This won't surprise anyone who knows the restaurant, but Midtown Cafe has to be the most reliable restaurant in Nashville these days. Excellent food, and the specials are well-constructed. The wine list is diverse and reasonably priced. Service is consistently exemplary. It's not flashy but it's also consistently well-executed.
As usual, our food and service were top-notch.
We always LOVE Midtown!
Midtown Cafe can always be relied upon. Randy Rayburn owns and operates the restaurant in the best possible way. Great for any meal!
We were celebrating two birthdays while vacationing in Nashville and chose Midtown Cafe for their birthday dinner. It was easy to get there and well worth it!
They were out of veal and most of the desserts but it didn’t matter to us. The food was amazing and their mini biscuits are so delicious! Everyone ordered different things...chicken, shrimp & grits, meatloaf, sea bass... and everyone was happy with their choices. Desserts were just as good, too. I attempted to share the key lime pie but ate most of it myself - perfect balance of tart and sweet.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a restaurant that won’t disappoint!
We were visiting Nashville, and we researched where to eat. Midtown Cafe was on list of one of the best restaurants in Nashville. We really enjoyed our meal. The presentation of the food was elegant and the food was delicious. They had a great specialty cocktail list as well as a nice selection of beer and wine. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. The service was exceptional. Make sure you try the lemon artichoke soup. I highly recommend Midtown cafe!
Wonderful meal. Food was piping hot. Great service.
The noise level was awful. Couldn't even have a conversation at our table. Food was good but not outstanding. May be our last visit.
MidTown Cafe followed by the OJays and the Love Train. What a night and a wonderful ride to the Symphony. This is a “Best“ resturant in Nashville. Love this delicious food.
Nice atmosphere, good wine and after dinner coffees, good service
What a fabulous find. As a Chef who is glutenfree, dairyfree, its difficult finding this level of overall quality. Very fresh and satisfying, surprisingly so.
Excellent dinner! Wonderful food and attentive service.
I have eaten at Midtown Café twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. As a breakfast/brunch/lunch place it's great...the menu is varied and quite delicious. I highly recommend it for those meals. As a dinner restaurant it is just OK... there are many Nashville restaurants in the same price range that are significantly better for dinner. For lunch we had the Fish & Chips as well as Chicken Marsala...both excellent. Additionally our desserts were both A+, the coconut cake and the chocolate pecan pie.
For dinner we each had the duck...and it wasn't bad, but I've had much better. Our dessert, the chocolate lava cake, was typical of that dessert, nothing outstanding but still perfectly fine.
It's a big GO for breakfast, lunch and brunch, but it's a NO for dinner.
Great food and service, old town feel which was very nice. Amazing food and wine list
Service was great and personable. Food was average based on the relatively higher prices.
Thanks wonderful experience
Midtown Café is the go-to spot for business meals or for pleasure. It is always a superb choice. The food is excellent, hard to make choices sometimes because everything I have ever had is great. The service is impeccable - I have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is quiet - and pleasant and you can actually hear your table companions (a nice change from many of the restaurants around town).
I highly recommend them for business meal or for just hanging out with friends or that special person!
Midtown Cafe is one of my favorite places to go for lunch in Nashville. It's easy to get to, and valet parking makes for no-stress parking. Reservations are taken and the 3 of us were seated immediately after arriving. Waitress was prompt, courteous, and efficient. Food included a brunch and lunch menu along with daily specials. Each of us enjoyed our food choices. Prices are reasonable. All in all we had an enjoyable afternoon.
Midtown has long been a favorite of ours especially when attending events in the downtown area after dinner. The food is always great and there are those specials to entice you to venture beyond the menu. We have never had a bad meal at Midtown and the service is great. These guys know how to time your meal for a leisurely dinner or to get you in and out when you are hustling to get to an event. An added perk is the shuttle service which allows you to avoid the problems of parking downtown.
We were in town for LSU-Vandy football game and wanted a quieter more intimate dinner on Saturday night and Midtown Cafe totally what we were looking for. Would definitely return and recommend to friends!!!
Very good service. waiter attentive and responsive.
Accommodated us for dinner for 12! Excellent service, food, and drinks!
First time here. Friday night, very busy. Leftover water glass on table. Waitress overworked and rushed. Brussels sprout appetizer delicious. Veal piccata average and not worth the price. Probably would not return as so many incredible restaurants in Nashville.
Great food and service ! Never disappointed me so far
Anniversary - pleasantly surprised as it had been a while since we were there
It is one of my favorites. Great food and ambiance. It is a solid restaurant that doesn’t cater to the wannabes but to the people who are comfortable with who they are and don’t need to be seen.
This was a bummer experience- I have loved midtown cafe for years. Haven’t been in about 3 as I’d heard it had gone downhill. It really has! The restaurant seemed a little bit dingy but I know how long it has been there.
Our service was terrible, no hello, no thank yous. No niceties whatsoever. We had to ask for cocktail list- she explained nothing. The lemon artichoke soup was great as always. That’s about it. It would take quite a bit to get me back.
Got there at 7, got served at 7:50 PM, filet was overcooked so had it sent back. New steak was brought out at 8:10. Was given a free dessert to make up for it plus 10% off of the check. My prime meatloaf was excellent.
Good food and service
A perfect night --- great flexibility in ordering menu items.. Marvelous wine list and the food - fantastic! A wonderful neighborhood gem and a place where conversation is a treat and not a yelling match!
It was great as always the staff was very attentive and nice. Even to the point the server proactively offered to fix an over cooked piece of salmon on our salad. We will definitely be back
What a fabulous place. We had lunch here and it was so good that we booked in for dinner the same day before we left town. Food and service excellent with very good wine list.
Best breakfast experience ever! Food was excellent as was the service!!
The beef rib was sent back by my husband because it was so tough, this by a man who never sends food back. The three way veal was tasty but tough, for $39, to have tough veal, is not acceptable, especially when there is so heavy on the carbs and sauce on all three styles of veal that you can barely see the that the size of each piece of veal is tiny! Over-rated for such a high reviewed restaurant.
Great food and excellent service. Highly recommended.
The food was absolutely amazing! The staff was so kind and attentive to all of our needs. Great staff and great atmosphere.
Excellent food and service. Very quaint setting.
Great food, small place but did a great job getting food out to us and very good service.
Nice, quiet local restaurant with excellent service and cuisine. The artichoke lemon soup is amazing. Chicken Saltimbucco was delicious, and the creme brule a tasty finish to our meal. Highly recommend for quiet dining in downtown Nashville.
One of my favorite spots in Nashville!
