Absolutely stunning, this place, if you picked it up and plonked it down in the middle of 8th arrondissement, would have a michelin star or two and a 6 month reservation list. The exquisite balance, nuanced technique and flavour, autumnal colours, a duck parfait that surpassed anything I have ever tasted. Classic French with a spank on the bottom and a kiss on the lips, fabulous wine list too, great wines by the glass, so fab for pairing... it's like finding the culinary equivalent of a Faberge Egg, in a country town. But to be honest Kyneton punches well above its weight in restaurants.

Contemporary Parisian Bistro in Kyneton / Macedon Ranges / Central Victoria that is an absolute must visit! Set Menu applies and is compact containing French classics that are all exceptional. The sauces on the mains are amazing and perhaps steal the show! The L'affinage of the fromage was perfect. Service is attentive and obliging. Wednesday & Thursday nights is BYO which we love!

We returned for good reason. The service in particular was as always next level, with outstanding advice both with food and wine, along with tentative, friendly and timely engagement. Midnight Starling is simply exquisite in every way. The food was immense, flavoursome, balanced, and perfectly cooked. Bravo, Midnight Starling, bravo. You did it again. Thank you!

A lovely night back at Midnight Starling. The food as ever is cooked to perfection with nice portion sizes. The service was efficient and friendly without intruding into our conversations.

The Midnight Starling was superb. Great service and meals. We had a very experienced and attentive waiter and the only slight annoyance was I couldn't manage three courses on this occasion, but will be sure to leave room next time. My husband had the venison, I had the Duck with sides of gratinee potatoes and peas with lardons. Both main dishes and the Kingfish entrees were absolutely delicious. We will be back.
