Fantastic! Much better than Cyprus was!
Very good good and service. I think the food is expensive, but it is expensive at all the restaurants in Highlands. We ate early so not many people in the restaurant to consider noise levels. We would certainly go there again.
The chef and his team hit a home run this evening. Great specials from the filets to the NC mountain trout, the dinner was prepared and executed without a hitch. Our service from the hostess’s greeting to the dessert was excellent. Bravo Midpoint-
The food was incredible, we had the charcuterie board, the seared ahi tuna, a spinach salad with candied fruits and nuts, and the pastry chefs selection. The owner was delightful and helped us out with our wine selection. The atmosphere is modern, sophisticated, romantic and relaxed. Highly recommend!
Great food and ambience. Desserts were amazing
Food was pretty good, but not thrilling, except for some very tasty brussels sprouts. Interior ambiance was lacking—the fluorescent kitchen lighting floods out into the main space and it ruins the effect of the dining space. Outside porch and bar are very fun. I think Midpoint is caught somewhere between casual and upscale modern, and it is an awkward blend right now. I’d love to see management pick one direction or another!
Service was not very attentive, seemed rushed. Cajun chowder and pork tenderloin great, seafood paella pedestrian, not special. Limited desserts available, none of our first, second or third choices.
The waitress was quite entertaining if you have ever seen the old sitcom “Mel’s Diner.” The food was just ok. I’m from the city so maybe my expectations were too high. The Moscow Mule was excellent.
The service & food was fantastic! Can’t wait to go back
My first time to this establishment and certainly won't be the last. My profession for the last 28 years is Executive Chef so I know quality food when I see it. The Carpaccio was presented beautifully and had a lovely accent of Jalapeno cream which made the dish giving it a slight bit of heat, The SeaBass special with a green curry sauce was delightful and I had the rack of lamb which was cooked a perfect medium rare with a Madiera sauce. Our Server Kathy was excellent and knowledgeable and friendly. But the highlight of the evening were the desserts prepared by their in house pastry chef. We had the Key Lime Chocolate Torte and the Red Velvet Cake which were over the top in taste and presentation. Great job Midpoint! Keep up the great food. Chef Sean
1st time at MidPoint since they reopened. Great experience overall and so glad they are doing well. It is a super location and they have kept the very cool atmosphere that was Cyprus and the menu is definitely an upgrade.
Well done and hopefully they will open soon for Sunday Brunch.
Great food, nice atmosphere sitting on the deck. Would be nice if the tables were a bit larger, but that's a minor point!!!
Fantastic Restaurant we will be back! Amazing and attentive staff, one of the best meals we’ve had in Highlands!!!
Food was only warm, service very slow. However the food was delicious.
Great restaurant with a delightful pastry chef. The rooftop bar That is adjacent to the restaurant is great for a nightcap.
We enjoyed some time in the outdoor lounge area...and then had a fabulous dinner. We all had one of their specials for the night and can’t wait to get back and try some of their regular menu items. Food, wine, service and experience was really perfect.
Prices in line with other upscale Highlands eateries.
All four diners really liked their meals.
Lamb Wellington and Sea Bass we’re both spot on.
All but our dessert was VERY GOOD. I think they out source their desserts and the Napoleon, while looking good, was to dry.
The sea bass was exceptional and the pasta with shrimp etc. was delicious and balanced. Both very good.
We made reservations but probably didn’t need them. It is a new restaurant so not many people were there. We ordered drinks and they were very good. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. It’s just that the food was just okay. We ordered Brussels for an appetizer and they were okay. I ordered the ribeye medium rare and was expecting a nice juicy thick steak that would be red inside. Instead I got a flat piece of meat that was maybe 1/2” thick and it was cooked medium. How can you screw up something as simple as a ribeye? My husband ordered the pasta special. He said while the shrimp were very good the rest was very boring and he might as well have not had the pasta. We were very disappointed with the food because it wasn’t a cheap place. The only thing that was good were the drinks.
Its was easy to book a table, and was immediately seated. The service was above average, signature cocktail list was good. Had the Poutine appetizer, lots for two people to share, better for four persons to share. We ordered the Surf Turf Special, split.. which they did a nice job, everything was cooked perfectly. We talked with the Pastry Chef, Oksana and decided we we're going to order dessert. I had the Pear dessert and she had the Pavlova. Everything was fantastic.
Menu not as extensive as shown on website. Was looking forward to having things not usually available (huitlacoche, elote) but not available
Our first time at this restaurant which only opened a couple of months ago. It was a very warm evening and the dining room was way too warm, but the hostess opened some windows when we requested that she do so and that helped some. Service seemed slow with a longer than normal time between appetizers and main course. The food was very good! Several of us had the salmon on sticky rice and it was delicious. There were no complaints about the food. It is pretty noisy and with the open kitchen concept I think they need to do more for air flow since they are located upstairs and the dining room heats up pretty quickly. We will go back and I would recommend it to others as long as they are not in a hurry.
This was our first time to dine at Midpoint, so we were curious about the menu, service, etc.
The restaurant doors and windows were open and it was hot and fairly noisy. The Italian red wine was hot (about 30 degrees above cellar temperature).
The menu is limited. I know it’s “farm to table,” but there’s a lot going on in local gardens this time of year! My $18 hamburger (I would have ordered something else if I had found something that sounded better) was just okay. The chicken ramen bowls were just okay.
There are now more choices in Highlands, so I’m not sure how well this new place will do.
The food was excellent. We can’t say enough about the sea bass. It was delicious! Drinks took a while to get but the special margarita was excellent! We will be back.
Server was very good at suggesting an alternative beer selection (that demonstrated her knowledge of the different styles of beer) when they ran out of two different selections. Nice to have smart people who know their food and beverages.
Midpoint Highlands was a great restaurant to have a meal after a relaxing day in Highlands. We were greeted with a smile and our server ensure our meal was completely gluten free because of our diet. They even had gluten free deserts. This was a great value for the money and the staff there was incredible.
Very weird menu. Nothing overly appealing. The previous restaurant at the location, Cyprus, went out of business and the new Owner has kept the basic menu. Only open for dinner.
My wife and I took our son who was here for a visit. We all enjoyed our meals, had a good wine that Christina recommenced. The ribeye and the sea bass were particularly good.
Entrees were delicious; sea bass was cooked perfectly as well as the ribeye. As usual we thoroughly enjoyed desserts and bought some to take home. Wonderful baker!
The menu online isn’t the same as the menu in the restaurant. It was a really good experience, but some of the things I was really planning on getting, were not on the menu in the restaurant. The overall experience was really good and we will be back!
Loved it! Food was excellent, service was wonderful... desserts (we ordered 3) were works of art and delicious. I am sure when I am in Highlands next year I will have to make a reservation at least a month in advance.
Very good. Sea back was excellent. Was very busy so service and food was not quite as good as our last visit. Better to go on a week night, however always good!
The atmosphere is nice. Service was not very good as the place was crowded. They didn't seem like they had enough wait staff. The outside area looked fun although we sat inside. Food was fine and they adjusted my dish to include more vegetables. The wait for our food was very long. Wine choices were not exciting.
Food was good and service very good. One objection: bill was brought to table to be signed on machine with waitress waiting for signature. The check presented three choices for tip, 20%, 25%, 30% or “other”. I thought that a bit much, particularly with the waitress standing there.
Wonderful atmosphere, excellent staff, great wine list, small but varied menu. Every dish we saw come out of the kitchen was beautifully prepared.
My friend and I shared the charcuterie platter. It had a great variety of standard options found on most charcuterie platters but also had wonderful additions of smoked salmon, beef tenderloin, thinly sliced apples and grapes. There was more food on the platter than we could eat so we have appetizers for this evening as well
Sea bass was tasty but overpriced. Menu needs more variety and diversity. Wine list was extensive but didn't have all the wines on the list. Dessert was very good. Our table was near an open window and a recent rain made the floor and one chair wet. Should have seated us at another table.
Four of us dined at Midpoint - the food was delicious, the setting perfect and our server did a great job!!! We can't wait to go back! This is a hidden gem! Also the pastries were delish!!!
A really delicious dinner and over the top desserts!
Memorable! Highly recommend it! Do not miss the desserts...eadible art!!
