   A very mediocre experience. Given the reviews, I was expecting delicious food and attentive service. I received neither. First, they were out of a number of things on the menu. Now, I understand running out of one or two items on occasion, but I was presented with an entire litany of things they didn't have. The excuse? The previous day had been Mothers' Day. In other words, a planned high-traffic day that you ~could~ have prepared for. I could have gotten past the limited menu if the food had actually been good or the service had been attentive and helpful. Sadly this was not the case. The food was rather pedestrian, and as for the service, when I asked for a taste of one of the wines to see if I would like it, I practically received an eye roll, and then when I - politely - indicated that it wasn't to my taste and ordered another (more expensive) glass the server appeared to be personally insulted. I was basically ignored the rest of the evening, given only the most rudimentary service while he fawned incessantly over the table next to me. Miami is an amazingly culturally diverse city, and I have been been fortunate to enjoy many amazing meals in this culinary wonderland. Sadly, this was not one of them. I have no plans to return.

   We LOVE Mignonette. It never disappoints. The ONLY thing I noticed this time was that the rice that came with the red fish seemed to have been done before and didn't taste fresh. The fish was excellent and so was the service. The restaurant doesn't have all the glitz and glamour in comparison to many other trendy restaurants, but that is exactly why we love it. The service and the food there is WAY better than any of these other trendy spots. Hope it remains that way. :)

   Their fish and seafood are always superb, but I WORSHIP their soups-the-day. Last night’s lobster bisque was a home run, but the gumbo and the She Crab soup are always phenomenal too.

    Freddie was very knowledgeable and engaging. The mussels were excellent and the sauce super tasty, my fav. Polenta was not appetizing at all and should be substituted with creamed potatoes or risotto. Service overall was good. Wine per glass a bit pricey but I would go back for the mussels 😍
