   We were celebrating our 38th anniversary. We were greeted and seated in a most welcoming way. We chose a shiraz wine however while perusing the a la carte menu my wife had to ‘sort out’ a mosquito on the glass next to our table. Our natural oysters arrived accompanied by a blowfly which we continually had to chase. When the waitress collected our dishes she managed to knock over the bottle of wine.....all over the table...and...all over my wife’s slacks....yes they were white and no table cloth to help absorb anything. The manager?....supervisor?... arrived and offered her a complementary drink. My wife vehemently suggested that a complementary bottle of wine was in order. The manager quickly complied. Our mains arrived (we both ordered the New York Strip with Diane sauce and broccolini with shaved Parmesan). The sprinkling of Parmesan was barely noticeable. The steaks were beautiful and tender but the ‘diane sauce’ consisted of something akin to a red spare ribs sauce which completely dominated and therefore totally spoiled them. We both scraped off the sauce after having enquired if we had been given the correct meals.....the response was...”Yes, this is our Diane sauce.” We perused the dessert menu. There seemed to be nothing ‘specially prepared’ by a chef. We opted for the Cheese Platter for two. The waitress asked, “Which cheese would you like?” I verified with the manager that our understanding of a cheese platter being a selection was correct and she agreed. After ‘discussing’ the bill including whether a $9.80 offer for dry cleaning was appropriate or not we went home....anniversary celebration totally ruined.

   Great food, nice service. Some points need improvement such like timing of service.

   The only complaint i have was when i tried to change our booking from 6 to 6.30 through open table...it said nothing available till thursday! The resturant was empty!

   This was actually the third time that this family has inter-acted with your operations - once some time ago you catered for one of my granddaughter's high school graduation, something I did not attend but both her and her mother were not impressed. The second time, not so long ago, my other granddaughter looked at your organisation to cater for her wedding, due next year, but she, a very good cook, like her mother, thought that the value was not there and went elsewhere. Our recent foray then was the third strike I am afraid. For a start, it took an inordinate amount of time to actually get a drink once we sat down, and even longer before our initial meal arrived. None of us expected a KFC/McDonald's type turn around, but the wait for the food was inexplicably long, particularly considering there were few diners in front of us. As to the food, my daughter's chicken was under-cooked for her taste and she made it clear to the waitress that she wanted cooked chicken. My granddaughter's steak which she ordered medium rare was not and whilst the bouillabaisse which I ordered was reasonable, I have had far fresher seafood at various eateries up and down the coast. Finally, I find it amazing that in an establishment that touts itself as "French Fusion" your waitress was unsure whether you served a café royale coffee or not. The one saving grace was the cheese platter which was good

   Food and service was exceptional for our group. Nothing was too much trouble, very enjoyable.

   The oysters cold, clean and delicious. The Lamb tender and flavoursome- cooked to perfection. We enjoyed our night out and would definitely recommend.

    Very good menu with a fine degustation offer and exceptional wine list. I ordered a special bottle and unfortunately it was corked, but they took it back without question and I was able to order a different exceptional bottle no problem. Nice serving sizes and very well presented and beautiful food - the eye fillet was very fine. Service is very attentive and well turned out. They did have a propensity to take away finished diners used dishes before everyone had finished which is unusual. Our mains arrived before I had finished entree which is not great, but in defense, I am a very slow eater. The noise levels were quite high but most of that was from the street. We will be back for a degustation at some time.
