    Gabby was amazing as we prepared for this special evening celebrating my wife’s birthday. Her accommodation to my brother and sister-in-law who live out of state and wanted to purchase a bottle of Prosecco for the table was amazing. She even created a card to go with the bottle so my wife knew it was a gift from afar. Overall the service given by Gabby was top notch and we can’t wait to come back.

    Our server (the male) was fantastic! The room is small so make sure to get a reservation. I wish the music matched the ambiance of the restaurant (listening to Green Day in a fine dining vibe wasn’t quite it) but overall we had a good experience and would come back. The NY Strip (medium rare) was cooked perfectly and was delicious! We had the duck leg and deviled egg appetizer; it tasted like sesame chicken and an egg wrapped in a wonton. I would skip this text time. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant. But the salted caramel creme brûlée was excellent! We had a bottle of the house cab and it was ok also, but to be expected for the less expensive bottle! Overall had a fun experience and looking forward to trying the bone marrow next.

    We were excited to dry midtown reserve. However we left disappointed. We started with the Brussels, but there were more onion strings than Brussels. Then I had the tuna carpaccio which was layered in sweet soy glaze, mayo, and wasabi cream. And I mean layered. You could barely taste the tuna, I ended up scraping most of it off. My wife had scallops and they were ok but overcooked. But hey. At least we tried it.

    Night and day difference from the first time I came to this establishment. I ordered the same dish; wedge salad and scallops. I was sorely disappointed. The wedge salad presentation was simply embarrassing. The bacon wrapped asparagus was 2 pieces of asparagus with partially cooked bacon wrapped around it. Had to send it back and take it off the bill. The scallops were over cooked and looked terrible. Unfortunately I will never be back. Total waste of money.

    Duck wings were great. Fillet was great. Service was very fast. The bone in prime rib was ordered medium well. And served beyond well done. A $75 steak should have been perfect. Ordered 3 drinks and a couple side salads as well. Overall not worth the $280

    Nice relaxing dining place. Food was ok but not for the price you pay. Wife had the filet which had no flavor whatsoever. Our reservation was for 615 which by then had ran out of asparagus. Surprising as the place seats around 30. Appetizer was good as was my scallops.

    We have always enjoyed going here but the food quality was not up to the price point last night. Steak was burnt on outside and rare on inside, lobster was not cooked well and the dessert tasted frozen and thawed. We like going to Midtown because everything is usually done well and different but last night it tasted like every other restaurant in town. We will give it a try again but probably on the weekend where things seems to have higher standard

    My wife and I ate dinner at Midtown Reserve the evening of August 15th. We ordered the baked feta appetizer and a Caesar Salad each. She ordered the scallops and I had the filet. I ordered bacon wrapped asparagus and the Hasselback potato. Our $12 per glass wine, her chardonnay and my pinot noir were adequate with stingy pours. The feta appetizer was very good, indicating a fine meal ahead of us. Our anticipation was shattered when our salads arrived. The only semblance to Caesar Salad we saw was the wilted lettuce seemed to be romaine, and there were parmesan shavings on top. I have never seen roasted cherry tomatoes in Caesar Salad, and the garnish of crispy fried onions, fresh from the can was totally not what I have experienced with Caesar Salad on three continents. The dressing didn’t seem to be a Caesar dressing either. The scallops were afloat in an asparagus and pancetta sauce. My wife could only eat one, and the one we took home for the cat went untouched. My $54 filet was dry and drab. I am sure the cook would have blamed that on me ordering it cooked medium well, but I can name at least two restaurants in CR that have served me filets cooked medium well that were juicy and tasty. The bacon wrapped asparagus tasted smoky, possibly from the raw bacon it was wrapped in. Never before had this with bacon wrapped asparagus. The Hasselback potato looked inviting, but by this time I had no appetite. Altogether a memorable experience. One I will avoid Midtown Reserve in order to not experience again.

    Another great meal at Midtown Reserve. We had the filet and the special spare ribs with ravioli which was amazing. Cocktails were perfection. A little noisy because of a surprise b-day party but they were having a great time. So glad we have this place for a special meal, celebration or business occasion.

    The menu was ambitious and had excellent choices. For drinks, my wife commented that her Cosmo was the best she'd ever had. My bourbon Old Fashioned was also excellent. I had a tuna carpaccio which was outstanding and sizable. My wife had the NY Strip which was perfectly cooked to medium rare, and was also excellent. The brussel sprouts appetizer was excellent. We went on a Monday night, half expecting to be the only people there, but it was about 1/3 filled. The decor is modern, but with a lot of black accents which my wife didn't care for.

    My wife suggested Midtown Reserve to celebrate our anniversary, and we were not disappointed. Everything was delicious, the service was excellent and once again my wife was right! Highly recommended, I can’t wait to return to dive deeper into the menu.

    Though on the expensive side for Cedar Rapids, the fabulous food, drink, and service created a dining experience of equal or greater value. he menu includes several very appealing seafood and beef entrée options. Sides are selected separately, and are large (I selected two ... brought some of each home). Keep desert in mind when ordering. My meal of a roll, salad, entrée, and sides didn't leave room, which was too bad. The house made selections all sounded wonderful, and like everything else, probably are. Drinks from the bar were unique and tasty.

    My friend's birthday! We really enjoyed the dining experience. It is quite expensive, which makes sense due to the high quality of the ingredients and preparation, especially the steaks and seafood. Defintely a special occasion dinner destination!

    Excellent food. Steak was huge and tasty cooked as ordered. Ahi tuna was also delicious. Server was on top of everything and always there at the correct time. Was expensive but worth it.

    My husband and I ate at Midtown Reserve on Friday, March 10. It was our first visit. The food was very, very good - everything we had was top-notch. We shared the crab stuffed mushrooms and both of us had a side caesar. My entree was the seared tuna; my husband had the blackened salmon. A bottle of the Italian pinot grigio was very reasonably priced. Our wait staff were attendant and efficient. My only "dings" to the overall experience are probably minor issues. I hate being called "guys" or being asked if I'm still "working" on my food. There are so many other ways of addressing the situation. And lastly, the view is weird: here you are, eating a terrific meal and your view is a parking lot. With tip, the bill for the two of us was over $200. We'll be back, but not frequently.

    Service was fantastic from the moment we walked in. The food was amazing, from the bread w/cayenne butter to the blackened samon and 12 oz filet we had for dinner, both entrees just melted in your mouth. We will definitely be returning regularly!

    The only negative for us was the price point. We dine out frequently at upscale restaurants like Orchard Green in Iowa City and Cobble Hill in Cedar Rapids. Your prices are a bit high for the quantity of food. The quantity of the entree was fine but would be helpful to include a potato and vegetable to the plate. The quality, ambiance and service were outstanding.
