Food was disappointing overall, compared to the reviews. However the artichoke soup and Brussels sprouts were fantastic
We had a wonderful meal. Our server was EXCELLENT,she went over and above! Great dinner..great food and fabulous friends made for a great evening!
This meal was just good.
Delicious dinner - always a winner! We always have a wonderful meal with excellent service at Midtown Cafe. We highly recommend this little gem in Nashville!
Midtown Cafe is one of the best local restaurants in Nashville. With traditional southern cuisine, great service, and a warm atmosphere, I enjoy dining here.
Epic. Just fantastic.
Wonderful as always.
Always a top choice for business or pleasure. Great food and great atmosphere. I love that you can actually have a conversation over lunch without being drowned out by music. Service is always great and the food has never disappointed.
We had an excellent meal and they were very friendly. The Brussel Sprouts were very good!
As a vegan, I can typically order sides and salad or pasta and be thrilled in an award-winning restaurant. But, my overdone Brussel sprouts dish was a disappointment: a few raw pieces of Granny Smith apple, 3 walnuts sprinkled on top didn't make it either tastier or beautiful. Our bottle of wine was fantastic and the server was exemplary, very seasoned, gracious and not meddlesome at all!
Good food and service. Was a bit loud for table conversation. They joined tables for out party and the bench seat was not level. I sat there so as not to bother our guests. Overall, a good experience; I’ll likely return. This was our second visit; it was better the first time.
Unbelievable lemon artichoke cream based soup. I had the chicken saltimboca
Great food and great service - I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice place.
Great service and food
Midtown is always a delight! Servers are wonderful. We love the convenience of having the shuttle available.
Best shrimp and grits I ever had!
Everything was awesome! I highly recommend this place!
Always wonderful! Great service, good recommendations and excellent food.
Slow service and quite simply some of the pest food we have eaten in the Nashville area. We were fooled by the declarations that they are in the top 50 restaurants. Poor food and a restaurant to avoid
Food was amazing. The fried Brussel sprouts was delicious. Mussels were plentiful and great. Across the street from the courtyard Vanderbilt. Walk to the original Gigi,s cupcakes for dessert. Highly recommend midtown cafe.
We have gone to Midtown Cafe for years. Live in southern CA so hadn’t been for over six years, but it was still excellent. The shrimp and grits were yummy as were the scallops!
Our server, Dale, was very good. In the past we have been served by Lynn and she, too, did an awesome job taking care of us.
The food was amazing. I got the special which was sea bass and it was so good. I also got the shrimp and grits and they were good. Definitely worth going to. The ambiance could use a little pick me up but maybe that’s why it’s so good because it’s more focused on the food. The chocolate lava cake was also really good and I usually don’t love lava cake.
Food was excellent. Service was better. It is always a great go to for quality and value!
Service was top notch! My friend had the salmon which she loved. I was a bit disappointed in my sea bass. It was cooked fine, but seemed greasy and definitely fishy tasting. The mashed potatoes and julienned vegetables were good, but the fresh coconut layer cake was the star of the show.
Meal was delicious, as always. Service friendly and responsive. Long time customer.
Nice, quiet atmosphere with excellent service and fantastic food! Would return here again and highly recommend!
My favorite restaurant in Nashville!! Great food, great service!
We can’t to Nashville for a few days . Ran across this neighborhood gem . Great service and good food .
A little high prices but you do get a lot of food.
We live in Columbus Ohio and visit Nashville every couple of years. We always have dinner at Midtown Cafe - the food and service is excellent. This time we spent quite a bit of time talking to James, our waiter and, as usual, felt right at home. The trout and pork dinners were delicious and, as James described, a “southern portion” (more than enough!). We’ll definitely be back during our next visit
We all enjoyed!
We come here so often and always LOVE it, but we thought we would try one of the new restaurants in the Nashville area. After looking at other restaurant menus, parking issues, and so-so reviews, we landed right back at Midtown Cafe. It never disappoints and it truly one of THE TOP restaurants in Nashville. Excellent menu, and always numerous daily specials. Randy Rayburn and his staff are the best of the best.
We have always enjoyed Midtown Cafe. This visit wasn't as perfect as usual. First, the dish I ordered was delicious, however, the grilled salmon atop it was barely cooked, and had to be sent back to complete. Thankfully, I was able to enjoy the pasta and vegetables while waiting. As a dish, I would definitely recommend the Meditteranean Pasta. The shrimp and grits my husband ordered were perfect. We ordered coffee afterward, and it was served with cream, but no spoons. We requested them twice, which were never brought. We eventually went to the bar and retrieved them. Our valet was very friendly and personable.
Overall, it was a good visit, and we will return.
Had an excellent salmon omelette with fresh fruit. Service was great. My only issue was the noise level as it was difficult to hear my dining companions at times. But, I’ll definitely be back!
I was expecting much better based on the number of reviews. We were there for lunch and it was busy. Parking is a challenge (valet only) and it was backed up. Tables are tight. Food is so-so...not equal to the price. Not horrible...but not great.
Delicious food with an outstanding presentation on all dishes. Quiet, comfortable and classy. Soft jazz music in the background. Waitstaff was friendly, courteous and very knowledgeable about the menu. The shuttle driver to and from the restaurant back to our hotel was very engaging. He also provided us with some history and pointed out landmarks during the drive.
Wonderful anniversary dinner with my wife. Parking and valeting was a little confusing because the attendant wasn't outside. Seated before our time and food came a perfect intervals. Brussel sprouts and soup was fabulous to begin the night.
