This restaurant never disappoints. Food is consistently outstanding, service is crackerjack and the decor is lovely. It’s the perfect roadhouse and one of the best -laces to eat in Northern Michigan. The meat is all Prime and Michael knows hot to cook it perfectly to order. The owners and staff are professional and very friendly. This is a must visit when on the area.

The food was very good. I had the 72 hour short ribs they we delicious. My husband had the ribeye, he is very picky about his steak but would definitely go back again

Superb dining experience! Outstanding service and food. As indicated in the ratings, the only downside was the noise level in the area we were seated, adjacent to two other large groups. But that paled in comparison to the outstanding food and service.

we have not been to Michaels in a long while. It has evolved into a beautiful atmosphere. The food was good, but the price for entrees was a great value compared to other fine dining venues. Our server Randy was absolutely great and added to the wonderful experience.

Always a good experience at Michael’s. Friendly servers, great food and a pleasant up north back woods atmosphere. Known for being a great steak house for years but who knew that they had great sushi? A professionally west coast trained sushi roller on staff. Saturday night special with a lot of different rolls to choose from. It was very good. Big shareable side dishes and a very tempting dessert menu.

Michael’s is a great dining spot! Everything was very good - food, drinks, service and ambiance! We made a last minute reservation and the only available seating was in the bar room but the ambiance in there was just fine! Service was very good and we had a very pleasant meal….there is a very good variety on the menu from casual to more hearty meals and a plus is a very good selection of wines… All in all a very pleasant experience!

I think it is more fun to sit at the bar and order food. Or sit outside and order food. I didn't realize my company was not into the steaks (they wanted salads) and if they were they would never pay that much for one. The Wedge really wasn't a full wedge, like other restaurants. It was quite small for the price. The place is beautiful inside but I would prefer to have more food for the money than sit in a place that obviously needs to pay for all the renovation. Don't get me wrong, I will come back but I will be ordering only sushi, appetizers, and sides when I come. The drinks are awesome at the bar. Very quality food that some would have to appreciate. I love places that use local veggies, and high-quality meats but some don't really care or know the difference. And we had two picky teens (not mine) with us who probably needed to eat elsewhere. But I will come again and bring my grown girls and enjoy a ladies' time for sure. Again, the salads really need to be bigger for the price. I am a local foodie who enjoys places that are very consistent but need good food for the money spent and I also tip very well for good service.

Truly a delicious meal. We live in Harbor Springs and don't mind the drive to Michael's. It has never disappointed us. BTW, Virginia is an outstanding server!

Have never had a bad meal here until tonight. And I’m a regular. Service was absolutely terrible. Server definitely catered to bigger party tables. The steaks were hardly seared and no seasoning. Worst steak I ever had. For $180 definitely won’t be back for awhile.

The inside of this restaurant is beautifully done. From the photos on the wall to the log beams, this place is pure Michigan. Randy was our server and he was fantastic. Very attentive and knowledgeable. The steaks were perfectly done to all our different likings. We shared the mash potatoes and brussel sprouts. Sides are shareable unless you are a heavy eater. The whole experience was great. This restaurant is a must visit.

We had researched Michael’s before making a reservation so we had a pretty good idea what to expect. We were not disappointed! Other reviewers were right about the temperature inside, so bring a sweater! Wagyu steak was shared by me and my husband and super tasty and tender. BBQ Mac and cheese was great, all salads were also good. And we had every dessert in the menu, all amazing but i especially like the Oreo stuffed donuts with cherry sauce.

As a family that lives up-north, we were looking for a dinning experience that offered a little more - Michael's was the place. We went on sushi night, and between apps, our entrées and desert, we left full and happy. The outside ambiance was picture perfect. Highly recommend.

Everything tasted delicious. I got the 8 ounce sirloin which was cooked perfectly but for a $50 steak you would expect sides to be included. I had to pay for my sides which was expensive considering I already just spent $50 on a steak. My husband got the short ribs, and the portion was extremely small for the price you paid everything else was amazing. The sushi was incredible and the desert was amazing as well.

Waited an 45 minutes our 2 entrees while tables around us, who arrived and ordered after us, received their meals. Addressed it with both the server and the manager multiple times. We were offered a desert as an apology. Unacceptable. If, and when, we ever go back we will sit in the tavern.

We had a very nice evening dining at Michael’s. The Beet salad and the borscht soup were delicious, and our steaks were cooked perfectly. Our server was pleasant, very knowledgeable about the menu and attentive. We will definitely be back.
