My most recent visit last week was excellent as was my first, years ago. If you’re looking for a boisterous venue to throw back a few beers and chomp on bar nuts, this isn’t the place to go. It’s charming, fairly quiet, and elegant despite the relatively reasonable prices. It’s my favorite restaurant. Did I mention that the food is delicious? Servers are attentive but they do not hover or rush the patron.

This restaurant has been one of Nashville's best restaurants for many years. Over those years I've eaten there often. The consistency of the quality is exceptional. Randy Rayburn (owner) continues to be a VIP when it comes to eating out in Music City. You won't be disappointed! Many of his customers are regulars. My out of town guest were exceptionally pleased. One was eating gluten-free, the other had shrimp & grits. I had blackened grouper. All great!

Love this restaurant. Have a business lunch about once a month here. Great food and service. Can occasionally get loud as it fills up. Best to make a reservation ahead of time.

Delicious food! After trying many trendy restaurants in Nashville that seemed to be trying too hard, it was a delight to find a place that has obviously earned its reputation. The lemon artichoke soup was a wonderful surprise in flavor. Both of our entrees were beautiful flavor combinations. The only reason I took points away for ambiance and noise is because it is a cramped area. I read earlier reviews saying that the noise level was low. As we were getting ready to leave, the place had filled up and it was becoming quite loud. I have a great deal of respect for the servers, too. The tables are very close together, so they have very little room to maneuver while still being graceful. We agreed that the value for the restaurant was there. This is mainly because we have spent double the money at other places that did not deliver near the quality of food that Midtown Cafe did.

Our fourth visit to this restaurant over a ten year period. Consistently good food. Good wine list. The lemon artichoke soup was one of the best soups I’ve ever eaten. Save room for dessert, we tried a couple and they were excellent.

I have been to Midtown Cafe many times and I have to say that the quality of the food this time was not good, not seasoned. I also noticed the emptiness of the restaurant. That has never happened, especially during the lunch hour. I don't know if you have changed chefs, management, or both. I have referred you to several friends in the past, but I will have to try you at least one more time before doing that again. This saddens me, because the food has always been wonderful.

Midtown Cafe was recommended by a friend and we were very pleased with a nice menu selection and excellent service. The staff has been there a long time and they treated us like special guests. We had a lovely meal. Very conveniently located by Vanderbilt University.

There's a reason Midtown Cafe has been a Nashville staple for 20 years. Warm staff, well prepared food, consistent food and service and great location. This is one of my go-to restaurants for business meetings over breakfast or lunch. You can actually hear one another talk and the food is always tasty.

Our waitress was friendly, efficient and fun. The appetizer and basket of biscuits were great. Three of us ordered the brussel sprouts special of the day as entrees and they were very disappointing. Too many sprouts and not enough of the oranges, apples, candied nuts, etc. The sprouts were good on the outside braised part, but not as great on the inside and they were overwhelming. We all sent about half of them back uneaten. Perhaps they would have been better as a shared appetizer.

Nice. Good food but lighting and tables capes could be improved. Also it was my birthday and they offered me a free dessert which they then charged me for. I didn’t want to cause a scene so I just paid for it.

We were a group of 8 and loved the private nook they put is in. You could have a conversation and hear everyone which is a cjallenge at most nashville restaurants these days. Service was not friendly and while some who ate a vegetarian dish loved their meals, my steak was terrible--tasted like something from outback.

Our service was excellent and the food was superb. We walked quite a distance to the restaurant and asked our waiter if he could help us get a cab back to our Air BNB. The restaurant has a shuttle service and the driver gave us some great information about Nashville. He and the waiter were both super helpful.

We reserved at Midtown off of our friends's recommendation. He has an office in Nashville and swears by this establishment.
Great evening even when I got us there an hour early (living on EDT dining in CDT). The service was friendly, paced well and not intrusive at all. This was our first visit to Nashville in 20 years since living there in the late 90's. While so much has changed and overall one of the missing items is southern hospitality, Midtown still has that southern charm and delicious food. We will be back!
