Recently, we had a very bad customer experience with Rachel, the restaurant manager. When my son ate lunch their with his friends, he left his debit card. The next day as he was about to get on a plane, he realized he didn't have his card. He called me to ask if I could contact Mikuni's. I did, but they would not give us his card, even though I had a photo of his driver's license with the same name as the debit card. Even when I told them he was on a plane and had no other way to get money except for this debit card. This is so un-Tahoe like! My husband and I are moving to Truckee because we love the people and vibe here! It is so relaxed and full of spirit, but this strange interaction and mean disposition has been very disappointing. Perhaps this is the rule of Mikuni's, but it is one I've never heard of at any other restaurant ever. I have left my Visa card many places (unfortunately!) and have never not had it returned and in a friendly manner! Usually people are so glad to help you out. Not Rachel. She is a rule follower. Good for you! We will never return to your rule-ridden restaurant. And we will be glad to pass on our experience to everyone we know. I guess Rachel is not "living in the Tahoe dream."
