Mikhuna Japanese-Peruvian Cuisine

Went to celebrate my birthday. We were promptly seated. Atmosphere was comfortable except for a nearby table that was a bit loud. Food was good. Service was good. Will return in the future.

Food is greatly cooked with good service. However celebrating wife’s bday we got very small table even though reservation was made with awareness of her bday. No diet coke available which was hard for me(might not matter to non diet coke drinkers). Good place for freshly cooked food however not recommended for special event.

Amazing food! Amazing atmosphere!

Very welcoming customer service. Nice and peaceful environment to relax and have conversations. Good music and amazing food. My husband is very picky and I was finally able to convince him to try this place out and he gave it a definite 10. He is Puerto Rican and definitely enjoyed the tostones. We will be frequent visitors.

Mikhuna was a new experience for my wife and I. We really enjoyed spending our Valentine's evening dinner there. I'm anxious to try Mikhuna's full menu as Valentine's Day was a tasting event.

First time visit, very impressed with service, food, and speed

I’m a regular here, it’s my go to restaurant and has yet to be anything than excellent.
Start with the ceviche peruana, sample some of the raw fish selections and finish with a few robata skewers.

The service was great. We did not even have to look for our wait staff when we need something. The dishes on the menu are all great and we look forward to return and try all the others in the menu

The food is definitely good. Not outstanding, but very good. However, it is priced as a fine dining experience, which the ambiance is far from fine dining. The ambiance is closer to one of those great "hole in the wall" places that you find with great prices and really good authentic food but no ambiance. For the prices, I'd expect to not have TV's hanging with football playing. I'd expect to have a full bar, center pieces on the tables and/or table clothes, updated furniture, and not having an open kitchen unless the chef's work is put on display as artwork. It has potential, but as is, I felt it was way too expensive for at best an 'okay' experience.

We had a party of 10. This was a great place to have a dinner "experience" where we enjoyed some fantastic fusions. No complaints across the board! The service was fantastic, prices were appropriate, and the menu was well constructed. A great local place to take guests, have a date, or simply enjoy by yourself. Highly reccomend.

Good food. Slow/infrequent service. Never received one of the things we ordered.

I found it quite expensive. Having said that, I would go back again. The food and service were excellent. It was lovely to have something "different" from the norm. Everything was fresh and savory.

Great food and service! The waiter was excellent and the whole staff was helpful. I came with my mom who is wheelchair bound and they accommodated us superbly. When we arrived, the music was a bit loud and they lowered the volume a little at our request. The food is authentic Latin American food. You can enjoy yuca, ceviche and maduros.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in town. We invited some friends and they loved everything they taste.

Great cucumber martini...ordered my ribeye medium, but it was pink and bloody throughout, very chewy....didn't see much value in forking over $140 for dinner for 2.....was not too impressed.

The food is yummy and the service was great. I had the “Ropa Vieja” and I lived it. I had sangria and it was just ok.

Excellent food but I had to wait more than one hour to get my food, the place wasn't full but I noticed that the kitchen was serving too slow, our waitress Tony, overwhelmed, forgot even the drinks, don't like to see this service pattern because the food is great however the service has been down for months, probably because the focus is on the new Prime restaurant.

The atmosphere is amazing and the waiters do an amazing job! The waiters not only can describe every menu item to the T but they have some great recommendations! This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants.

Food was excellent. Disappointed that they don't have cocktails here only beer and wine although they do make a "wine cocktail" which is good but pricey at $11. Not on the menu but for $25 you can get a platter of all the apps which are all excellent so that and share a main course is enough for two if you want to try a lot without breaking the bank.

Five stars are not enough! I love this restaurant, my favorite in Mcallen and probably in general. The food is amazing, creative and delicious. The service is good too. But the deserts...WOW! Every time I go I try the special for that day and it has not disappointed. A jewel in McAllen for sure!
