Girlfriend night out to celebrate a birthday. All Nashville local ladies, have eaten there many times. Love the food. The service was so bad it became a joke. 20% gratuity added for party of 6 . Not happy.
Waiter first came across as gruff but in fact was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Wide selection of entrees, good seafood and veal selections.
The brussels sprouts app was really, really good.
Derek was great
The serving staff did an excellent job of timing everything so that we could make the shuttle to the event venue.
A Nashville gem. Randy Rayburn is a true leader in the restaurant business.
It has been a while since we have been there...but, oh...SO GOOD...We could talk...waiter-Doug - was outstanding...food is always good - especially the lemon artichoke soup! Very nice ambiance! easy to park...Hard to Beat!!!
We were seated immediately and greeted within a few minutes. We had the salmon and beef ribs. Both were very good as was the service.
Wait staff was very attentive and the food was delicious!
The food is always delicious! Great spot in a quaint setting. The luncheon specials are always the perfect meal!
First time in Nashville. Our waiter was extremely attentive and informative. The quality of the food was excellent and the preparation and presentation was superb. We all would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and will come back on our next trip.
We heard great things about the restaurant and we were not disappointed. We originally made the reservation for 2 and then needed to change to 3, they were happy to accommodate us and we didn't require a time change, which was really nice. We tried the beef carpaccio, crab cakes, sea bass, Brussels sprouts and pork tenderloin. We enjoyed our meal tremendously. I really loved the red lentils that were with the sea bass (which was cooked perfectly), they were just really interesting and reminded me of stuffing! Wine was really great as well, but we were too full to go any further and were unable to try to any desserts I am sorry to say!
The staff, the food, the shuttle driver...all great! Book NOW!
I was the only one of four who had been there, even though it had been some time ago. All raved about their meals. My cousin, who has lived in SC many years, said the mussels were the best he had ever had.
A fabulous dining experience!!
We had a really great dinner and it is important to remember some of the long standing favorites. As new places come and go Midtown Cafe still is consistant in service with fantastic food and overall experience. If you want to go some place and without a doubt be left living like you spent your money and it was worth it, then go to Midtown Cafe... Do not waste your time waiting for the server to come around to your table. Maybe bring you what you ordered then hand you a huge bill and wonder why did we bother to go out in the first place.
The place is quite if you are looking for nice converstation with friends. The duck was great and so was the fish special that evening. The trout which is a long time favorite is wonderful. You can't go wrong with any of the pasta dishes. We always order the crab cakes to start. I can't count the times we have ordered the salads. They are also known for the signature soup and have a great steak. One of the great things about the menu is all of the great options there really is something for everyone in the event you are looking for something that will please a large party.
Midtown is known for food, having a team of people that will get your food out on time, you in your seat on time, and give you exactly what you ordered the way you ordered it. Sounds easy right... but it is not easy. We go out all the time and half the time we try a new place we are left feeling disappointed when we try something new and trendy.
This is a a gem of a place with great parking a fantastic location with a great selection of wine and craft cocktails. Love the easy flow of the bar into the dining room. It has a very nice flow and yet has a very low noise level so it is very easy to carry on converstation if you are looking for a place to have lunch and conduct business as well. Whatever the case a quick bite with a friend, dinner on a date night or business for lunch. Midtown Cafe never dissappoints and continues to be one the top places.
Midtown Cafe is a small, cute restaurant but may have been overwhelmed the evening we went. Our food was bland and some plates looked hastily put together. They do have a nice bar with a good selection of top shelf liquors.
Such a great dinner with friends! Haven’t had dinner here in quite a while, just brunch. Dinner and service was excellent. Also; a big perk was the “feee” shuttle to a downtown event. Thanks, Midtown! Look forward to our next dinner here!
I read reviews of this restaurant and decided to try it. The place was packed with a Vanderbilt alumnae group and quite noisy. The food was good but the flavors in the salmon dish didn't quite work for me. Salmon, risotto, with a heavy tomato topping. The couple next to me had the meatloaf, which looked yummy, and a chicken in a puff pastry with cream sauce. I was not wowed by would go back and try something different that might be more to my liking.
Nice evening with friends. The food was really good, the staff was attentive and provided great service. The ambiance was just okay.
I had not been to MidTown Cafe in quite some time and will not make that mistake again!
Food and service were excellent. It was unusually noisy, but it was packed on a Friday night. We had a party of 7 and no one was disappointed.
For over a decade, this has been my favorite restaurant in Nashville. Whether for a business breakfast or lunch, or dinner with friends, hard to beat MidTown Cafe!
Go for the lemon artichoke soup and the shrimp and grits.
Exceeded expectations. The only thing better than the food was the service. Dale was excellent and spot on with his recommendations.
Midtown Cafe is my favorite restaurant in Nashville! It is consistently awesome in every way!
Dinner was wonderful on our first visit in a long time. We have already made a reservation for our next trip to Nashville. This was very conveniently located and very popular. We all liked our choices... lemon artichoke soup, Caesar salad, Veal Piccata, Chicken Scallopini, Fettucine Special, Mushroom Risotto. It was all great and service was prompt and our server was personable, too. No room for dessert but next time!
Great martinis, too.
Midtown Cafe has been our favorite for years, and now that we live away from Nashville, we make a point to have dinner there at least once whenever we're in town. The service is first-rate, the food is always wonderful, and we love having dinner there.
Awesome night out. Kevin provided great service. The lamb chops were good and the veal piccata was amazing.
Small hometown feel. Lemon artichoke soup was tasty but perhaps a little over salted. Coca Cola short ribs and mushroom risotto were excellent and my dinner companion enjoyed the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Great variety in the dinner and dessert menus. Service was attentive and efficient
Midtown Cafe never disappoints. I had a wonderful vegan meal whipped up by the Chef and the rest of the table reveled in Lamb Chops, Salmon and Mussels. Our service was great and we had a lovely , accessible dining experience. MidTown will always be one of my favorite spots as was the late great SunSet Grill. They have their old favorites on the menu as well as daily specials. Divine as always!
Enjoyed dinner at Midtown Cafe with two of my friends. Food was delicious and we spent the night interpreting the art near our table. Cozy atmosphere.
I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The food is ALWAYS superb and the service is great. Everyone is friendly, helpful and quick to make your meal a pleasurable experience.
Great place for dinner with great menu choices! I was not too impressed with breakfast though!
Always consistent and delicious.
Meals were perfect temp, salad was wonderful and we had a nice bottle of wine.
Our server was excellent.
We have eaten here enough that it is hard to find new ways to describe the experience. The food is excellent, the service professional, and it is wonderful to have transportation available to downtown events.
Delicious food and delightful service made for another lovely date.
Atmosphere very good, convenient, service was terrific, value very good.
Our meal was excellent, the wine notably good, but the best part was the charming and thoughtful service!
Midtown Cafe never disappoints. Great food, great service, great atmosphere! One of our favorite places to dine.
I love the food and service at Midtown. The restaurant building is tired and needs some work but the food and service is so good, it barely matters. I also love Midtown's shuttle to/from downtown venues.
The food was good, but not great. The crab cakes had a little too much bread, the veal was a small portion and a tad chewy, but good flavor. Nice ambiance and not too loud. Excellent wait staff.
