This is now our favorite restaurant in the RGV. The chef does a magical job of blending flavors that is equivalent to a great conductor leading an orchestra. The staff was attentive to our every need. We were very touched and grateful when the chef took the time to come to our table so we could thank him personally and then created a special dessert for my birthday. First time for us (celebrating my spouse’s birthday) but repeat customers in our party. We went on their recommendation. It was well worth it. Food and service were excellent. Ambiance was ok - it felt a bit like a diner. An awesome mural on the wall, though. A bit pricy, but food and service compensated for it.

Wow simplemente quede sorprendida de el sabor en la comida desde la entrada, el plato fuerte, las bebidas y el postre! Se convirtió desde mi primer visita en mi top 3, de restaurantes en la ciudad, pedí el ceviche peruano, no recuerdo los nombres de los otros platos pero estuvieron fantásticos después de postre pedí el de almendras, y un carajillo! Quede encantada con el servicio y lo bonito del lugar también!!! Sin ninguna duda lo recomiendo mucho. Gracias! Saludos!

We wanted to try this restaurant for awhile now as it peaked our interest. In our opinion , we rate this restaurant 3 stars. It didn’t provide much of any bold flavor that stood out. We had the ropa vieja and arroz con mariscos. The ropa vieja just didn’t have any flavorful kick to it. The brisket/pork was tender but abit plain in taste. The arroz con mariscos was our favorite dish but they gave little seafood with the entree, 85% of it was rice (though it was flavorful). We finished with their version of cheesecake which was fine, not too sweet nor extremely creamy. Our main issue was with the service. We got there at 5:30pm on a Thursday. There were only two couples prior to us getting there and they decided to sit us right next to one of them. Our table was a small table only for two and so was the other couple. We seriously could’ve just put both our tables together we were that close, lol. Even they looked at us and the hostess thinking it was a mistake. I understand the sitting arrangement on a busy day at peak hours but didn’t see the thought process on this considering the restaurant was slow at that time and didn’t really pick up even after we left. The next issue was our waiter. He was fine at first but then vanished halfway through. We had to ask the waiter that was assisting the couple next to us with getting us condiments and refills. The music and ambiance was fine though. I do feel it’s a nice restaurant to have a date/friendly catch up meal but when it comes to a special event I’d look into somewhere where the wait staff is more attentive.

We ate outside on the patio and except for a little wind it was very nice not too noisy. We were going to eat inside at 1st but it was a cold inside and not much privacy. Food was delicious especially the Peruvian Taku Taku all if it was delicious. Definitely will be back!

We found this by accident and we are happy we did. This restaurant is located in a very trendy area of McAllen. The craft cocktail menu was fantastic. They served us a gratis small blistered edamame w/eel sauce. WOW! Delicious. The food menu is really mind boggling. There is a stronger Peruvian influence in the food than Japanese. I had the Spicy Salmon Yak skewer and my hubby had the Tuna Tataki Ceviche dish. Both of ours were very light and delicious. My BIL had the Arroz Con Mariscos which was TO DIE FOR! I would definitely have that next time around and split it with someone. The flavors were amazing. Ask for Santiago. He was our waiter and his knowledge of Peruvian food was amazing. He knows his stuff.

Mikhuna has always had outstanding cuisine and service. Its decoration is quite attractive and unique. However, the loud electronic "music" is absolutely unnecessary and, together with the acoustics that elevate the noise level of animated conversations, makes the experience of dining there less pleasant than could be with a more relaxed ambiance.

Menu is a little different, but give it a chance. The waiter recommended TACU TACU, which is a Grilled 12oz ribeye served on a bed of peruvian-style refried rice and beans. Topped with fried egg, sautéed onions, tomato, and sweet plantains. This was something completely out of my norm, but I gave it a try. It was excellent. Steak was super tender, juicy, and tasty. Others In my party had the octopus, the paella, the tacos, and the sushi rolls. Everyone was very pleased with the meal. Our waiter was excellent, and very attentive.

Great service! Food was great! No happy hour menu anymore. They said they didn’t have a happy hour menu. I was a bit confused since last time they did have one and it’s advertised. They told us which items were available for happy hour but prices were different.
