Loved the grits
Great food and service!
Excellent but not incredible. Broad menu.
Perfect place for lunch before going to the Frist. Easy parking. Distanced seating. Quiet. Great food. Excellent service! Some places don’t change because they don’t need to. You can always count on a wonderful dining experience at Midtown!
First time to have Sunday brunch at Midtown. Have been there many times for lunch and dinner. Same excellent experience and a thumbs up from an eleven year old about the “seriously delicious chocolate chip pancakes!”. We will definitely be going back. So glad they are back open!
Helped accommodate us with covid restrictions despite having a large party, excellent food and service, close location to fun nightlife post meal.
We went to Midtown for our 17 year anniversary. I had never been (my wife had) but I remembered it being around for so many years--it felt like a slice of the old Nashville I miss. Everything now is super trendy and pretentious, and most times I feel the food isn't that great. Midtown Cafe must be doing something right surviving this long. It has a great inside feel, and everything on their menu looks great. For such a nice restaurant, it is affordable too. We kind of blew it out being our anniversary, but a regular date night will not break the bank. I will definitely be going back.
Everyone loved the food and the service from the bar and the kitchen was timely and seamless. Would definitely recommend
Excellent all around service and quality of food. Would definitely return.
Good food. Well prepared. The green beans were a little hard for my taste but overall the food and service was very good.
Great to be back at this wonderful restaurant. The Pacific Rim salad was delicious and the cranberry biscuits were a treat.
Midtown Cafe has been a mainstay in the Nashville restaurant scene for years, and yet still delivers a top of the line dining experience. How do you do it, Randy?
Midtown Cafe is one of the few consistently outstanding restaurants that has sustained long term excellence. If you have not been lately - GO- the food continues to be amazing, the service is excellent and it is more than socially distanced. Randy has and continues to run a truly remarkable dining experience that is truly a piece of Nashville that should not be missed, but should also be revisited. Cannot recommend enough!
Awesome good and great service!
Our waiter was amazing and gave great input on the food we had questions about. Everything was delicious!
Out of the fray spot, valet parking, unprepossessing exterior, darkened, quiet interior. Excellent food, wine/spirts and service. Great spot for a quiet, adult, getaway evening.
Fantastic! We went for brunch and would highly recommend going. Located in a cute house, good atmosphere and the food was tremendous!
Wonderful breakfast/brunch site. Service was excellent.
We unexpectedly found ourselves with one evening free during a short Nashville stay. We searched for a good restaurant that had available reservations, and Midtown was third in line after the first two we tried were unavailable. I can't imagine our first two choices being as good as Midtown. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, our server was efficient and made good conversation, and the food was beyond excellent. I had the shrimp and grits, which was hands-down the best I've ever eaten. Spouse had the short rib, which was cooked perfectly and served with creamy and delicious mushroom risotto. Both portions were right-sized, and we had room for the yummy butterscotch habanero bread pudding. A total 5-star experience at a surprisingly reasonable price.
A nice birthday celebration
It was fantastic
Whether you’re a Nashville resident or a visitor to our town, make sure you experience this wonderful restaurant. Known as one of the Top 50 Restaurants in the South. I give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Gaylelynn was wonderful!! She made us welcome and provided great service.
Midtown Cafe never lets us down. The food is consistently excellent. The service is gracious. And it is a comfortable place for conversation with friends. I highly recommend!
The shrimp & grits are the BEST! Just had to say that first. The waiter was great! We took his recommendations on the entrees and we were not disappointed . The trout & the pork were excellent. The place is close to the music area, about a 5-10 minute drive. Definitely worth the drive. We’ll be coming back next time we’re in Nashville,
Would highly recommend! We took our friends from Texas to dinner here and they loved it! The side dishes such as Brussel Sprouts & lobster Mac N Cheese is amazing!
This is a restaurant where you will not be disappointed.
Food was delicious!
The food was delicious and that includes the biscuits. The server was very friendly. The cocktails were very sweet, would stick to beer or wine.
Midtown Cafe is simply the best. No one could ask for a better culinary experience. Randy Rayburn has consistently provided exemplary leadership for Nashville’s restaurant industry.
Consistently good food and service. Never disappointed.
Everything was perfect for our easter brunch. We were seated on time for our reservation, waitress was friendly and knowledgable and the food was delicious.
We love Midtown Cafe The food and service is always excellent. However, this time we ordered Crabmeat omelets for breakfast. There was no crabmeat in the omelet. If there was it was minuscule. For $13 extra (a $25 omelet) there should have been at least some lump crabmeat. Very disappointed!
This is a gem in the West End. Predictably good with excellent service. The lemon artichoke soup is phenomenal. One of the best brunch/lunch spots downtown.
Great food! Love the artichoke soup, cheese grits, and the meatloaf!
Always a favorite location for business lunches or special occasions.
We had amazing food, a great waiter, and a really good time.
The restaurant is looking old, dark and tired. Everyone was friendly an accommodating but unfortunately, the food was average. I would love to see a revamp of the restaurant and menu to put Midtown cafe back on the map!!
Ryan, our server, made a good night great! Very personable and eager to suggest options for appetizers and entrees. We had the lemon soup...so yummy! Crab cake appetizer that was chock full of crab meat and two sauces with it. Delicious. The salmon was perfection, as well. We loved eating here and will be back soon!
I discovered Midtown through OpenTable. First they lie to you about the HORRIBLE parking situation! Midtown didn't have the Trout Almondine I was expecting so I ordered the 'Tennessee' Trout. The trout was good and in a tasty cream sauce. I substituted the red potatoes for Smoked Gouda Grits which looked like they were put on my plate with an ice cream scooper. The grits were stiff and a disappointment. The Sautéed Spinach that came with my trout was excellent being flavorful and rich. The restaurant was understaffed...our server was also a host and bartender.
