... obviously not necessary for this review.

   Unfortunately, despite a confirmatory E-Mail on the morning of the booking, we found a handwritten notice on the door informing us that, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Restaurant was closed until further notice! No E-mail or telephone call to warn us so our special occasion became a bit of a scramble to find somewhere else to eat! A great pity, as we have enjoyed our experience at this Restaurant on many previous occasions.

   Unfortunately our meal was cancelled at 1600 on the day our meal was booked, due to a gas leak on the premises. The restaurant rang us up and said we could be moved to their sister restaurant called The Manor. However there was an additional charge of £3.95 per person to our original £10.00 set meal at Milan. As if was so last minute we agreed to be moved to The Manor. I have been to The Manor previously and I really enjoyed the food there. We went to The Manor expecting great things. When we arrived nobody same over to us to greet us or check who we were? So I spoke to one of the waiters who appeared quite busy but he did listen to me when I told him we had arrived for a booking at 1900 and we were originally booked with Milan in West Kirby. We were told to take a seat and wait for someone to come over. It did not feel like our presence was very welcome at this point. We were given menus to browse and our drinks order was taken. Finally we sat down about 19.35. The food was very nice at The Manor, but the service from one of the male waiters was not very attentive. Both my friends were a bit upset by the way he spoke to them. I tried not to get too unsettled by it all and made light of it. It would be nice to attend Milan soon as I do prefer the service there and the food is usually splendid.

   Disappointed with the quality of the Sunday roast. Service was unmanaged e.g. Tables being set up at 12 45 and wine glasses left on the table when no wine was ordered. Needs an experienced person to manage the service and good quality. Not value for money on this occasion.

   I really enjoyed my dining experience but I felt the drinks prices, particularly wine are excessive. I appreciate the restaurant do attractive dining offers through the week so perhaps the drinks menu is such to offset this. This didn't apply to our experience so hence my value for money rating. The food was lovely and service attentive.

   We like this restaurant, but recognise this is a new chef and new menu. Service was slow but waitresses were pleasant. Fish dishes excellent. Pate not as good as previously. Disappointing that side veg now not included and some dishes not available at all. Wine was excellent!

    Always impressed with the food and atmosphere here. Warm snug place with excellent service. Two courses for set price is great value. If I had a complaint I think twenty pound for a starting price bottle of wine is a bit steep!! All in all Milan is a great place to spend a few hours.
