we started going back here after trying all the other new restaurants that are coming to Nashville. this is good as always. great portions, nice selections and great service. complimentary valet parking. we had dinner, but they do great breakfast/brunch and lunch as well.
The food and service were excellent. There were many choices on the menu at a variety of price points. The shrimp and grits and the crab cakes were excellent and well prepared. The food came out hot and was prepared to our requests. There is opportunity to increase the portion size of the desserts to make them shareable. Overall, a great spot. I will dine here again in the future.
Thoroughly pleasant meal in a relaxed environment. A bit too loud for us elderly to converse easily.
Delicious food and ambience but the attentive service makes it the best! I eat here every time I travel to Nashville.
1st date anniversary
It was not as spacious as expected but overall it was a good experience.
Hard to beat the blackened salmon on a spinach salad
Wonderful, as usual. I've eaten most everything on the menu at one time or another and I can honestly say I've not had a single bad bite. Love this place.
For a relatively small café, Midtown offers everything one expects from large restaurants in service, menu offerings, comfort, and ambiance. All staff were very pleasant and helpful, the food was excellent, and the prices reasonable. We enjoyed the experience immensely and highly recommend Midtown to anyone who wants a fine dining opportunity!
We had a late lunch, so the restaurant was very quiet. Our server was very gracious, the Crab Cakes and Mediterranean Pasta were both terrific and the portions were generous. We would definitely go back and recommend to friends.
Disappointed. Waiter snobby. Bathrooms double as a storage area. Food was just ok. I had a Brussels sprout salad that was all brown and tasted old
Delicious food - highly recommend when visiting Nashville! Service was spectacular. Thank you!
I ordered a cosmopolitan cocktail and was finished with my soup before it was brought to the table. We ordered two glasses of wine and were almost finished with our entrees before we received those. We were seated in the small room off the entry to the right. The tables are too close - we had to practically whisper but the couple at the table next to us did not bother as they were very loud. If we had wanted to have dinner with them - we would have asked to be seated at their table. Food was excellent but service and ambiance were not.
Randy was out ill ... but his staff, faced with a full house, stepped up with great style and skill. The room was filled with power brokers ... and the staff catered brilliantly to each. And treated us ordinary people with the same high regard ... even more. Always feel like royalty at Midtown but with reasonable not royal prices. Absolutely loooove the place. My absolute go-to, even more so when Randy is there.
If you’re in town, it’s a must! Everything was amazing
This is an old time favorite. Sophisticated, grown up experience. Love that they provide shuttle service to venues for entertainment.
My only complaint is that I was not sure that my margarita had any liquor in it. The duck breast was not the best choice either. But this will not keep me from returning.
Very helpful valet. Excellent lunch, with good service. Very accommodating host. I wish we had taken pictures. I had not seen my friend in six years!
Excellent staff, good environment, balanced menu. Only negative issue was food was not hot, but between tepid and warm. Admittedly, this one dish--two people had the same dish.
The people, food and overall experience was wonderful
Food was delicious. Parking lot is small. Waiter was very attentive. Table was very close to door so it felt. Rey right in the restaurant. Overall, I enjoyed the food and atmosphere
This place was fun! The decor itself is a little dated and doesn't really fit in with the other restaurants in the area, but the staff is phenomenal and the menu is vast.
The lobster mac n' cheese is to die for. The shrimp and grits were well seasoned and delicious. The soups were wonderful. Overall the menu has lots to offer.
They even have a shuttle that can take you to nearby hot spots. Great time!
We were on vacation in Nashville. Made reservations that morning. We arrived a little early because I thought we would need to park car but they have parking at the restaurant. We thought the food was excellent, pork tenderloin and shrimp with pasta. The service was excellent and they got us out early so had plenty of time to get to our show at the Grand Old Opry. Will definitely be back again
Delicious meal with large portions. 😊
Fulfilled the great things written, exemplar food and service.
Reviews are so much better than the reality. The restaurant could be charming but it’s an industrial looking dump. Food is so overpriced and not made from quality products. In a town with so many food restaurants, I’m mad that I wasted a night here.
Very happy with our experience. Food was excellent. Our waitress was helpful with explaining the menu and offering suggestions and was responsive to our needs.
Excellent and diverse menu that is always a perfect lunch spot.
Blackened salmon on top of a spinach salad , 5 star
This won't surprise anyone who knows the restaurant, but Midtown Cafe has to be the most reliable restaurant in Nashville these days. Excellent food, and the specials are well-constructed. The wine list is diverse and reasonably priced. Service is consistently exemplary. It's not flashy but it's also consistently well-executed.
As usual, our food and service were top-notch.
We always LOVE Midtown!
Wonderful ambience and overall excellent experience.
Midtown Cafe can always be relied upon. Randy Rayburn owns and operates the restaurant in the best possible way. Great for any meal!
We were celebrating two birthdays while vacationing in Nashville and chose Midtown Cafe for their birthday dinner. It was easy to get there and well worth it!
They were out of veal and most of the desserts but it didn’t matter to us. The food was amazing and their mini biscuits are so delicious! Everyone ordered different things...chicken, shrimp & grits, meatloaf, sea bass... and everyone was happy with their choices. Desserts were just as good, too. I attempted to share the key lime pie but ate most of it myself - perfect balance of tart and sweet.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a restaurant that won’t disappoint!
We were visiting Nashville, and we researched where to eat. Midtown Cafe was on list of one of the best restaurants in Nashville. We really enjoyed our meal. The presentation of the food was elegant and the food was delicious. They had a great specialty cocktail list as well as a nice selection of beer and wine. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. The service was exceptional. Make sure you try the lemon artichoke soup. I highly recommend Midtown cafe!
Wonderful meal. Food was piping hot. Great service.
The noise level was awful. Couldn't even have a conversation at our table. Food was good but not outstanding. May be our last visit.
MidTown Cafe followed by the OJays and the Love Train. What a night and a wonderful ride to the Symphony. This is a “Best“ resturant in Nashville. Love this delicious food.
Nice atmosphere, good wine and after dinner coffees, good service
What a fabulous find. As a Chef who is glutenfree, dairyfree, its difficult finding this level of overall quality. Very fresh and satisfying, surprisingly so.
