MidiCi Neapolitan Pizza - Somerville
Nice pizza, very simple ingredients, nicely presented. Excellent server, very polite
Lovely space, very nice vibe ... pleasant staff ... not too loud! Great for families or dining with friends. Food is nice--a bit different than average fare and certainly a step up from a basic pizza parlor.
The orange creamsicle was very yummy, just like the picture! The burrata was simple but good! The truffle pizza could have been more creamy or had more flavor or something (even though we added truffle cheese as well). Next time we would try a different pizza, maybe one with a marinara sauce instead. The Nutella calzone was delicious. Our server was very efficient and nice, the hosts were also nice. Overall very good experience, we’ll prob be back!
Great food. However, service could use an upgrade. Went in for the $3.14 pizza that was advertised on their IG account and was told that it was only for lunch. Went back into IG to check it out, and nothing was written about it only being valid for lunch. Nonetheless, the food was still very good.
For some reason, appetizers and main meal all came out at one time. Food, service and ambiance was very good.
Excellent service. The pizza was delicious. Recommend the Italian salad with the salami. Our waitress was just lovely; kind and attentive.
Pizza wasn’t as good as I would have expected. The apps were delicious though. Really liked the burrata
Visited for the 1st time with my daughter & sister after going to the movie. We ordered small plates and drinks. The food we had was very good. Only one thing, we ordered meatballs (6) and we only received 5. :) It wasn't worth bringing it up for the 1 meatball. Just an FYI to the kitchen. :) We'll be back!
The meatballs were awesome and so was the garlic bread.
The tables by the window were a little tight.
The owners (we believe it was) was very friendly to my partner and I. However, our waiter took way too long to serve us water when we asked her. We came to this restaurant before and enjoyed the service. So we came again for Valentine’s and this time it wasn’t pleasant.
Really impressed with MidiCi. Their cheese board was filled with assorted delicious cheeses. Usually cheese boards don't have a lot but this was filled. The pizza was very good too. Could split a pizza between 2 people. Although they were short staffed, they did a nice job with keeping up.
Delicious, fresh ingredients. Appetizers as well as salads and pizza were yummy! Nutella dessert was beyond scrumptious. Friendly service. Fun comfy modern atmosphere. Drinks were very good and also had a great wine list.
We enjoyed our first trip toe MidiCi. I got the chicken pesto calzone and my boyfriend got a pizza. We both enjoyed our meals. They have a good variety of topping combos. We're definitely interested in trying the meat & cheese board next time. It wasn't very busy on a January weeknight.
Food was excellent. Service was poor - one mishap after another. It took 20 minutes to get our first round of drinks (only 3 of the 4 we ordered). Appetizer, salads, and entrees were brought out together. We asked to speak to owner who spent quite a bit of time lingering at the table next to us before finally coming over. We explained that, although the food was outstanding, the service was awful and we didn't really want all our food served at one time (not to mention there was no room at the table for all the dishes). He found excuses for just about everything (new staff, new bartenders, etc). As an act of good will, the manager reduced our check by 50%. Might have gone back and given it another try until I got a phone call the next day insisting that we need to come pick up the pizza we ordered; I explained that there was no one at my number by the name indicated and that we didn't place an order. With new restaurants opening in the same development and many other dining options, restaurant should try to improve customer service as soon as possible. Sorry - just being honest.
Server seemed to be having an off night. Brought the wrong drink. Rambling in his conversation. Distracted. Pleasant enough though. We love Midici and will be back.
Pizza crust was very fresh and great selection of toppings. Caesar salad was large enough to share and Bruschetta app was fabulous!
Food here is always very good. Unfortunately, service has constantly been an issue
This restaurant needs an actual restaurant manager. The service was absolutely horrible and the restaurant clearly isn’t run well. We made a reservation for 7:30PM and promptly arrived on time. The hostess was clearly overwhelmed probably because she was alone- it was a Saturday night- have two hostesses (seriously?). We were sat 5 minutes after arriving but didn’t see our waitress for 18 minutes thereafter. I had to go back to the hostess to let her know we hadn’t seen anyone since she has sat us nearly 20 minutes ago. It was pretty much downhill after that. The food was decent.
Very disappointing. Pizza was undercooked and very doughy. Service was awful.
Everything was wonderful. We ate on the early side, however, it took the server 10 minutes to come to our table, another 10 minutes to bring our drinks, and another 10 minutes to take our order. Not sure what the problem was, they didn't appear that busy, and we noticed 2 managers eating at the table next to us. The pizza is amazing, so it was definitely worth it!
Service was awful. Took 20 minutes for person to bring over waters. Really good pizza, just poorly run restaurant.
Food was very good but pizza was cut very oddly making it hard to share. One huge piece, one tiny piece and some other sizes. No care taken. The person serving us seem indifferent about her job. Would only go back cause food was very good.
Service was pretty slow and she forgot a few things
We were looking forward to some good salad and pizza but, sadly, this was not really the place for it. All the food came at the same time which created a very crowded table. We would have preferred the salads and then pizza. We got 3 of the same pizzas but one of them was so salty it was inedible. One and done with this place.
I was flying in from Philadelphia and made a reservation at 10pm through Opentable. When I arrived at the restaurant at 9:50pm, the doors were locked. I went around to the corner and asked (with a confused looked) if they were open. The restaurant employee advised the chef closed the restaurant early because they weren’t busy. So much for customer service and consistency. It’s somewhat consistent with other reviews I’ve read about the staff rushing to close. You do the math.
This restaurant is super cute, great seating options so you can either sit at the bar, a table, or a high top next to where the cooks prepare the pizzas. There is also a great outdoor patio with several fire pits.
The food was good, nothing spectacular but it was decent pizza, and made super quick.
I would consider returning again for the food and ambiance, but likely will not due to our experience with the service. Our waiter did all the right things, greeted us, brought us water, took our drink and dinner orders correctly. However, we felt incredibly rushed. The restaurant closes at 11, yet I was able to make a reservation for 10:30 (or even 10:45). We arrived promptly at 10:30 and were seated right away but were kindly reminded the bar stops serving at 11. Our intention was only to grab one drink w/ our pizza as we had just gotten out of a movie and planned to make it an early night. However, everything about our waiters actions was rushed. He checked on us far too frequently, asked if we wanted to wrap up leftovers before I was finished eating, and when we said yes he brought the box over and placed it on our table instead of taking our food in the back and packaging it up for us. It was clear that he wanted us to hurry up and leave so he could end his shift. I get it, but we did not feel comfortable and felt like we needed to suck down our food. My suggestion is for the restaurant to not take reservations after 10 if the staff are going to be impatient with their guests.
Appetizer of Caesar’s salad was good. Dish with Italian ham and prosciutto were all shredded and pilled in a ball. Terrible!!! Garlic bread was overly oily. Pizza’s are no where near Napoletano type pizza. 4 of us all got different pizza and it’s amazing how under cooked the pizzas are even after it was sent back to be cooked. Waitress never returned once we got food. Had to ask another waitress for a glass of water. Don’t think this place will see us any time soon.
Food was excellent. Service was very good servers were polite and friendly. Was a little bit slow but we didn’t mind we were relaxing and enjoying ourselves! Will definitely recommend and come back!
Great food, but the music was so loud, we couldn’t hear each other.
Waiter was very slow. Food and drinks delicious!
Excellent gluten free pizza!!
Horrible service. The waitress brought us wrong drinks multiple times and didn’t seem to know what she was doing. She brought the pizzas before the appetizer. Very inattentive and overall unprofessional. I wouldn’t go back. Pizza was fine. Not amazing but not bad.
Mediocre food, asked for a different dressing on my salad (that was on another salad) and it seemed too be too difficult a task for them to figure out and I got a dry salad with no dressing, staff was not particularly attentive and mostly seemed confused. The place was empty, so this was not due to being busy.
Good food and drinks. Friendly but slow service.
Atmosphere was great, service was great, food was incredible! The set was amazing, would highly recommended!
Service was awful....it was not busy or crowded but it took over 10 minutes for a draft beer & glass of wine to come from the bar...we ordered 3 pizzas 1 came to the table then 5 mins later the 2nd one came out then after another 10 mins we had to flag down the waiter & ask for the 3rd
