Midtown Cafe Ratings and Reviews
Oh what a night! The ease of making a reservation for 4 was the beginning. After getting to the restaurant we didn’t wait at all and were escorted to our table. Our server was attentive and fun. Our food, wine, and dessert were superb. Three of us had scallops and one had shrimp and grits. All were perfectly prepared and delicious! The complimentary shuttle took us to TPAC and back for the Jersey Boys. Thank you Midtown Cafe for making a night out with my best friends so easy . Kudos from the roof tops for a job well done!
We met for a business lunch at Midtown and the food was fine but felt so rushed we did not even finish our lunch. They were busy but NOT that busy. The manager and waiters were continuously eyeing our table, rushing around and manager was pushing waitress to hurry and get checks and first time in many years that I left wishing we hadn't gone to lunch at Midtown.
We have had breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dinner was our most recent and it was disappointing. They had a shrimp scampi type special and it was so heavy with butter, it was pretty icky. My date had grouper and it was good. Wait staff was amazing and the drinks and wine were lovely. I think we just had a stroke of bad luck with the shrimp dish. Every other meal has been wonderful.
We have eaten at Midtown many times. We have been there for the five wedding anniversaries and have always been pleased. The server has always congratulated us on our special occasion and the food has always been great. This time the server spent all of his time with a young lady that had turned 21 two days before. My wife had the hanger steak that she had a hard time cutting. I had the duck and couldn't cut it. This has always been one of our favorite restaurants but I don't think we will be going back.
One reason I, along with other regulars, return to Midtown Cafe is that it is reliable. The service staff is knowledgeable but not stuffy, friendly but professional, the food is always good and one can talk privately even though the hum throughout the room is lively.
Had a business meeting at Midtown because it is the perfect spot to enjoy the food and talk seriously. Breakfast/brunch was delightful! Eggs and bacon were perfect, the omelette was devoured quickly and the oatmeal was superb. Food and service is ALWAYS great!!
We had our annual Christmas Lunch this year with our friend. We all enjoyed the food we ordered and the presentations were nicely done. The server was attentive and helpful. Our main disappointment was that there were no holiday decorations either on the tables or on the walls. We concluded that the management did not want to offend anyone so chose no holiday decor.
There is a reason a restaurant lasts for close to 30 years. Midtown never disappoints -- the great menu makes it difficult to decide what you want, but whatever you choose will be excellent for sure. The atmosphere is perfect for conversation -- and the service top-notch.
Discovered this restaurant through Open Table. We were very glad to see they could accommodate our large party of nine on short notice. The food was great and the service was even better. The waitstaff was attentive to our needs and kept our drinks filled (always a plus in my book)! If I had to complain about something, I would say the portions could have been a little larger given the price paid, but other than that, I would definitely recommend to a friend!
Midtown Cafe is always my first choice for Nashville dining. Today's dinning experience was a business meeting and I am happy to say that it was a perfect atmosphere to conduct business. The food and service were great, as usual. The low key, intimate atmosphere allowed for conversation. Definitely a place to try out for business or pleasure.
