Mickey Mantle's Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Reservation for 7pm. When arrived, no table available, so they assembled a make-shift table in the hallway intersection, with no lighting, waiters running by frantically, and so much noise I couldn’t speak with the person directly adjacent to me. We had investigated the menu online prior to arrival, only to discover that the listed steaks (and prices) were considered of low quality— the hidden super-secret menu on a notepad device (one for the entire table) listed the higher quality items. The table ordered a variety of steaks from the published and super-secret menu, but quality was very hit and miss. Of course it was too dark in our hallway table to actually see the steak, but tastes tended toward the bland and texture tough. Only saving grace was an attentive and professional waiting staff.
This is my second time in the last 6 months or so to have dinner at Mickey Mantle's and both times the service has not been up to par. The first time one of the meals at our table of 4 was wrong and when she finally go her meal the rest of us were through dining. This last weekend we had a reservation but decided to try to sit in bar which was reserved in most spots so went ahead and took our table. Ordered a martini before dinner and got them after our salads and appetizer. Then ordered wine with dinner and were completely through with dinner before being served with wine. The only way I will go back is to sit in the bar for a martini on an off night when the crowds are less. Very disappointing for a high end restaurant like this.
Both of our steaks were absolutely cold when they came out. Mine was under cooked. The couple next to us sent theirs back twice and she still didn’t eat her steak. However the manager came over and “took care” of there meal because they were “regulars”. Manager didn’t ask to do anything to help with our expirenece. I was out 160 dollars with terrible food and bad management. He may not recognize me but I’m a regular in fact just 6 months ago I spent 3800 dollars there one night for a friends bachelor party. I will be happier taking my money to Mahogany or Red Prime next time since regulars are treated much different than ya common folks who have just as much money as your regulars. Pathetic business operations and will let everyone I know how we were treated and how awful our expirence truly was.
We were in OKC for the OU/W.Virg game and we took our friends and our 24 yr. old son to Mickey Mantle’s and our waiter was extraordinary. Knew his wine too and was a pleasure to talk to. Food came out perfect with lots of options and couldn’t have been a more perfect night for the day after Thanksgiving.
Overall the food was pretty good but below a Morton's. Atmosphere was good, convenenient location. Our sides were brought out nearly 10 minutes after the entrees were delivered. No apology, no explanation. Something you may expect from a 'chain' lower cost steakhouse but not something carrying Mickey Mantle's namesake.
It was priced similar to a Morton's or Frisco's but the delivery of the meal and management of the meal was lacking. Server did a nice job less the poor timing and quality of the side dishes. Not sure if his issue, the kitchen's, or what - never got an explanation nor apology.
Overpriced and disappointed due to issues and no one in management addressing things.
The filet was excellent as usual, paired with a Maryland style crab cake. We were running late for our reservation before a Thunder game, and I called to place my order ahead. Our waiter took the order, and when we arrived, our table was ready, and our order was brought to our table promptly. We had a delightful meal and still made it to the game on time. Excellent service and food!
The food was good, but my father and I both ordered steaks, and when the food runners brought them to the table, they did not know who to give which steak. They did not cut into them to make sure they were prepared correctly. They really did not seem to care at all. Additionally, they brought my daughter a kids meal of steak & fries, when she had ordered chicken & fries. They immediately took it back, but by the time they brought the correct meal out for her, everyone else was done eating. Additionally, we had ordered onion rings that didn’t come out until time to go. The kids meal & onion rings were taken off the ticket, but that doesn’t make up for the disappointment of taking my father, who was visiting from TN, here in hopes of showing him a great meal, and experiencing this instead.
Mickey Mantle's is an excellent steak house. The smoked 10-oz filets were amazing as was the house salad and the creamed spinach. The asparagus was too big and too underdone, unfortunately. Also, they serve mashed SWEET potatoes with the meals, not mashed potatoes, so don't make that mistake if you're like me and really don't care for sweet potatoes. The service is top notch. MM is definitely worth the extra bucks.
It is a nice place and the staff is good. Overall, it is fairly pricey for what you get. The steaks are good quality but they prefer to sever everything rare. We ordered between rare and medium well done -- all of the steaks were close to rare. If you want a medium steak, you might want to order it well done.
My first time going. I ordered a drink and realized I really didn't like it. Just my own personal taste. I spoke with the server and with out any unpleasantness was able to get me something I enjoyed drinking.
The service was great. Catered to whatever we needed. Felt very spoiled by the end if the night. Worth every penny;)
Just like old No 7 this place is outstanding! Service is first class, food was exceptional, a very cool vibe in the restaurant, and a fantastic wine list. A great steak house is my guilty pleasure and Mickey Mantels is as good as I have been to. I will be back and I hear the Lamb chop app is something to try so that's on my list! Until next time.
Very pleasant experience. The setting is casual elegance and the pace matches. A leisurely dinner with attentive and knowledgeable service, very helpful with explanations of preparation and unfamiliar wines. Steakhouse menus are not generally innovative but the we sampled two appetizers and a salad and sides with our steaks. All were well prepared -- the chef is not too proud to serve a well-done steak that is still juicy. A very pleasant experience topped off with a shared dessert and complimentary port. You can't go wrong here.
My new husband and I eloped this past weekend. We went to Mickey Mantels afterwards for dinner. They were so amazing to us! The food was great the service by Michah was just as excellent!! Thank you to everyone at Mickey Mantel's for treating us so wonderful on our special day! By the way the steaks are to die for!!!
Always our favorite. We travel many miles out of our way to dine here as often as possible since we live about 1500 miles away. The bar is amazing, location in Brick-Town is perfect, and the menu is the best we have ever found. 28 oz bone-in ribeye is a favorite but always have to share lobster with it. Wagyu is amazing especially topped off with chocolate cake.
