Really horrible service when we sat outside. The waitress completely forgot about us.
A Michelin-worthy experience in Boston! Food was all perfect, and service was impeccable, patient, and accommodating. Highly recommend!
Only problem was young children not properly monitored by parents. They yelled all the while they were there and required that we move our table. We then sat near the bar which was quieter than they were.
What a find! Lovely spot right at Tremont Street and Mass Ave which made it a good walk to the Calderwood Pavillion. (And for those of you parking for the theatre, parking is better closer to Mass Ave.) The restaurant staff were welcoming and the service was attentive. The food was amazing. My husband said the roast chicken was delectable and the farro that surrounded it was really good. (He said it was the best meal out that he has had in ages.) I had the ricotta pasta which was delicious. The green salad--so simple and fresh, with the added touches of dill and mint--was outstanding! We will be back!
We had such a great meal! And service was excellent.
Mida has turned out to be one of our favorite restaurants in the South End. And, that's saying a lot!
Chic, foodie haven with inventive tasty dishes and generous cocktails. We'll be back!
Wonderful find in the South End. Great food! Pasta is delicious. Good wines and loved the tiramisu!
We had a reservation for 7:45 but we reached earlier and they made us wait at the bar which was ok but I could sense that they just wanted us to eat there so that they can give away the table to some walk-ins. Ultimately, we got our table around 8:05 and we had the all you can eat pasta. However, the service was really slow after that and they ran out of lobster which was our main attraction as I dont eat other meat. It is an all you can eat place but they asked us after 3 rounds( should at least be 5 rounds as they have 5 choices and give really small quantities) if we were done. Overall the service was really bad and I felt a bit out of place as I am not a native. Not accusing them of racism but there was definitely some bias.
Food is excellent as always. Service was not as good as usual but pasta night is hectic.
A fabulous gem in Boston. The food was original and delicious, the ambience warm, the staff attentive. There were three of us and all the dishes were wonderful...the chicken was crispy and tender and I would highly recommend it. The pastas were perfect, the polenta so tasty, and the focaccia was absolutely amazing!! We will recommend this restaurant to friends for sure.
I know no one eats carbs anymore, but if you are one of the few-I highly recommend MIDA! The pasta is delicate and delicious. I tried every person's dish at the table. I had the crab chili past-excellent. My husband had the lobster pasta-fantastic and our friend had the ricotta gnocchi which was to die for! The mussels appetizer with the toasted bread was perfectly sautéed, nice and plump!
I was celebrating my birthday with my boyfriend and we decided to go to MIDA for the first time. The salad and bolognese were delicious! Good service. The prices are a bit high, but good food and the ice cream with olive oil was a nice, birthday treat; thank you guys!
Bucatini pasta was amazing
Terrific dinner. The pasta dishes are exceptional and should be tried!!!
Only real star deduction is because drinks, while good, are overpriced, and one of our meals, while delicious, was served barely warm while the other was steaming.
Service was weak. Lots of staff standing around but no service. Food was fair. Pasta was excellent but sauces were burnt and weak. Too bad because pasta itself was very good and cooked perfectly .
Disappointed is an understatement. The four of us had a 6pm reservation before an 8pm show, which would have given us plenty of time to eat and get to the show. Long story short, we were only able to eat our appetizers as the dinner order was either forgotten or entered late by the server. We gave our main orders around 6;45 and by 7:40 we had to leave as no food showed up. We were told two different stories. One was there was a large party that ordered before us and another story was that there was a miscommunication with the kitchen. Usually bad reviews are self-created problems, but in this case, the problem was entirely the fault of the restaurant.
food is overpriced and the service is extremely slow. We waited for 20 mins after finishing starter until we get our pasta.
Overall love the ambiance and the food is good. This was our second occasion eating here. The first time I was blown away this time I felt it was average. Our cocktails were awesome! The food itself was good -> I had most fault that some of seafood had sand in it (mussels and scallops) it was not the entire meal as others I was sharing with were ok. I would still go back as the environment, location, simple food etc are great, but I am less enthused than I was after my first visit!
Carefully prepared menu with a thoughtfully chosen wine list and interesting cocktails.
Great place to have a well crafted meal. Got the chefs choice option with the wine pairing and it all worked well. Great value but I would be curious how often this option varies. My only complaint would be how quick dishes were served. At one point I had three drinks and three plates in front of me and my partner. If servings were spread out more, I'd give this place 4.5 across the board. Would recommend for anyone looking to eat beyond standard Italian offerings.
Delicious food, creative cocktails and attentive service! Very enjoyable date night experience.
Amazing food. Highlights include: Lobster scampi, arancini, calamari and gelatos
I accidentally found this restaurant on Google maps while searching for something close by... my friends couldn’t believe this was a random discovery!
My girlfriend and I agree, probably the best meal we have ever had. The Della Casa w/ Wine Pairing was a phenomenal value. Each course was thoughtfully prepared to provide an amazing dining experience. The service was also incredible; our waiter was very kind to adjust our menu to our dietary restrictions. An absolutely wonderful experience!
Birthday - they were so nice and gave us complimentary house made dessert!
Awesome servers. Food was great!
Second visit to MIDA and it was wonderful again! The pasta dishes are outstanding. This time we loved the mussels and the romanesco with bagna cauda. Staff was very attentive, knowledgeable about wines, cautious about allergies and got us out in time to get to the Huntington theater which is a reasonable walking distance for our group via the sneaky bridge between Camden St and Gainsborough St.
Excellent dinner! Prosciutto Parma starter - so creamy! Bucatini Amatriciana was classic and the flavors of the lobster scampi were yummy! Cocktails looked nicely crafted but we didn’t try any. The wine list was reasonably priced and well-rounded; we had an excellent French Syrah Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes and wine list. The noise level was the only negative. We were near the bar to the left., wouldn’t recommend that area.
Amazing Monday night pasta special
The food was flavourful and nice and hot, with artisan Italian bread! The seafood linguine was good but there was very little seafood in it,only a few very tiny pieces of lobster and didn’t even see any shrimp! The waitress was very pleasant and overall it was a good experience.
I generally leave rave reviews, but not this time. I was a little surprised by MIDA given its strong reviews. Firstly, service was great, but the rest was "middle of the road".
My wife had a salad that was "a bunch of green lettuce" without dressing. When I asked if it was a mistake, they said "NO". They didn't offer an alternative. Presentation (on the plate) of the dishes was mediocre. I had scallops which were small and underwhelming. I could go on.
The setting was nice. The manager and the server were good, gut I don't think I would go back.
Great vibe, delicious food and an amazing, unique wine list. The manager and Sommelier were great helping me navigate though the interesting bottles. It was a business dinner and my guests were equally impressed. Would definitely return.
Delicious small plates with unique flavor combinations. The pasta dishes are also divine.
Great food and good service. A little loud, but not overly.
A great place for Mother's Day brunch! It was a very reasonable fixed price menu and we look forward to going back for brunch with their regular menu which looks great!
Two of us have dined at Mida at least six times and all four of us agreed, this past weekend's meal was memorable, with great service. The first time we went to Mida was soon after it opened. We were quite impressed and loved the food and service, so we've returned periodically. A couple times were less impressive but this past meal was fantastic from apps (mussels, arancini, prosciutto) to entrees (GF pasta w lobster, a lamb pasta special that was out of this world, and the pork chop). One of the reasons we like Mida is that the wine list is always interesting and staff are knowledgeable about the wines. Highly recommend Mida and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!
Our experience at MIDA was just okay. The server was kind but service was very slow. There were some things that were off...one radish in the radish salad. They brought things out at awkward times. For example, we received bread at the end of our entree. I think they have some kinks to work out.
I really enjoyed my dinner at MIDA. The beet salad was especially delicious. Enjoyed the friendly atmosphere.
