Mikette was turning into one of our favorite places to eat and had recommeded it to a lot of friends (currently telling them not to bother), then they completely changed the menu and pretty much got rid of everything we ordered. I asked the waiter why and for some new recommendations and received a pretty lack luster response to both questions. This is okay, or pretty good, seems to be popular no excitement and just added to our already disappointed mindset. Also - they are no longer supporting wisely which was also a bummer.
Along the lines of a classic French Bistro, Mikette serves classic French dishes which are good for the soul. The menu is expansive enough to suit anyone's tastes. The food choices, whether they be appetizers or entrees are tasty, simple, and flavorful. Mikette is a definite "favorite" on my list.
Crab Cakes, Salmon Pate, Kale Caesar Salad, and an Avocado Toast.....ALL AMAZING!!!!
We've been wanting to go for a while, and finally went for my wife's birthday. Nice, cosy place, great food, great service. We will definitely go again.
very good, good prices, good quality, good service
Very nice ambience and food was very, very good. We were here for Restaurant "bargain" but will definitely come again.
My second business lunch as Mikette in the last couple of months. Excellent food and service. The price is fair, but towards the high end of what I typically do for lunch. Would definitely recommend to others.
Mikette is great! We went for restaurant week after not going for a while and it was fantastic
Wonderful! The service was excellent and the wood was delicious. Mikette is becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Ann Arbor.
Food is excellent and portions are not too big. Wine list is good. Waitstaff is very friendly. There was a very long wait time to receive our orders and it is just too loud to have a conversation or to relax.
great food as always thank you! would recommend highly
Loved everything about this place! Ambiance, food, drinks. It's very well conceived and executed. I can't think of anything that could have made our experience better. Highly recommended.
Staff were welcoming, friendly, unobtrusive, attentive yet not hovering. The food was heavenly. Everything was perfectly done. Will definitely be going back again and again.
On a rare Weekend day when both my fiancée and I had the day off, we decided to do a date night and reserved the table at Mikette. This was our 4th visit, and it has become our favorite on U of M's North Campus (Plymouth Road).
On my last visit, we had been informed of the fried chicken dinner weekly special (Sunday afternoons only).
Mikette is wonderful for getting several small plates and sharing. I like to mix up ordering new dishes with old favorites. I have never been disappointed with any dish I have ordered here. I would recommend Mikette to almost anyone, comfort food (Beef Bourguignon),
seafood lovers (mussels, oysters, fish) , and items for picky foodies.
The decorations are lovely, and it has a very intimate atmosphere that is perfect for a romantic date. If you prefer a normal table (instead of a high-top) it is recommended to make a reservation. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items. They always ask to see if any first-time visitors need help navigating the menu.
On this visit ordered:
1. The Salmon Pâté (with Zingerman's Bread)
This is my fiancée's favorite dish. The dill in the seasoning is just fantastic. This is one we almost always order.
2. The Fried Chicken Special
Crispy breading and very tender/juicy meat! It was 1/2 a chicken so it included 1 breast, 1 drum, 1 thigh, and 1 wing. I will be back on a future Sunday to have this again for sure (and I'll bring along my friends!) The portion size is enough for two people to share if you are getting a few small plates to share. But I am sure one person could finish it if he/she was very hungry.
3. The Duck Dog
This was also a new item for us to try! (I don't remember seeing it on the menu for our last visit?) It ending up being very tasty! A rich and flavorful duck sausage with grilled onions on a toasted slice of brioche (in lieu of a bun), and mustard on the side. I did not expect it to be that good, but Mikette delivers without fail!
Attentive service without hovering. The mushroom hash was unlike any hash I have eaten, but very good.
